Korean Peninsula – Peaceful Strategy Only Option to Defuse Crisis

April 4, 2013

By Padmini Arhant

United States having initiated massive troop deployment and nuclear capable B-52 and B-2 stealth bombers, F-22 fighter jets, USS McCain and Decatur naval missile destroyers and anti-missiles in Pacific Island of Guam…in Korean Peninsula,

Notwithstanding contentious illegal economic sanctions along with cyber attacks against North Korea contributed to current standoff and require unraveling with rationale and peaceful strategy.

The situation cannot be escalated any further having reached a crescendo and appropriately demand restraints on all sides to protect lives in the territory and offshore.

First and foremost, lifting unjustified trade embargo and financial restrictions are absolutely necessary to allow North Korean population normal existence.

The whole idea of constricting economies in unlawful and discriminatory sanctions by western powers with no western nation ever sanctioned despite past and present horrendous crimes against humanity exerts supremacy denying countries recognition on sovereignty, territorial integrity and citizens rights to self-determination.

Above all, United States led economic warfare via illegitimate sanctions against any nation is in gross violation of human rights considering slow and painful death inflicted on innocent victims enduring inhumane policy.

The rest of the world obediently following such arbitrary rules share equal responsibility in committing genocide rather than concerted action rejecting prejudice and injustice towards nations that are assumed fair targets in the increasingly hostile environment dominant with powers conforming to hierarchy.

Again having not experienced sanctions ramifications, those behind implementation are directly responsible for human suffering through isolation while exempting them from similar misery regardless of individual and collective trajectory.

Next course to scuttle growing tension with North Korea is U.S. withdrawal of marine and aviation incursion under the pretext of preparation to DPRK threats when Pyongyang reaction emanating from United States interference in reconciliation process between people of North and South Korea.

United States intrusion anywhere causing turmoil is to facilitate rival factions i.e. the so-called allies ammunitions supply not barring nuclear armed fighter jets favoring arms manufacturer in the military industrial complex while ignoring massive civilian casualties in the profiteering and power quest beyond control.

Due to this reckless involvement in sovereign nations internal affairs, the citizens in the victim nations are forced to bear the loss of their loved ones including severe damages to infrastructure not sparing hospitals, schools, universities, church, mosques and public buildings along side destruction of private property leaving millions as refugees witnessed in Syria and Mali repeating Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen scenario.

Simultaneously, Americans, Britons and other natioals in western society are enforced with austerity resulting in domestic self-immolations and starvation due to fund allocation for sponsoring terrorism in Syria and warfare in Mali killing thousands of children, women and men in the relentless crusade to satisfy oligarchy and imperialists aspirations for foreign resources and land.

Last but not the least, transcending destabilization motto is a necessity in the evolutionary paradigm.

Besides intelligence agencies – CIA, MOSSAD, MI5, MI6 and counterparts, embassy / high commission primarily setup for espionage in addition to ill-reputed United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to sabotage functional democratic system overseas contrary to the acronym claim.

The non-governmental organizations (NGO), certain religious authority plus centers and some false human rights groups are also partners in the mission discrediting genuine members and institutes dedicated to humanitarian service.

On the economic front, trade treaty viz. Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), financial offers leading to economy insolvency from IMF, World Bank, ECB, and Federal Reserve…monetary proposals and mandatory loans to perpetuate banking fraud are predominant reasons behind prevalent gloom and doom expected to exacerbate origin and actual beneficiaries unlike taxpayers alone transformed into generational debtors under existing condition.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un declaration to boost economy is a positive step and reopening Kaesong industrial park generating income to DPRK and families on both sides would be prudent in expediting progress.

Restoring communication channels with South Korea and persistent peaceful negotiations are critical for both nations in national and republic interest.

United States honoring Korea’s sovereign rights in abstaining from counterproductive activities best suited to promote peace.

Best Wishes to citizens and leaderships in North and South Korea for successful peace accord leading to reunification.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Korean Peninsula – Denuclearization and DMZ Prudent for North and South Korea Existence

April 3, 2013

By Padmini Arhant

North Korea frustration to United States military incursion in Korean Peninsula is understandable.

However, resuming mothballed nuclear reactor including uranium enrichment at Yongbyon facility foment more aggression all around that is favorable to none.

Nuclear options is extremely dangerous and best rejected to protect lives in Korea and United States.

North Korean military and political leadership should realize that direct involvement through peace talks with South Korea alongside communication revival reinstating recently cancelled hotline in the demilitarized zone is vital and effective to neutralize United States fueled nuclearization.

Pyongyang reactionary steps simply provide fodder for aggressor to justify unjustifiable actions and scapegoat victim as provocateur.

Instead North Korean leadership persistent peace efforts initiating dialogue at various levels with South Korean counterpart restoring communication, transportation, reopening industrial complex providing livelihood to both North and South Korean families etc. would decrease unnecessary skirmishes in the territory.

South Korean President Park conciliatory political approach to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un peace overtures equally important to scuttle foreign power enforced hostility against Korean population on both sides.

Reiterating the fact, United States imperialistic quest with substantial military buildup in Asia amid domestic double dip economic recession, anti-American sentiment worldwide and alarmingly high suicides among U.S. armed forces,

The passion for militarism accompanied by nuclear armed artillery squandering millions of dollars in flying B-2 bombers that cost American tax payers $5.6 million past week and F-22 stealth fighter jets is a political decision to appease hegemony.

United States military and political leaderships respect for national sovereignty and citizens right to self-determination without terrorizing North Korea with military might and,

Similarly proxy wars funding and arming terrorists in Syria would perhaps mitigate tension allowing peaceful negotiations in the respective states currently dealing with United States manufactured crises.

Again nuclear status do not deter Untied States led hegemony to undermine countries abroad as witnessed with nuclear states Pakistan, India or for that matter China and Russia.

U.S. infiltration through drone strikes in Pakistan, energy policy restriction for India and Pakistan, anti-missiles to NGO operations in Russia, cyber and currency warfare with China are few of the many wanton provocations presumptuously undertaken to prove United States declining credibility and integrity in the rapidly changing geopolitical dynamics.

