Pakistan – Democracy under Siege
June 20, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
United States and ally England once again adopt undemocratic tactics and this time around in the Indian sub-continent against Pakistan.
The western trio U.S., England and Israel imperialistic desire and far-fetched ambitions for global conquest through military intervention is no secret considering the deadly imprint throughout history continued until now with Blood River flowing across Middle East and massacres in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Pakistan has been the battleground for architects behind ill-fated PNAC (Project for New American Century) to start world war III gaining strategic advantage against emerging economies India, China and Russia subsequent to launching attacks on Iran.
Although India at present made to believe the United States ally analogous to the impression created with Pakistan not long ago in the so-called war on terror,
The western troika relation with allies is well known even among them such as Israel attack on USS Liberty killing U.S. marines in the absence of remorse or apology and England as well as Israel collusion in 9/11 attack.
Outside – former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, CIA trained and Bush family friend Osama Bin Laden, ex-Libyan President Colonel Gaddafi, Pakistani dictatorship General Pervez Musharraf, clinically pronounced dead Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak – are just few examples to confirm trustworthiness or the lack thereof in the extraordinary alliances only to be betrayed at the critical hour.
United States infiltration in Pakistan deploying mercenaries like Blackwaters aka XE services, paramilitary, CIA personnel on the ground with persistent drone strikes was legitimately condemned and resisted by democratically elected Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani unlike the predecessor and western partner General Musharraf or the contemporary agent in political opposition.
Pakistan had become thorn on the side for western powers when Prime Minister Gilani raised serious objection to United States occupation utilizing Shamsi air base to shower drones,
Conducted deceptive Abbottabad raid resurrecting the long dead U.S. friend and foe Osama Bin Laden for political scores aimed at Barack Obama’s re-election to second term having miserably lost in the mid-term election in 2010 and Gubernatorial race as well reflecting then incumbent Barack Obama administration failures and,
Surpassing all events was the unapologetic NATO assault on 24 Pakistani soldiers in the Salala outpost.
Accordingly, Pakistan Army Chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani issued shooting order on foreign air attacks following U.S. led NATO aggression in 2011.
The ramifications resulted in U.S. and Pakistan standoff and NATO supply routes blockade.
Furthermore, the incumbent President Barack Obama administration and United States Congress in the House and Senate reacted with aid withdrawal on Pakistan court decision sentencing Dr. Shakil Afridi reportedly hired by United States in scandalous Abbottabad mission – the dubious operation demanding unadulterated American investigation to avoid dangerous precedence in the abuse of executive power.
Whereas Pakistan judiciary claimed Dr. Afridi was on trial for alleged treason in Baluchistan secessionist movement.
The murder of Pakistan soldiers and nearly 40,000 civilians since U.S. invasion along north western borders of Waziristan and urban suicide bombings justifiably caused Islamabad to take a firm stance and,
Prime Minister Gilani expressed disapproval by declining to attend U.S. hosted Bonn summit in 2011.
In another instance, United States spy and CIA operative Raymond Davis shot down two unarmed civilians identified as farmers in the market and President Barack Obama administration warned Pakistan against prosecution or any legal action granting Mr. Davis diplomatic impunity irrespective of the crime committed in public view.
Concurrently United States Republican member at the House from California Dana Tyrone Rohrabacher introduced a bill on Baluchistan recognizing the State Union in Pakistan as an independent nation.
The unconstitutional showmanship arguably sparked anti-American sentiments in Pakistan and the Congressman action widely criticized for unnecessary provocation.
Ironically the self-proclaimed fiscal conservatives in U.S. Congress usually in the front line to filibuster legislation on funding programs benefitting American citizens and veterans squandered taxpayer dollars in the unwanted session.
Then onwards U.S. and Pakistan relationship precipitously deteriorated with United States escalating violence in all fronts on Pakistani soil with utter disregard for Pakistan’s sovereignty and,
Meanwhile U.S. State department wasted no opportunity with direct interference in Pakistan’s internal political affairs utilizing loyalists and servitudes to western powers within Pakistan’s diplomatic and political circle for removal of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani from office and government destabilization.
United States and England constant meddling in Pakistan rocking the first viable democracy in that nation with reprehensible practices like bribes, blackmail, drones, nuclear threats not only for surrender of sovereignty but also appeasement denied under Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The political maneuvering with Supreme Court abrupt disqualification of incumbent Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani also linked to western crafted corruption case against the son of present Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry prompting judicial verdict against western targeted leadership in the typical divide and conquer strategy not barring pressure on compliance to external intrusion – a trend in vogue for Washington to spread mayhem in the Indian sub-continent.
The outcome in Pakistan politics is counterproductive for United States with troops stationed in Pakistan’s backyard alongside jeopardizing safety of U.S. espionage members and contractors scattered across the nation.
Pakistan volatility also facilitates hegemony to exploit vulnerabilities displayed among spotlight starved failed opposition member with strong western ties exacerbating crisis for personal goals.
Notwithstanding spill over extending beyond boundary to complicit government in New Delhi administered by Washington on domestic matter including cabinet appointments depicting colonial era – Master – slave establishment.
Pakistan population could unanimously confront the western orchestrated political setbacks to deter progress in any dimension.
The western objective to subjugate Pakistan as a failed state and terror haven – a common reference in the media representing western authoritarian belief all too convenient to prolong warfare experimenting newly manufactured artillery and technology on scores of innocent civilians in rural and tribal areas of the country.
Additionally, terror recruitments a by-product of foreign dominance would always serve the purpose in the militarization of Indian sub-continent and Central Asia threatening the ultimate adversaries China and Russia.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani provided direction and consistently pursued peace on every occasion with western characterized ‘arch nemesis’ India and Afghanistan apart from neighbors in the region.
The government under Prime Minister Gilani was inclusive transcending gender and ethnicity – the premise for territorial hungered powers triggering sectarian conflict wherever possible.
Pakistan’s future is dependent on defending national interest prohibiting overseas influence and local opportunists capitalizing the moment for political gains lacking in vision and solutions to myriad problems confronting the beleaguered state.
Accepting the status quo is reminiscent of western coup d’état in Iran that toppled the democratically elected head of the state – DR. Mohammad Mossadeq for his commitment to democracy free of western coercion.
Pakistan being a sovereign state need not succumb to prevalent development and instead exemplify resilience against all challenges with reinstatement of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Prime Minister Gilani stood for PPP (Pakistan’s People Party) until the last minute to preserve democratic system from cracking and unscrupulous elements at the political helm from abroad aimed at Pakistan’s fragmentation used the fragility to embark on sacrificial ritual.
The Swiss bank accounts do not pertain to Prime Minister Gilani and the circumstances for conviction as contempt of court despite defense counsel’s elaborate evidence based facts presented on the accused behalf exposes inherent weaknesses and flaws undermining judicial law in the highest court on land.
In this context, the earlier regime widely regarded as the western puppet General Pervez Musharraf offshore accounts especially US $10 billion aid per western sources as incentive to invade Pakistan somehow not raised by Pakistan political rivals in the accountability fervor.
Perhaps the western backed dissent in judiciary and polity against leader Gilani apprehensive about drawing national focus on General Musharraf treasure cove given their harrowing experience as political prisoners during the military rule.
Pakistan is at the crossroads to either remain steadfast in rallying behind Yousuf Raza Gilani leadership epitomizing courage integrity and proven track record in moving the nation forward and above all preventing foreign incursion or resign to perpetual turmoil compromising freedom and economic prospects to satisfy supremacists usurpation.
Hopefully rationality and prudence will triumph in the acknowledgment of genuine leadership.
Best Wishes to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and people of Pakistan in endeavors that guarantee peace and success to the nation at large.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Pakistan – Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Exoneration
May 24, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Pakistan Supreme Court held Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani contempt of court for not obliging order to write to Swiss Bank authority regarding President Asif Ali Zardari alleged accounts considered tax evasion despite national constitutional immunity to Presidency during term in office and,
Swiss Bank policy declining such requests on client-company confidentiality breach unless probe mandated by country’s legislation and bilateral agreement between Switzerland and Pakistan.
Prime Minister Gilani’s defense arguably based on the constitutional factor and Swiss bank customer protection deal – presented the predicament to the highest court and unfortunately failed in convincing the judiciary that ruled the verdict.
Although protocol allows Prime Minister Gilani to charter course for vindication,
The Supreme Court conviction on the head of the state impairs functionality with pervasive impact on the citizens and the nation.
The honorable Supreme Court action might be premised on national wealth recovery and rule of law establishment. Both notions are praiseworthy.
However, the judiciary bound by constitutional law in upholding national constitution that in this particular instance provides the office of Presidency impunity against investigation and legal ramifications until tenure expiry –
Perhaps generates odd situation considering truly democratic institutions are governed by constitution and any changes made possible through legislative amendment rather than judicial interpretation.
Besides individuals with Swiss Bank and other overseas accounts are legally entitled to prove legitimate earnings from otherwise prior to general assumption.
Hence given the system framework and civil rights combined with constitution granted Presidential privilege,
The misplaced target – Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani appropriately eligible for exoneration i.e. charges dismissal with prejudice.
Prime Minister Gilani compliance to the court order would be futile wasting valuable time and resources apart from causing unnecessary political rift in the first ever viable civilian rule in Pakistan.
On broader perspective – corruption and taxation revenues is a worldwide epidemic seeking collective measures beginning with tax reform in the domestic front and global treaty to enable nations in tracking and receiving tax funds owed to national exchequer or treasury.