North Korea focus in building local economy and strengthening ties with South Korea would be viable response facilitating bilateral relations and any further antagonism from United States would clearly subject the source to imminent withdrawal.

Hence, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un adopting positive and constructive course towards South Korea and accordingly President Park Geun-Hye honoring diplomacy as pledged on the campaign trail would deliver desirable results than pursuing offensive tactics that is potentially catastrophic to Korea’s existence and regional safety.

North Korea avoiding strategies such as nuclear weapons enhancement even for defensive purpose would essentially shift responsibility and burden on United States to retreat and renounce belligerence causing enormous strife in the otherwise resolvable internal sovereign matter between North and South Korea.

Power exercised with violence and warfare exacerbates problems with irreversible outcome whereas peace guarantee unity, security and progress to all.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Park Geun-Hye are urged to acknowledge peace ending the foreign instigated nuclear armed militarization of peaceful Korea.

Wishing citizens in North and South Korea amicable agreement on all issues concerning the republic of Korea leading to successful reunification process.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Korean Peninsula – Peace and not War is the Solution to U.S. led Crisis

April 1, 2013

By Padmini Arhant

United States persistent military incursion in Korean Peninsula is a clear provocation.

The latest maneuvers premised on usual tactics – United States press and media complicity through deception and false propaganda is unnecessary and unaffordable in every aspect.

The notion that wars would revive U.S. economy is a myth considering the status quo attributed to the extravagant military expeditions involving illegal invasion, occupation and decimation of sovereign states around the world.

Notwithstanding phenomenal loss of lives and economic liabilities when American citizens are burdened with generational indebtedness while victim nations generations wiped out to serve hegemony goals disregarding prevalent cataclysmic outcome.

North Korea continues to endure United States military and nuclear threats with B-52 nuclear capable bombers flown all the way from Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri and F-22 Stealth fighter jets under the pretext of missile defense dispatched to South Korea.

The situation further aggravated in moving USS Fitzgerald guided missile-destroyer closer to beleaguered state.

These military activities are carried out over and above crippling economic and financial sanctions, cyber attacks and various provocative actions thus far.

United States deliberate and antagonistic measures against North Korea are counterproductive and best abandoned with complete withdrawal of U.S. presence from the region and world over.

In fact, United States sprawling military bases and sponsoring terrorism primarily responsible for violence and turmoil across the globe.

United States offer to protect South Korea against U.S. instigated warfare is a cliché and reminiscent of 9/11 attack with United States military, intelligence and political establishment collusion to perpetuate terror on Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Syria and now towards North Korea.

American taxpayers issued a blank check (cheque) on Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

The combined operations cost them multi trillion dollars skyrocketing national debt and ever since billions are expended in pursuing hegemony agenda depriving United States population normal existence with a staggering fifty five millions on food stamps, significant number of people rendered homeless and dependent on charity.

Again the misplaced priority to consume lives rather than saving them with divestments from militarism into United States economy improving joblessness, infrastructure, health care, education, housing, environment and addressing rising poverty confirms political decisions on war policy reject American plight for Imperialistic aspiration.

United States renouncing violent pursuits would perhaps provide the world opportunity to focus on pervasive national development instead of substantial military spending draining respective states treasury for death and destruction.

U.S. belligerence enforce disproportionate defense budget allocations on developing and developed nations to benefit arms manufacturer, banking and energy industry denying growth in other areas of economic sector essential for survival.

American public demand that government invest resources on economy and national issues over aggression against foreign nations critical in dealing with economic woes and precarious future.

In the Korean issue, United States engagement with North Korea is uncalled for and allowing North and South Korea to reconcile differences would de-escalate tensions in the territory.

North and South Korea are quite capable of resolving the matter with United States non-interference that only exacerbates the problem.

United States war rhetoric is not helpful in the otherwise preventable confrontation.

Nuclear options contemplation is reckless and catastrophic to the region and the world at large.

Political discourse, diplomacy and peaceful negotiations are the only means for reconciliation between North and South Korea.

Any nation in opposition to peace and dialogue misrepresent sovereign and republic status.

United States refrainment from military course and respect for life, national sovereignty as well as rights to self-determination of independent nations is the viable approach to defend national and global security.

The leaderships of North Korea and South Korea are urged to pledge to peaceful settlement to safeguard Korean interests, freedom and national identity.

Wishing the leaders and people of North and South Korea permanent peace and successful reunification.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Korean Peninsula – United States Exit From Region Critical For Peace

March 30, 2013

By Padmini Arhant

United States and South Korea military drill titled Key Resolve conducted on March 11 until March 21, 2013 involving 10,000 South Korean troops and 3,000 U.S. forces reiterated United States occupation in Korean Peninsula.

The flagrant display undoubtedly create rift under false pretext to protect South Korea when the situation since Korea’s partition has been the other way around with United States provocation against North Korea heightened in the past weeks stoking preparatory response from DPRK.

Despite North Korea’s repeat warnings to cease antagonistic military exercise not to mention economic warfare waged against DPRK population through U.S. illegal sanctions over decades, the recently imposed financial restrictions over and above trade embargo further exacerbate citizens plight.

The latest development also includes United States cyber attacks against DPRK official and government portals paralyzing essential activities along with flying nuclear capable B-52 stealth bomber over South Korea claimed as ‘deterrence’ action are clearly in violation of international law amounting to U.S. belligerence in the region.

Accordingly, North Korea having demonstrated extraordinary patience countered United States provocative measures with revoking armistice between the divided Korea and cancellation of hotline communication in the demilitarized zone.

Instead of de-escalating tensions, the United States signed a treaty with South Korea emphasizing renewal of military presence as well as arms and nuclear proliferation urging South Korea to move ahead even with perceived minima reaction from North Korea.