International cooperation enforced via universal accord binding banking, commerce and economic sector not barring political structure such as governments is the only effective means to dispense with burgeoning corruption and tax fraud.
The contemporary problems for nations crippled with corruption are the tax loopholes and systemic breakdown in ethical efficacy that needs fundamental change to realize positive outcome.
With respect to Pakistan political stability – Under President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani leadership significant progress made with resolutions passed in Parliament protecting national sovereignty severely compromised until recently in U.S. led NATO military interventions and,
More inclusive cabinet appointments with caliber other than consistent strides on myriad issues especially threatening security handled adeptly demonstrating restraints and rationality.
Similarly Pakistan’s army led by General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani admirably defended the nation at the critical times with internal and external challenges constantly hindering efforts against incessant violence.
Prime Minister Gilani appointed ISI Chief Lt. Gen. Zaheer-ul-Islam poignant in strengthening ties among all three branches – the government representing the people, the army focused on national defense and intelligence agency directed at eliminating potential danger from within and offshore.
Pakistan citizens deserve peace and rapid economic development deprived in the ongoing tension and extremities inside the country largely emanating from sources engaged in regional destabilization.
Parliament overwhelming majority decision defining terms and conditions on foreign powers engagement in the so-called war on terror not only deters continuous turmoil but also reminds forces to refrain from undermining Pakistan’s independent identity.
Solidarity is key in Pakistan or anywhere to resolve issues confronting the nation amid turbulence for global dominance and subjugation.
Pakistan army and intelligence commitment in disarming militancy and dismantling terror networks in the country alongside government deportation of any elements from abroad would substantially reduce killings and safeguard innocent lives across the nation.
Maintaining harmony while remaining confined to institutional role would facilitate efficient governance.
Pakistan is on the right path in pursuing diplomacy with neighbors and improving trade relations imperative to alleviate population suffering on all sides.
Nuclear free zone predominantly dependent upon United States, Israel, United Kingdom and allies leading the world in denuclearization commencing with them and abandoning their far-fetched aspirations guided by self-detrimental ideology.
The western powers indulgence evidently hurting respective economies and credibility in the international domain.
Pakistan is a sovereign nation with long possessed rights to self-determination.
Therefore unity among all branches – legislative, executive, military, intelligence and judiciary complementing one another paramount to move the nation forward in all dimensions and cherish the freedom gained from immense sacrifice until today.
Pakistan society with proud heritage, tremendous talent and courage is a strong and vibrant nation.
The youth in particular are great assets and investments in education, economy and social advancement extremely vital for nation building.
Congratulations! To Pakistan’s democratic power nearing full term and,
Good Luck! To Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, President Asif Ali Zardari and political leaderships in peaceful resolution of the prevalent matter exercising diligence and prudence in national and republic interest.
Nations thrive when united and struggle upon divided with opportunists winning in the increasingly volatile environment.
Wishing people in Pakistan ever lasting peace and prosperity.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

United States – NATO Summit 2012
May 20, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Warm Greetings! To world leaders attending the NATO summit 2012 in Chicago, Illinois.
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) led by United States comprising the wings instrumental in the flight disproportionately represents the military might and accordingly responsible for massive casualties and destruction in the embattled zones around the world.
The alliance for formidability creating fear and concerns widely perceived as intimidation against sovereign nations justifiably deserves scrutiny behind the purpose of operations and extension contributing to conventional and nuclear arms race since formation.
NATO presence collectively poses major threat to peace and disarmament with proliferating nuclear arsenal and ammunitions,
Besides fomenting militancy and terror networks emerging from vulnerability and hopelessness generated in the cyclical violence costing lives and taxpayer dollars with no accountability.
The military missions involving NATO thus far has been controversial and counterproductive considering interventional means and magnitude often violating international law never investigated for fairness applying uniform standards and prevention in the ongoing engagement.
The tremendous turmoil and trepidation among nations bogged down by warfare exacerbating victims’ tragedy especially with NATO drone strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan demonstrate the questionable motives in the prolonged military offense with decisive outcome being troop withdrawal and NATO assault termination.
Despite NATO intrusion in Afghanistan and Pakistan for over a decade,
The dismal prognosis according to the U.S. military claim on the ever-increasing terror networks perhaps different in nomenclature but otherwise portending risks greater than before presented in defense budget spending deprives nation and citizens the opportunity for economic recovery.
NATO maintenance in the backdrop of negative attributes evidently signifies enormous drain on taxpayers’ revenue in the austerity period defeating the objectives to contain terrorism particularly the organization epitomizing traits endangering life and environment witnessed in Libya.
The defense industry arguably thrives under sprawling military capacity with renewable demands at humanity’s detriment and the profits not necessarily reviving the economy.