Considering United States contemporary aggression worldwide,

Notwithstanding sponsoring terrorism in Syria that has caused about 75,000 deaths and more counting with primitive methods like beheading victims and bombings of schools, Universities, hospitals, Church, Mosques and public sites on daily basis has left nearly a million refugees in deplorable and hostile conditions in Turkey and Jordan – the U.S. allies in the conflict.

United States current war mongering policy not barring nuclear threats under the so-called democrat and Nobel Peace Prize winning leadership arguably surpass much criticized Bush-Cheney administration.

Although, the condemnation of Bush-Cheney war crimes is justified still pending accountability due to incumbent authority guaranteed impunity to them pledging not to seek retribution over redemption.

The President as the commander-in-chief bear responsibility in military affairs exemplified in removal of General Stanley McChrystal, the former Chief of U.S. Armed Forces for off the record remark on the administration during the first term.

However, White House remaining defiant on substantial militarization in Asia Pacific alongside relentless drone strikes and proxy wars using terror networks in Syria is indicative of commitment to violence in opposition to peace and diplomacy.

United States political leaderships in the executive and legislative branch failure to adopt peaceful strategies on U.S. led hegemony manufactured international crises is a tradition maintained in the continuation of legacy at huge economic costs and most importantly innocent lives around the world.

The supremacy era is coming into conclusion necessitating the factions – Unites States and coalition to acknowledge changing geopolitical dynamics and paradigm shift in modern perspective rejecting superiority with global focus on equality and respect for national sovereignty, territorial integrity and indigenous society rights to self-determination.

Allowing the present standoff with North Korea to evolve into potential nuclear confrontation would be catastrophic for all and especially the United States given the vast troop deployment in Korean Peninsula and base in Japan.

United States comprehensive and complete troop withdrawal from Korea, Japan and elsewhere is the requirement for world peace and life survival based on past and ongoing turmoil consuming lives, livelihoods and entire planet resources to benefit those whose time on earth is limited yet they are determined to pursue counterproductive policies affecting billions with generational indebtedness and misery.

South Korea on the other hand surrendering sovereignty to foreign power rather than reconciliation with family in North Korea accommodates imperialist agenda to prolong subjugation and dominance experienced by citizens in Seoul and other parts of the country.

The increased violent incidents citing U.S. army personnel abuse taking undue advantage of detrimental Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) deprives South Korean public any legal course against such crimes – a dilemma paradoxical to U.S. justification on occupation for South Korea’s security.

Hence, South Korean President Park Geun-Hye adherence to campaign promise declining war and unnecessary skirmishes with relatives in North Korea would clarify Seoul priority imperative to both North and South Korea’s existence and people safety.

Simultaneously, North Korea’s Premier King Jong-un frustration is understandable in the adversarial circumstances from aggressor.

Nonetheless equanimity is best suited to stifle desperate tactics favorable to none specifically the source i.e. United States and South Korea.

North Korean Premier Kim Jong-un resistance to foreign intervention would be effective upon initiating direct peace talks with South Korea and,

Similarly South Korean President Park Geun-Hye approach through political dialogue with North Korean leadership for amicable resolution of status quo is the only viable option preventing conventional war with nuclear exchange – an event unequivocally devastating to all sides regardless of military might and capability.

Violence begets violence and an eye for an eye will blind the world prevalent in hegemony loss of vision evidently self-destructive with imminent collapse.

Restraint combined with diligence and rationality on all sides is critical transforming apathy into empathy in respective republic and national interest.

Wishing the leaderships of sovereign North Korea Premier Kim Jon-un and President Park Geun-Hye of South Korea with citizens all together – success in re-establishment of Korea that cherishes peace and harmony with pervasive progress and prosperity conforming to cultural and national identity.

Peace to all

Thank you.

North Korea – United States Provocation Against DPRK is Counterproductive

March 9, 2013

By Padmini Arhant

Korea colonized earlier by Japan until twentieth century endured typical colonial oppression.

Subsequently neo colonial power United States under the newly formed United Nations following World War II launched aggression against sovereign Korea in June 1950 and after three years the warring factions declared truce with Korea split into North and South according to hegemony agenda.

South Korea since then occupied with United States military base under the pretext of providing protection from North Korea.

United States offensive strategy conducting naval drills supposedly training South Korean forces for six decades intensified presence in Korean Peninsula and more so in the past three years with nuclear submarine on Yellow sea posing threats not only to North Korea but entire region likened to Persian Gulf incursion.

Washington’s antagonism towards North Korea from the beginning prompted Pyongyang to pursue nuclear aspirations and Korean leadership under former Premier Kim Jong Il developed nuclear capability with assistance from nuclear neighbors China and Pakistan in the Far East.

North Korea has been imposed with economic sanctions over decades for becoming a nuclear state.

In contrast United States has 5100 nuclear warheads and,

UNSC strongest ally Israel in possession of at least 200 – 500 nuclear arsenals enabled by U.S. and Britain with no formal acknowledgment to this effect and shielded from being listed as nuclear nation.

Again UN permanent security members i.e. P5 +1 United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany are nuclear powers either overtly or covertly like Germany being a prominent NATO and leading EU member with nuclear access yet none of them have been subjected to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections and,

United States, Israel and others declined to be signatory to Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) while conducting nuclear testing at their own convenience.

In the backdrop of consistent violations with respect to ballistic missiles and sub-nuclear testing by all nuclear states,

The P5 + 1 and other nuclear members in second tier security council unanimous consensus imposing sanctions against North Korea or any other country is claiming entitlement to nuclear weapons by them and highlight discriminatory precedence.

North Korea nuclear status is enforced upon the South Asian nation by United States and former imperial power Japan coherence using South Korea as pawn to militarize Asia Pacific.

With Japan and South Korea hosting U.S. military bases accompanied by rigorous exercise flaunting superpower prowess is provocative and an impetus to target nation North Korea to enhance defense mechanism in semblance with Iran in Middle East.

Furthermore, the illegal and immoral economic warfare waged by United States and allies misusing UNSC appropriately qualify for war crimes considering genocide committed in this regard.