NATO and U.S. widespread military base worldwide is a burden established in the status quo and American taxpayers specifically the youth population dealing with burgeoning debt crisis not only on the student loans but also the future at stake for them with elected leaderships inability and lack of political will to reverse the trend in population and national interest.
However, the ultimate power remaining with people – the change made possible through ballots rejecting fundamentally flawed policies reflected in candidates’ performance and campaign finance other than individual dual platform i.e. rhetoric on campaign trail to win elections and upon election serving the substantial donors agenda.
Yet another contentious issue surrounding NATO is the expansion in Eastern Europe and anti-missile defense (AMD) installations jeopardizing START (Strategic Arms Reduction
Treaty) with Russia necessitating resurgence in short and long range missiles such as ICBM – Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles that hinders contemporary reset in the relation between the two nations.
NATO summit this year focused on Afghanistan security force, army recruitment, training and sustenance post U.S. exit in 2014 alongside U.S. military permanent settlement plan beyond the timeframe estimated at $4.1 billion with U.K. Australia and Germany reportedly delivered the agreed interim amount followed by Canada apparently contemplating on the sum towards this requirement.
As mentioned earlier in this context, Afghanistan military dependency on the west equivalent to Egypt dilemma experienced by the people with never ending interference undermining sovereignty and quest for democracy violently suppressed long after U.S. and Israel’s ally former President Hosni Mubarak departure.
Afghanistan as U.S. and NATO proxy government entirely relying on western funding when western economies are in dire state drastically affecting the respective citizens,
The pledge to military component over Afghanistan’s economic development indicative of perpetual confrontation with Taliban resisting foreign occupation leaving the citizens with no alternative but to support the resistance.
Afghanistan utilizing country’s resources to build economy and address national defense, political and social reform would essentially be the cornerstone for war fatigued Afghans desperately seeking end to violence and moving forward with positive growth conforming to twenty first century progress.
Again turning away from poppy cultivation – the source destroying lives with funding for incessant warfare, systemic corruption and political instability would be a remarkable beginning guaranteed to improve overall situation.
Likewise in Pakistan, NATO concentration on north western border Waziristan tracking militants for several years with sophisticated technology and air raids having killed many tribal members in that area and repeat incidents elsewhere along the territory obviously backfire in the anti-western sentiments expressed across the nation.
United States military with new age weaponry and equipment nonetheless exhausted troops on revolving combat duty some demoralized in the perennial chase for Al Qaeda and Taliban lost credibility in strategy and reason provided in the so-called war on terror.
NATO confined to protecting own national frontiers instead of tagging along United States would be honorable and pragmatic reducing or even eliminating existential terror produced for commercial gains and geopolitical advantage.
Adopting peaceful negotiations, diplomacy and respect for nations’ independent status absolutely important to repair and restore tarnished image.
Promoting domestic and overseas economy through mutually beneficial trade agreements, educational programs and cultural exchange – the catalyst for universal peace and harmony.
Life is to be celebrated not violated in the journey to self-liberation from deeds or karma determining the destiny.
Best wishes for global peace and solidarity with actions always guided by compassion and rationality.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Seoul – Nuclear Security Summit 2012
March 28, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Warm Greetings! To world leaders at the Nuclear Security Summit 2012 in Seoul, South Korea.
This is an important event providing an opportunity to share and discuss global security concerns from nuclear arsenal.
The lingering tensions between Israel and Iran on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program is the bone of contention with United States as Israel’s strong ally having imposed crippling sanctions and disabled SWIFT freezing financial payments services on trade to exacerbate Iran’s economic conditions are pre-emptive measures in the long desired global confrontation.
Similarly closer to summit venue in the Korean peninsula – North Korea announcement to launch satellite into orbit and rocket positioning creating anxiety among neighbors and U.S. strategic partners South Korea and Japan.
Iran and North Korea participation rather than isolation in the summit would have been prudent in fostering constructive dialogue and meaningful solutions to impending nuclear issues.
Inclusion not exclusion transcending politics and ideology is crucial for global peace and harmony.
Within Asia, U.S promoted India’ s nuclear power project with enriched uranium supply from United States has prompted nuclear state Pakistan across the Indian border to pursue equivalent deal for formidability in Fissile Material Cut-Off Treaty (FMCT) vis-à-vis India as predicted escalating nuclear arms race in the region.
Not to mention the nuclear developments via nuclear energy in the Indian sub-continent extending further into China – another nuclear state adjusting potential to meet with changing nuclear weapons status emanating from U.S. initiative.
The situation also facilitates U.S. and NATO military operation premised on deterrence against Pakistan’s militant groups from gaining access to nuclear arsenal forming a never ending cycle in the indefinite mission for global dominance.
In the western front – United States presence through NATO expansion in Eastern Europe with missile defense system perceived as provocative stance by Russia considering the proximity and installation directed at Russia.