The trade embargo predominantly hurt respective population being the victims in the arbitrary condemnation by those in defiance of the law applicable to all – apparently only in theory and not necessarily in practice.

UNSC sanctions against North Korea has debilitated economy with acute food shortage and basic necessities resulting in scores of deaths due to starvation and people suffering further exacerbated in United States militarism forcing North Korean divestments in defense build up rather than economic development.

Ironically, the incumbent ‘democrat’ administration under Nobel Peace Prize winning Presidency has rejected too many opportunities to reverse the predecessor trend against North Korea and likewise sponsoring terrorism in Syria.

In fact the overture from North Korean late leader Kim Jong Il for direct talks and negotiations including DPRK complete nuclear disarmament proposal conveyed through former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in 2010 was slighted rather than moving forward with constructive dialogue in pursuit of peaceful settlement.

North Korea requests for engagement with United States several times before to resolve the unnecessary standoff and merciless sanctions liberally used by UNSC dictating unreasonable terms and conditions on nations considered obstacle to hegemonic quest and perpetual warfare boosting arms industry, oil and banking cartels profiteering at the vast majority devastation.

Contrarily, the Obama administration has expanded militarization in Asia Pacific with President Barack Obama emphasizing United States determination to proliferate exponentially in Asia compared with Middle East in deterrence to emerging powers in the specific domain.

Another interesting factor being China with ongoing territorial disputes on land and international waters in South China Sea with Japan, India, Vietnam and Philippines is the co-sponsor with United States in the latest round of sanctions against North Korea.

China, Russia and western powers denounced North Korea’s third nuclear testing stating the imminent danger to international community although individually and collectively every one of them bear equal responsibility in this context.

Nuclear disarmament regardless of economic, military and political stature is no longer an option but a necessity for global peace and security.

The immediate resolution to escalating tension between North Korea and United States is to call off computer simulated drill titled Key Resolve involving around 10,000 American troops along with South Korean armed personnel scheduled to carry on aviation, land and marine regimen on March 11 to April 2013.

South Korea willingness to subjugation with foreign troops on national soil despite citizens experiencing sexual assault and violence from U.S. servicemen meant to safeguard South Korean rights attacking the same evidently eclipse the concept of democracy.

The U.S. violations in South Korea are no different from the abuse happening with Japanese residents at frequent intervals in Okinawa, only to be ignored by national leaderships in South Korea and Japan.

Similarly, Afghanistan is much worse in every respect with United States and International Special Armed Forces (ISAF) violence against local Afghans and their lives rendered expendable.

Inviting foreign forces for occupation on homeland eliminates sovereignty and over a certain period evolves into slavery with reciprocation of host guest relation identified as imperialistic trait. – Poignant lesson unheeded by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Patriot Missile deployment debacle in Turkey.

South Korea and Japan freedom mortgaged for false sense of security with United States military camp that has only heightened tensions nuclearizing North Korea and allowing China to increase nuclear and defense potential.

United States and western illegal invasion and occupation of foreign land whether by conquest or consent is the fundamental cause for world unrest and turmoil.

South Korea’s rhetoric towards North Korea and the latter response to unjustified inhumane financial and trade restrictions routinely misused by the west and the rest at UNSC compounds the otherwise resolvable matter.

The clear and concise solution to this unwanted crises could be easily thwarted with reunification of North and South Korea.

Imperialism could not survive let alone thrive in the absence of polarization with civilians paying the highest price in the divided territory.

The leaderships and segments facilitating foreign exertion of authority in sovereign internal affairs flagrantly betray their nation and electorate trust characterized as treasonous act.

Lifting all sanctions against North Korea combined with United States troop withdrawal from Korean Peninsula is the immediate remedy as well as requirement paving way for North and South peaceful union reviving Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) agreements and non-aggression pact signed between North and South to prevent military clashes by accident or volition.

North Korea frustration to United States provocation is well founded and DPRK reaction promoting CPRK peace treaty with South leaderships and populace would be potent to negate foreign power negative influence on South Korean government.

Simultaneously, the recently elected South Korean President Park Geun Hye outreach to North Korea adopting diplomatic course and abandoning western doctrine aimed at perpetual standoff for self-interest would be positive and conform to President Park’s message on campaign trail to persevere peace over violence against North Korea.

South Korea independence from foreign rule prevailing under United States military contingency threatening peace and progress not to mention citizens’ safety compromised in the series of incidents is paramount for Korea and regional stability.

Reiterating the fact that South Korea return to original existence in amalgamation with North Korea maximizing outcome from the synergies in terms of North military assets and South economic growth aided by North Korean substantial labor force would be pervasively beneficial.

Meanwhile, North Korea political adjustments delineating military from civilian governance towards constitutional based republican democratic system would ease lingering hostility and perhaps be appealing to South Korea in unification goal.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un introducing transparency with prudent political and economic restructuring focused on civil rights and liberty in conjunction with local productivity and self-sufficiency to overcome UNSC unethical and biased actions would yield desirable effects and prospective when forging alliance within and outside Asia.

North and South Korea recognition of fine attributes and shortcomings with mutual understanding and cooperation premised on peaceful and pragmatic approach is essential to reunite divided families and the nations together sharing common values and cultural heritage.

United States interference to destabilize nations is counterproductive and instead time and resource investments in addressing domestic issues would be wise as an urgent priority now and in the long run.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Park Geun Hye exercising restraints and rationality to preside over decision-making process is critical for national sovereignty and re-establishment of viable Democratic Republic of Korea.

Solidarity is key to deal with challenges emanating from familiar and foreign source.

Nuclear confrontation would be catastrophic for the world and best averted with restoration of communication channel especially the hot line in the demilitarized zone.

All sides are urged to observe sober interaction not saber rattling to defuse wanton altercation.

Wishing successful convergence of North and South Korea as a proud and free nation devoid of imperialistic and militaristic surrounding with a progressive, promising present and future.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

United States – G8 Summit May 2012

May 19, 2012

By Padmini Arhant

Warm Greetings! To G8 leaders at the 2012 summit in Camp David, Maryland.