Accordingly Russia’s proactive defense shield strategy related to ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) besides U.S. tactical weapons and short-range missiles continues to arouse skepticism on both sides sparking a comment from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during recent Euro-Atlantic security conference in Moscow calling for Euro-Atlantic security community to evolve from myth into reality.
Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) comprising Russia and Central Asian countries membership to counteract NATO and U.S. aspirations in oil and natural gas rich territories along with U.S. declared plan at the Seoul summit to expand missile shield strategy in Asia and Middle East is yet another dimension to twenty first century global security challenge.
United States – the nuclear state with significant nuclear weapons in possession is non-signatory to NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty),
Notwithstanding history depicting U.S. – the only nation to have used nuclear arsenal – Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.
Lately, in Iraq war U.S. and coalition partner United Kingdom dropped bombs containing depleted uranium with devastating generational impact on health and environment.
United States, United Kingdom and France have repeatedly asserted all options against Iran.
Regardless, they claim themselves responsible nuclear nations while condemning those deemed adversaries nuclear technology for medical isotopes in cancer treatment or,
Subscribing to western catered nuclear energy program – the precedence set by existing nuclear powers in the world utilizing nuclear energy as the pretext for nuclear weapons advancement.
Middle East – Israel’s nuclear status widely known but not acknowledged by the state and western allies in the absence of IAEA or UN inspection and verification.
Israel took enormous pride in the acquisition of Iron Dome – supposedly the marvel in intercepting missiles and experimented the effectiveness with extra-judicial execution of Palestinian leader Zuhair al-Qaisi, the Secretary General of the Popular Resistance Committees in the Gaza Strip late March 2012 expecting victims’ retaliation subsequent to casualties including civilians in total 24 killed from this mock attack.
In return the rockets hitting southern Israel from Gaza were reportedly intercepted in a timely manner by Iron Dome resulting in no loss of lives on Israeli side.
Israel exercise with Iron Dome at the expense of some innocent Palestinian lives apparently in preparation for unilateral strike against Iran and after ascertaining Iron Dome capability,
The jingoism for catastrophic action against Iran disregarding global ramifications is subversive and counterproductive.
Furthermore, Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and CIA have confirmed that Iran has no nuclear weapons and without any progress in enhancement.
The U.S. military high command and intelligence are stated to be in agreement with the status quo.
In light of these facts from Israel and United States intelligence sources, the fervor on warfare in the volatile Middle East amid U.S. troops lives at stake in all directions is an invitation to disaster.
International community deserves valid explanation for the unnecessary turmoil via sanctions against Iran with no evidence of nuclear upgrade and frivolous moratorium on Iranian oil exports hurting average citizens and businesses around the world.
The potent tools – trade embargo and military intervention against targets for global dominance is the existential terror endangering life and habitat.
Israel also condemned for using white phosphorous in densely populated areas during December 2008 bombing of Gaza. The findings in UN report by Justice Richard Goldstone were never honored by United States and Israel till date.
Contrarily United States warned nations importing Iranian crude oil with economic sanctions suggesting any violation would have serious repercussions and obtained ten European nations and Japan’s compliance to U.S. demand while others like India proportionately cut back oil imports from Iran and mulling over alternative sources and costs to meet with substantial domestic energy consumption.
The hierarchy among nuclear and non-nuclear states with distinction such as responsible vs. reckless raises credibility factor highlighting hypocrisy on those nations part responsible for arbitrary engagement in widespread nuclear material distribution to forge strategic alliance aimed at global showdown.
Nuclear security summit is a golden opportunity for unanimous consensus on unconditional nuclear disarmament by all nuclear states without exception and pledging in solidarity for immediate implementation of nuclear arsenal disposal not excluding fissile material in individual stockpiles stored under nuclear energy production.
Non-nuclear states reaffirmation as NPT signatories would be impetus for others to follow suit.
Independent international committee with nuclear experts, ethicists and legal professionals alongside IAEA could begin the process to establish central monitoring of nuclear sites for systematic and simultaneous surrender incorporating checks and balances to evaluate delivery efficiency.
Above all accountability to address obligatory failure irrespective of stature would serve common interest.
Nuclear power program camouflaged to accelerate nuclear ambition is the tradition best abandoned especially with viable alternatives like solar, wind, and hydroelectric energy available in abundance.
The schism in government mishandling of Fukushima nuclear melt down is exposure on non-disclosure – latest reports reveal deliberate act in withholding public safety information by deleting emails and other sources with a red flag on imminent humanitarian crisis.
In conclusion nuclear free zone is the only guaranteed security to humanity.
Wishing success to all nations activists in denuclearization of the world.
Perhaps Seoul Nuclear Security Summit 2012 could be the torchbearer of permanent peace eliminating nuclear weapons from the planet.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

http://youtu.be/4mA-9lL6F9EPakistan – Pro-Democracy Resolution
January 18, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
The recent political tension in Pakistan contained through recognition of powers with respective government body is praiseworthy.
Pakistan National Assembly passed pro-democracy resolution with overwhelming majority is a monumental step in strengthening democratic system.
The resolution upholding parliamentary procedure, federation governance and state institutions functionality all within constitutional parameters delineate individual responsibility in adherence to democratic principles with republic retaining absolute power.
The house acknowledged sovereignty belonging to Almighty Allah and,
Parliamentary authority exercised by people elected representatives with parliament being the confluence of consolidated vision and wisdom pledging allegiance to national interest.
Further the national assembly unanimously endorsed the incumbent political leadership of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterating full confidence and trust in leading the nation on democratic path to dispel speculations on Pakistan’s political stability.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani stating utmost respect for judiciary reminded critics of the crucial steps taken upon swearing into office in releasing judges then kept under arrest by former President Pervez Musharraf during emergency rule.
Prime Minister Gilani has given assurance in obliging Supreme Court order on National Reconciliation Ordinance matter.
National Reconciliation Ordinance was unilaterally introduced by predecessor General Pervez Musharraf providing blanket amnesty to law offenders on various corruption scandals such as black money in Swiss bank accounts, embezzlements and tax evasions.
President Musharraf rule implementing economically detrimental ordinance burdened taxpayers in semblance with rest of the global society enduring corruption epidemic.
Pakistan Supreme Court subsequent order to null and void the unconstitutional measure for transparency and remedial response on corruption charges with the current political leadership has led to NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) hearing.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is accused in contempt of Supreme Court order calling for PM action to repeal NRO currently protecting unlawful wealth acquisition and management specifically citing President Asif Ali Zardari Swiss bank accounts maintained under privileged status immunity.
The dilemma for Prime Minister Gilani is President Asif Ali Zardari personal assets scrutiny posing litmus test on functional democracy in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani request to Swiss Bank for full disclosure of accounts and disproportionate assets on all Pakistan nationals including President Asif Ali Zardari would categorically exemplify the government’s democratic nature,
Alongside satisfying Supreme Court’s legitimate inquest on national wealth accountability.
Illegal wealth accumulation directly affects national economy contributing to economic and social inequality in global society.
Crime committed with impunity among political establishment and affluent elitists is the culture threatening meaningful democracy and economic progress world over.
Complacency to hierarchical income distribution widening gap between haves and have-nots diminish prospects for disadvantaged demography prolonging status quo.
Pakistan could perhaps be the trailblazer in transcending politics for revenue recovery besides restoring seriously jeopardized national image and credibility – the contemporary trend across the globe.
Leaderships on spotlight are often required to demonstrate convictions with result-oriented actions.
The decisions demanding diligence and courage for national benefit stand testimony to leadership trustworthiness and ability to deal with challenges ahead.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and coalition partners have a unique opportunity to lead the nation beyond conventionalism in addressing economically crippling corruption issue.
Pro-democracy resolution is a new chapter in Pakistan’s modern history with rationality prevailing over ideology not to mention the declaration on sovereignty reclaimed in accordance with statehood identity.
Good Luck and Best Wishes! To people of Pakistan and leaderships representing democratic institutions in peaceful reconciliation of all issues.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Pakistan – Geo Political Dynamics
January 15, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Pakistan dilemma from memo gate involving political and military leadership is an attempt to destabilize the country threatening national security and democratic viability.
Memo gate originating from Washington is directed at weakening Pakistan political and security apparatus for their defiance in restricting access to U.S. and NATO aggression.
Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani initially appointed by former President General Parvez Musharraf with subsequent three-year extension from current Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.
The undercurrent in Pakistan politics is dispensable diversion emanating from memo gate premised on global domineering forces’ specifically United States security agency obsolete and failed ideology – manufacture crisis to implement policy i.e. occupy nations violating sovereignty for strategic interest.
Memo gate is alleged note from Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari through former ambassador to U.S., Hussain Haqqani requesting United States Military command – the then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen to avert army coup against civilian government.
Although the former U.S. ambassador Hussain Haqqani has already been removed from the position and detained in Pakistan for trial presumably on treason charges,
The protagonist – United States administration coerced conspirator Mansoor Ijaz is prevented from travelling to Pakistan and testify in the Supreme Court on pivotal national issue.
Mansoor Ijaz background according to – The Guardian, United Kingdom – Thank you.
“A controversial American businessman, frequent media commentator and a ferocious critic of Pakistan’s military,
Mansoor Ijaz is a former wall street financier with strong connections to the American security establishment.”
News report also elaborates Mansoor Ijaz claim on two accounts contradictory to one another.