The exclusive membership represented by North Atlantic nations – United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany with the exception of Russia and Japan might have the opportunity to shed light on current events in Europe and the usual targets North Korea, Iran and Syria on the security context.

However, the organization validity would be poignant upon integrative approach rather than isolationism that are obsolete and redundant evident in the status quo.

Dissolving G8 and improving G20 forums in dealing with global challenges would be frugal in the contemporary austerity era saving time and valuable taxpayer dollars besides correlation with relevant geopolitical and economic dynamics contributing to global sustenance preventing catastrophic meltdown.

Economy – Euro zone objectives lacking in candor and specificity responsible for members precipitous decline not only in economic status but also political stability considering the latest instructions from dominant powers to Greece on austerity, referendum and general governance.

Similarly France and PIGS countries sharing the dilemma expected to follow suit severely undermines national sovereignty in exchange for membership demanding more and providing little or none to the manufactured crises in the region.

While rigorous measures implemented much to the population detriment in Euro zone rescue efforts,

The source causing the chronic problems for euro zone subordinates –

The central banks viz. ECB, Bank of England, the privately owned Federal Reserve in the United States, IMF, World Bank and prominent western financial institutions having emerged the real beneficiaries instead of being held accountable ironically protected from any potential financial calamity.

Governments hit with worst economic recession in Europe are subjected to massive layoffs in the conditional monetary proposals neglecting euro zone taxpayers money wasted in hiring European commission bureaucrats apparently appointed for life costing ailing EU economies billions of euros and raising credibility factor in fiscal treaty.

Credit rating agencies downgrading Spain and Greek banks for bad loans on the books generating major liquidity concerns contrary to treatment against western counterparts – the origin of subprime mortgage and hedge fund debacle exempt from such standards and rewarded with taxpayer funded bailouts in trillions of dollars since 2008 until now.

The discriminatory practices directly affect public depleting hard earned savings exacerbating financial woes for college students and small-medium business owners constituting the backbone of the economy as workers, consumers and taxpayers in the society.

Another G8 dogma consistently pursued benefitting the privileged despite negative returns for nations in Latin America and Asia like South Korea is Free Trade Agreement.

Free Trade Agreement unlike Fair Trade Agreement sought by nations across the globe deprives negotiations on equal footing subjugating partners for unlimited access to domestic markets, national resources and human capital exploitation at respective citizens misery.

Again at this G8 meeting, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper enthusiastic pledge to promote Free Trade Agreement ignoring partner nations experience demonstrated in main street protests confirms the nexus group priority on global dominance.

Agriculture – G8 influential members in cohort with powerful corporations viz. Monsanto and agro based manufacturers behind farmers deteriorating conditions to survive and effectively compete in the globalized setting led to suicide and bankruptcies amongst farming community worldwide.

Politics and Global Security – Fundamental transformation with departure from U.S. led NATO military operations and provocative deployments adopting peace, diplomacy and economic development would clarify G8 commitment to humanitarian progress.

The political motives aimed at destabilizing West Asia through –

Arms supply sabotaging ceasefire in Syria,

Crippling sanctions against Iran even in the absence of nuclear capability per U.S. and Israeli military and intelligence reports,

Decimating Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya,

Authorizing Saudi Arabia with illegal annexation of Bahrain for strategic control is anything but democratic to intelligent minds in the international domain.

Environment – The trend continuity reflected in environmental goals with fossil fuel and nuclear industry financing political campaigns jeopardize climate talks from fruition.

More pertinently defense industry and Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) combined with Trilateral Commission driven foreign policy determination to establish one world government through permanent occupation and illegal invasions pose existential threat to humanity endangering life and habitat.

Transfer of power from oligarchy and monarchy with imperialistic aspirations to republic rule is the only viable solution for universal peace and prosperity.

The nation at the foothills of Himalayas – Nepal successfully dethroned monarchy rejecting feudalist system in modern age.

Western nations and allies in this regard maintaining medieval kingdoms and fiefdoms under ceremonial pretext but in reality wielding tremendous authority is a paradoxical trait for shadow powers envisaging space colonization.

Dreams for greater good could be an eventuality contradictory to narrow vision premised on self-interests remaining a mere fantasy.

People power is the imminent future for mankind with pervasive freedom, equality and tranquility.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Seoul – Nuclear Security Summit 2012

March 28, 2012

By Padmini Arhant

Warm Greetings! To world leaders at the Nuclear Security Summit 2012 in Seoul, South Korea.

This is an important event providing an opportunity to share and discuss global security concerns from nuclear arsenal.

The lingering tensions between Israel and Iran on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program is the bone of contention with United States as Israel’s strong ally having imposed crippling sanctions and disabled SWIFT freezing financial payments services on trade to exacerbate Iran’s economic conditions are pre-emptive measures in the long desired global confrontation.

Similarly closer to summit venue in the Korean peninsula – North Korea announcement to launch satellite into orbit and rocket positioning creating anxiety among neighbors and U.S. strategic partners South Korea and Japan.

Iran and North Korea participation rather than isolation in the summit would have been prudent in fostering constructive dialogue and meaningful solutions to impending nuclear issues.

Inclusion not exclusion transcending politics and ideology is crucial for global peace and harmony.

Within Asia, U.S promoted India’ s nuclear power project with enriched uranium supply from United States has prompted nuclear state Pakistan across the Indian border to pursue equivalent deal for formidability in Fissile Material Cut-Off Treaty (FMCT) vis-à-vis India as predicted escalating nuclear arms race in the region.

Not to mention the nuclear developments via nuclear energy in the Indian sub-continent extending further into China – another nuclear state adjusting potential to meet with changing nuclear weapons status emanating from U.S. initiative.

The situation also facilitates U.S. and NATO military operation premised on deterrence against Pakistan’s militant groups from gaining access to nuclear arsenal forming a never ending cycle in the indefinite mission for global dominance.