I. “Memo briefing by former Ambassador Hussian Haqqani acknowledged as accuser’s friend,
II. Successively, Mansoor Ijaz and Pakistan ISI (Inter-services intelligence agency) Chief, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Shuja Pasha discreet meeting at a hotel on Park Lane in London to share the so-called explosive information.
Notwithstanding Mansoor Ijaz earlier criticism of ISI Chief Pasha as ‘known babysitter’ of Osama Bin Laden in the wake of U.S Navy Seals operation in Abbottabad.
Evidently, Mansoor Ijaz presence in Pakistan to unravel the ill-fated plan against Pakistan society represented by political establishment, military and intelligence institutions is paramount to contain the spiraling controversy.
Mansoor Ijaz failure to appear in Pakistan’s court considering prominent role played in instigating one against another would clarify the crisis source.
Furthermore, Mansoor Ijaz is confirmed to have stated his earlier intentions to reveal all i.e. ‘unaltered truth’ on the burgeoning issue in Pakistan courts only to be retracted now upon U.S. administration behest.
Pakistan has been the combat zone in the so-called war on terror since 9/11 and the predecessor President Musharraf – a close ally in the U.S operation from Pakistan facilitated army bases including drone attacks in exchange for $10 billion in military aid transforming Pakistan into a beleaguered nation.
General Musharraf rule encompassed –
Close ties with Afghan Taliban enabling embassy in Pakistan.
Osama Bin Laden mobility and medical treatment in Rawalpindi,
Madrassas proliferation paving way to myriad terror networks,
Pakistan Taliban emergence,
Various nefarious characters granted amnesty,
Pakistan ISI collusion with terror groups on General Musharraf’s watch summarize the President in reserve legacy as ‘reliable’ partner in the eternal war on terror.
Additionally, President Musharraf resumé comprise –
Abandoning constitution and national elections,
Opposition members and Supreme Court justices’ imprisonment,
Nuclear states – Pakistan and India tensions escalated into near nuclear confrontation during Kargill war in 1999 and,
Last but not the least,
Implicated in Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto assassination with arrest warrant issued upon returning to Pakistan.
Given the trajectory – the whole enchilada betraying national and international trust,
Concerted effort among hegemony and foreign conglomerate owned Indian media sponsoring General Parvez Musharraf reinstatement to power euphemize international acceptance theory.
Further, the expectation reveals the paradoxical selection criteria on leaderships in the world yearning for peace and liberty.
General Parvez Musharraf – the self-exiled leader in London preparation to resume office in semblance with previous Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto re-entry to power could be miscalculating the sentiments among those affected by the General’s authoritarianism.
The development is yet another trial and error seeking tragedy.
Post Musharraf period in Pakistan has been tumultuous with history repeating itself in Bhutto dynasty.
Contemporary politics conundrum is leadership appointment serving exclusive and foreign interests rather than republic choice election.
Political parties outreach to dynasties and celebrities promote symbolic politics severely lacking in substance and solutions to mainstream problems in life.
Alienated from world realities with focus on individual aspiration to sustain fame and fortune, the misrepresentation exacerbates the vast majority plight.
Essentially affluence influencing society could be multidimensional.
Anything yielding positive outcome benefitting humanity at large would dignify both benefactor and beneficiary.
However, wealth acquired by illicit means invested to propitiate entities from average citizen to Almighty God is corruption for absolvent exhibiting true colors with serious repercussions in the end justifying the means to success.
The trend with conspicuous barriers also deters unsung heroes and geniuses dedicated to community and national service from entering the political domain.
Transformation in this regard could begin with political reform through electoral eligibility determined by wisdom, will power and track record to serve the people as well as the nation rather than wealth or stardom gaining prominence.
People deserve qualified candidacies adept in dealing with national and international challenges prioritizing public service over private goals.
Personal objectives would reflect honesty and integrity in caring for life other than self and the next of kin defining human character – the ethereal beauty unlike the skin deep cosmetic appearance.
Reverting to Pakistan political dynamics – As autonomous dominion, Pakistan is a classic example in global dominance breaching national sovereignty.
Pakistan military and intelligence institutions having been engaged in coup until recently i.e. General Parvez Musharraf governance,
The incumbent civilian government concern may not necessarily be misplaced in that context.
Historically, the justifications for military coups in Pakistan were ironically the civilian government abuse of power, chronic corruption and feudalism demonstrated in colonial loyalty.
Though there is element of truth in that respect,
Those subverting Pakistan autonomy changed course and applied same tactics on Pakistan ISI and military to a large extent in cohort with foreign power.
Nevertheless, the latest events in Pakistan –
U.S. raid in Abbottabad directly violating Pakistan statehood with accusations leveled against Pakistan military and intelligence about Osama Bin Laden,
When the entire operation posed credibility factor especially in the absence of evidence evading public demand on Osama Bin Laden corpse supposedly disposed in North Arabian Sea conclusively depicts falsehood.