In the western front – United States presence through NATO expansion in Eastern Europe with missile defense system perceived as provocative stance by Russia considering the proximity and installation directed at Russia.

Accordingly Russia’s proactive defense shield strategy related to ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) besides U.S. tactical weapons and short-range missiles continues to arouse skepticism on both sides sparking a comment from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during recent Euro-Atlantic security conference in Moscow calling for Euro-Atlantic security community to evolve from myth into reality.

Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) comprising Russia and Central Asian countries membership to counteract NATO and U.S. aspirations in oil and natural gas rich territories along with U.S. declared plan at the Seoul summit to expand missile shield strategy in Asia and Middle East is yet another dimension to twenty first century global security challenge.

United States – the nuclear state with significant nuclear weapons in possession is non-signatory to NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty),

Notwithstanding history depicting U.S. – the only nation to have used nuclear arsenal – Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

Lately, in Iraq war U.S. and coalition partner United Kingdom dropped bombs containing depleted uranium with devastating generational impact on health and environment.

United States, United Kingdom and France have repeatedly asserted all options against Iran.

Regardless, they claim themselves responsible nuclear nations while condemning those deemed adversaries nuclear technology for medical isotopes in cancer treatment or,

Subscribing to western catered nuclear energy program – the precedence set by existing nuclear powers in the world utilizing nuclear energy as the pretext for nuclear weapons advancement.

Middle East Israel’s nuclear status widely known but not acknowledged by the state and western allies in the absence of IAEA or UN inspection and verification.

Israel took enormous pride in the acquisition of Iron Dome – supposedly the marvel in intercepting missiles and experimented the effectiveness with extra-judicial execution of Palestinian leader Zuhair al-Qaisi, the Secretary General of the Popular Resistance Committees in the Gaza Strip late March 2012 expecting victims’ retaliation subsequent to casualties including civilians in total 24 killed from this mock attack.

In return the rockets hitting southern Israel from Gaza were reportedly intercepted in a timely manner by Iron Dome resulting in no loss of lives on Israeli side.

Israel exercise with Iron Dome at the expense of some innocent Palestinian lives apparently in preparation for unilateral strike against Iran and after ascertaining Iron Dome capability,

The jingoism for catastrophic action against Iran disregarding global ramifications is subversive and counterproductive.

Furthermore, Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and CIA have confirmed that Iran has no nuclear weapons and without any progress in enhancement.

The U.S. military high command and intelligence are stated to be in agreement with the status quo.

In light of these facts from Israel and United States intelligence sources, the fervor on warfare in the volatile Middle East amid U.S. troops lives at stake in all directions is an invitation to disaster.

International community deserves valid explanation for the unnecessary turmoil via sanctions against Iran with no evidence of nuclear upgrade and frivolous moratorium on Iranian oil exports hurting average citizens and businesses around the world.

The potent tools – trade embargo and military intervention against targets for global dominance is the existential terror endangering life and habitat.

Israel also condemned for using white phosphorous in densely populated areas during December 2008 bombing of Gaza. The findings in UN report by Justice Richard Goldstone were never honored by United States and Israel till date.

Contrarily United States warned nations importing Iranian crude oil with economic sanctions suggesting any violation would have serious repercussions and obtained ten European nations and Japan’s compliance to U.S. demand while others like India proportionately cut back oil imports from Iran and mulling over alternative sources and costs to meet with substantial domestic energy consumption.

The hierarchy among nuclear and non-nuclear states with distinction such as responsible vs. reckless raises credibility factor highlighting hypocrisy on those nations part responsible for arbitrary engagement in widespread nuclear material distribution to forge strategic alliance aimed at global showdown.

Nuclear security summit is a golden opportunity for unanimous consensus on unconditional nuclear disarmament by all nuclear states without exception and pledging in solidarity for immediate implementation of nuclear arsenal disposal not excluding fissile material in individual stockpiles stored under nuclear energy production.

Non-nuclear states reaffirmation as NPT signatories would be impetus for others to follow suit.

Independent international committee with nuclear experts, ethicists and legal professionals alongside IAEA could begin the process to establish central monitoring of nuclear sites for systematic and simultaneous surrender incorporating checks and balances to evaluate delivery efficiency.

Above all accountability to address obligatory failure irrespective of stature would serve common interest.

Nuclear power program camouflaged to accelerate nuclear ambition is the tradition best abandoned especially with viable alternatives like solar, wind, and hydroelectric energy available in abundance.

The schism in government mishandling of Fukushima nuclear melt down is exposure on non-disclosure – latest reports reveal deliberate act in withholding public safety information by deleting emails and other sources with a red flag on imminent humanitarian crisis.

In conclusion nuclear free zone is the only guaranteed security to humanity.

Wishing success to all nations activists in denuclearization of the world.

Perhaps Seoul Nuclear Security Summit 2012 could be the torchbearer of permanent peace eliminating nuclear weapons from the planet.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

North Korea – Leader Kim Jong IL Legacy and Peace Prospects

December 19, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Sincere condolences to North Korea mourning leader Kim Jong Il demise.

North Korea isolation attributed to concentrated power in the political system maintaining communist framework is a major hindrance to economic development and regional stability.

The political apparatus discreet policies and covert operations created mistrust providing unnecessary opportunity for alienation and military confrontation.

North Korea under Kim Jong Il leadership suffered extreme hardships from severe economic sanctions and constant tension in the Korean Peninsula enabling nuclear capability, arms race and permanent U.S. military base in South Korea and Japan.

However, North Korean leader Kim Jong Il in 2010 extended olive branch requesting peaceful negotiations with United States for renewed bilateral and multilateral relations including nuclear disarmament.

Unfortunately, Washington slighted North Korean overture denying peace and diplomacy a chance under set guidelines to treat political rivals as such ‘axis of evil’ promoting provocative military exercise and weapons supply to the beleaguered states regardless of conventional and contemporary political status.

U.S military drills on Yellow Sea assisting South Korea for potential conflict with anticipated response from North Korea via missiles has been a routine activity,

Not to mention the angst amongst neighbors China and Japan over counterproductive exchange between U.S, and North Korea exacerbating peace talks and crisis resolution.

North Korea post Kim Jong Il governance is at the crossroads to either continue on the path of economic stagnancy caused by political repression that has forced millions into starvation and despair or disavow detrimental ideology for republic governed democracy perhaps leading towards reunification with South Korea.

The reunion could begin with resuming peaceful dialogue, trade partnerships, educational and cultural ties, transportation facility allowing families split across the border to unite on humanitarian grounds and above all sharing individual strengths and adeptness in the respective domains.

Militarily formidable North Korea merging with economically vibrant South Korea would eliminate persistent turmoil and dependency on foreign power for national security.

North Korean human capital and South Korean financial power together could be prospective for Korean citizens under unified Korea.

South Korea investments hosting U.S. military base could be divested to economic, education, advanced research and technology.

In the interim, North Korea under successor Kim Jong Un subjected to speculations on political fragility could allay national and international concerns through transparency in governance revealing the central authority.

Furthermore candid presentation of domestic and foreign policies in due course would ease apprehension and dispel any misconceptions about young leadership preparedness albeit under core political group oversight.

Military power confined to national defense rather than political interference would refine government functionality besides honoring national sovereignty.

Similarly other special interests intrusion in politics for personal ambitions could jeopardize national safety and sanctity.

The dawn of new beginning is historic and North Korea could transform present legacy of secrecy and reclusive policy into open society with power distributed among mainstream population and not within family ending dynasty in the twenty first century.

North Korean people have long endured political oppression and economic depression until now.

It is time to welcome the imminent change for a bright and promising future that remains with inevitable united Korea.

Good Luck and Best Wishes! To the people of North and South Korea for eternal peace and harmony that would guarantee continuous prosperity.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Korean Peninsula Peace Strategy – The Unified Korea

November 29, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

The recent skirmishes in the Korean Peninsula evolved into a deadly attack on the South Korean port Yeonpyeong.

According to the news reports – South Korea suffered casualties with two civilians and two marines killed in the North Korean firing forcing many residents to leave for the mainland.

Further the U.S and international news agencies also reported that prior to the attack, the North Korean authority and their ally China warned the United States to refrain from conducting military exercises with South Korea on the Yellow sea, the disputed territory between North and South Korea.

The joint naval drill on the economic route was characterized as ‘provocative’ by China and its key trading partner North Korea.

North Korean subsequent artillery response revived emotions among South Korean citizens affecting the latest diplomacy between the once unified nations.

Regardless of the military operation on the West sea of Korea, the North Korean action resulting in fatalities is reprehensible. The real victims in the avoidable quagmire are the South and North Korean population.

Simultaneously, it is important to highlight the missed opportunity following the former President Jimmy Carter visit to North Korea in September 2010.

The North Korean leadership’s unprecedented peace message through President Jimmy Carter requesting Washington to hold peace talks and Pyongyang eagerness to commit to de-nuclearization including permanent peace treaty with the United States and South Korea was not pursued leading to the status quo.

The urgency to move forward with the initiative was elaborated in the article titled:

‘Special Acknowledgment – President Jimmy Carter North Korea Visit’ published on this site on 09/20/10 under International Politics.

Had United States given North Korea the benefit of the doubt then it would have clarified Pyongyang’s sincerity or the lack there of considering the protocol through U.S. ex-President that emphasized serious and the highest possible communiqué even if it was not representative of the current administration.

It’s regrettable that invitation for peaceful dialogue is ignored fomenting military option as the preferred reaction to the twentieth century cold war generated political standoff.

When diplomacy is not the priority for the primary negotiator, it promotes belligerence accompanied by tragic loss of life as witnessed in the present discord.

Any attempts to salvage the situation in the aftermath appear disingenuous jeopardizing the trust factor among the participants expected to resolve the contentious issue.

After the Korean War (1950-1953) – the communist North Korea is a nuclear state with reportedly 8 to 12 nuclear arsenals in possession and preparing to strengthen its nuclear capability.

In April 2010, there were allegations against North Korea on the South Korean warship, the Cheonan drowning that claimed 46 sailors’ lives.

North Korea has exhibited missile stunts causing tensions in the Peninsula and now this time around the attack is detrimental to the humanitarian developments comprising South Korean food aid to North Korea notwithstanding tourism and trade relations benefiting both nations.

Similarly, South Korea and U.S. military activities foster hostility even though the defined purpose is stated as – restrain North Korea and remind its dependable partner China to intervene in the conflict to deter North Korean aggression.

China’s reluctance to comply with US demand is perceived as an act intended to protect national interests using North Korea to challenge United States in the multilateral entreaty.

It is clear from the existing situation that adversarial approach exacerbates the crisis with undesirable results such as deaths and destruction. There is tremendous display of power politics and self-interest contributing to the escalating turmoil in the region.

Evidently procrastination serves none except allowing North Korea to enhance nuclear armament leaving vast majority in abject poverty and isolation while South Korean citizens remain fearful and frustrated from the confrontation.

North Korea is extremely vulnerable despite the indicated nuclear proliferation and constant harassment of South Korea – the neighbor and trading partner. The impending power transition is yet another uncertainty in the political domain.

Therefore, North Korea could thrive from renouncing violence against the people of South Korea otherwise their relatives across the border. In all these years, the saber rattling is proved counterproductive and withheld economic progress.

Although both nations rely heavily on the external powers – i.e. Communist North Korea seeking China’s assistance and Capitalist South Korea dependent on the United States, they fail to recognize the fact that they could end the conflict today on their volition through bilateral peace treaty.

South Korea as a sovereign nation is at liberty to establish peace accord with North Korea irrespective of the international effort. The peaceful strategy would insure the democratic government pledge to improve security and reunite the families split across the border.

Hence, the reconciliation between the two nations could be aimed at the unification process with South Korean economy and North Korean defense power enabling a strong and prosperous Korea as one nation.

The achievement would be analogous to Germany – When the Berlin wall demolition facilitated the East and West Germany merger with significant advantage prevalent in the EU member.

Upon reunion with North Korea, South Korea could stimulate the domestic economy through local growth and consumption like China. The people in North Korea would at last be emancipated and become a valuable resource for the South Korean market economy.

North Korean military personnel would adequately address the national security concerns for the united Korea. It would be a phenomenal success for the people in terms of political stability, economic prosperity and social equality.

Tranquility in Korean peninsula would permeate to other parts of Asia and guarantee peace for all other nations in the continent.

North Korean commitment to nuclear disarmament could come to fruition in the course of constructive and meaningful engagement by the Korean leaderships.

In this context, the independent South Africa exemplified the smooth nuclear dismantling setting precedence for other nuclear powers to adopt ‘non-nuclear’ concept.

South Africa deserves praise for the monumental decision favoring humanity.

The nuclear free zone is the only effective policy for global peace and security.

North Korea peace offer could be directly presented to the people of South Korea and the deal finalized in good faith to demonstrate the leadership’s affirmation for solidarity yielding a unified Korea.

Sincere condolences to the South Korean families grieving for their deceased members and,

Best Wishes to North and South Korea for peaceful existence as one nation.

Thank you.

The Nobel Peace Laureate, President Jimmy Carter is renowned for great accomplishments prominently the long lasting Peace Accord between Egypt and Israel at Camp David during his Presidency and the magnificent work through the internationally acclaimed humanitarian organization – Habitat for Humanity providing relief to millions in many areas around the world.

As the founder of Habitat for Humanity, President Jimmy Carter has elevated the living standards and survival rate of the significant population across the globe.

President Jimmy Carter has voiced his legitimate concerns and demonstrated through actions the urgency to heed to rationality than ‘Super Power,’ mentality in foreign policy and environmental issues.

Recently, the former President visit to North Korea in releasing the innocent American citizen, 31 year old Aijalon Gomes from Boston, Massachusetts – is commendable and praiseworthy.

The victim was held prisoner and sentenced to eight years of hard labor in addition to being fined with $700,000 for trespassing and allegedly committing a “hostile act.”

President Jimmy Carter had not only been successful in the prisoner release but also reportedly sought peace message from Pyongyang.

(NECN) – Former President Jimmy Carter says he hopes the recent release of a Boston man held prisoner in North Korea can move peace talks forward with the country.

Carter says North Korean officials invited him to travel to there to discuss the release of Aijalon Gomes.

He says it took five months to get the trip cleared by the White House to free Gomes, who was sentenced to paying $700,000 and 8 years of hard labor.

Carter says he believes Gomes was treated humanely while he was being held for 7 months.

During his speech at the Carter Center, the former president also revealed that during his meeting with North Korean authorities, they repeatedly told him that they were interested in pursuing peace talks with other countries.

“They were eager to have peace talks that would lead to de-nuclearization of the peninsula,” he says, “and a permanent peace treaty with the United States and South Korea to replace the cease-fire that’s existed ever since I was a young submarine officer.”

Carter says that North Korean officials told him to bring a message back to Washington that they were interested in giving up their nuclear capability if the U.S., South Korea, Japan, and China were willing to negotiate with them.

Peace Prospect with North Korea – By Padmini Arhant

It’s clear from the Ex-President Jimmy Carter’s visit and presentation at the Carter Center that;

Earnest peace and diplomacy can prevail over belligerence restoring normal relations between Washington and regimes that are permanently secluded with a possible nuclear threat and war games.

There is enough evidence that the peace talks held since the former Republican President Ronald Reagan era until now has failed to focus on peaceful resolutions. The failure in all these peace discussions could be attributed to exhibiting the military might via missile capabilities rather than exploring the peace prospects through economic, trade relationships, social and cultural exchange as witnessed in February 2008 when the New York Philharmonic Orchestra visited North Korea displaying glimpse of hope in Washington-Pyongyang relationship.

When the olive branch is extended for a long lasting and meaningful peace treaty, it provides a unique opportunity for the leaderships engaged in the decades old peninsula peace talks to capitulate and move forward with the dialogue directed at de-nuclearization and political transformation.

Pyongyang’s message through President Jimmy Carter is phenomenal seeking conciliatory response from Washington. There is no reason to procrastinate on the promising peace summit likely to produce the desirable outcome considering the details outlined to President Jimmy Carter.

Any reluctance or delay from Washington and others to the historic meeting would categorically reveal the forces against peace and their real agenda.

People in North and South Korea along with Japan have endured the tensions with the United States struggling to obtain the reliable consensus from China in the quartet sessions held thus far.

North Korean officials’ statement breaks conventional barriers offering a new dimension for nuclear disarmament and further determination among Washington, Japan and South Korea could lead to a political freedom in the domestic front besides ending the standoff between the once united Korea.

The decision remains with Washington in seizing the moment to help the long suffering North Korean people from abject poverty, economic and social progress due to political isolation.

Peace in the Korean peninsula would be monumental permeating to other oppressed regions.

Declining the peace offer would be detrimental to the United States image and President Barack Obama campaign pledge for “Hope and Change.”

Moreover, any hesitation to clinch the deal would confirm the true commitment or the lack thereof by the concerned parties especially Washington.

Above all, it serves as a litmus test for Pyongyang to prove that the defined goals are genuine and the leadership is sincere in the long overdue peace agreement.

Default from any or all negotiating partners would be catastrophic for the people in the peninsula emphasizing the leaderships’ inability and weakness in delivering a positive result.

President Jimmy Carter as an excellent peace emissary for the United States has once again brought the wonderful gift to humanity awaiting spontaneous acknowledgment from Washington.

Hopefully, President Barack Obama along with the remaining leaders in the quartet would enable success through fruitful negotiations and grant eternal peace to the people in the peninsula.

Thank you.