Pakistan citizens have long endured fatalities from U.S. and NATO drone assaults with no value for life in the clueless and endless mission.
The recent NATO strikes killing 24 Pakistan soldiers and civilian casualty is the tipping point exacerbated with U.S. refusal to apologize on the fatal attacks in Pakistan soil.
The event legitimately attracted worldwide condemnation and brought the allies – Pakistan and U.S together with NATO on brinkmanship.
Consequently, Pakistan Army Chief General Kayani in national defense alerted Pakistani forces to retaliate upon incident recurrence and called for evacuation from Shamsi air base – the launching pad in drone attacks that has claimed more civilian lives than militants.
Prime Minister Gillani government decision to skip Afghan peace conference in Bonn, Germany has apparently bruised emotions in the political circle even though the U.S. apology on the loss of lives was considered a tall order.
The shock treatment from Pakistan military regarded subservient ally has upset the applecart in the ambition against Iran via Pakistan prompting U.S. security agency contact Mansoor Ijaz performance in memo gate to discredit Pakistan Army Chief Kayani and Prime Minister Gillani potentially paving way for the U.S. and NATO favored ally General Parvez Musharraf declaring arrival in homeland amid domestic rift.
Simultaneously the alternative opposition Tehreek-e-Insaf led by cricket star Imran Khan eager to seize political opportunity weighing in with earlier election to dismiss Gillani government.
The fact of the matter being – Pakistan Army Chief General Kayani honorably defended his country at the critical hour by standing up against quintessential threats and repeatedly pledged allegiance to democratic Pakistan eliminating skepticism on possible military coup.
Likewise, Pakistan ISI Chief Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha submitted his resignation that was declined by Prime Minister Gillani following the U.S. indulgence in Abbottabad against international law.
The two separate phenomenal strikes by United States in Pakistan territory share common feature – Pakistan sovereignty compromised.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani conciliatory response with Pakistan military in extending General Kayani’s term and intelligence agency by rejecting Lt. Gen. Pasha’s resignation exemplify the administration’s trust in both organizations – recognized as national pillars by Prime Minister Gillani.
The three leaderships have displayed extraordinary courage and decorum in protecting Pakistan’s interest despite constant external intervention to sabotage stability in the prevalent besetment.
Pakistan has been the experimental battleground to test innovative weaponry with U.S. prolonged warfare allowing mercenaries, CIA deployed paramilitary operatives and foreign agents freely engaged in specific agenda.
Pakistan’s solidarity is imperative now and in the future with full co-operation among three leaderships working alongside and not against each other in rebuilding the nation with tremendous talent.
It is equally imperative for Pakistan military and intelligence to crackdown on terror networks and militancy – the pretext for U.S. occupation in Pakistan.
Pakistan ISI Chief Pasha implementing effective measures in breaking ties with jihadists and terror links within and across the border in Afghanistan would address the terror haven stigma.
Pakistan citizens are exhausted from uncertainties spreading despair and dire situation all around.
Conducting elections prior to end of term is unaffordable and unnecessarily embolden opportunist factions in misguided ventures.
Civilian government under Prime Minister Gillani is a stable and energized team.
Prime Minister Gillani’s ability to work with coalition partners and their willingness to maintain alliance is noteworthy.
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari frequent departure from the country for anything other than health reasons provides fodder to selective media anxious to sensationalize ordinary circumstances into hysteria.
The present civilian government could perhaps modify Presidential status through constitutional amendment.
Furthermore relieving President Zardari from the post and replacing with civil society member would pronounce functional democracy.
Pakistan core leaderships representing the people bear responsibility to safeguard republic needs – a safe and secure Pakistan investing valuable time and resources for rapid economic growth.
The world would also be at ease with democracy prevailing in Pakistan in order to succeed in the competitive sluggish global economy.
Good Luck and Best Wishes to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, Pakistan Army Chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, ISI Chief Ahmed Shuja Pasha and the people of Pakistan in peaceful reconciliation.
Peace, progress and prosperity to Pakistan having survived tribulations until now.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Indian sub-continent –Sovereignty Return and Independent Republic Status
January 10, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Independence struggle for India and Pakistan resumes in the twenty first century.
British Imperial subjugation of the Indian sub-continent prevalent until now as colonies with autonomy limited to self-governance.
However, sovereignty still maintained with monarchy rather than the respective republic in Dominion status assignment.
Transfer of Power – the treaty signed prior to presumed independence in 1947 amid clandestine meetings held among then Royal representatives including Viceroy and,
Imperialist selected meager representation for several millions at that time do not specify the Imperial role in defense strategy of the ceded territories set up as Dominions.
Furthermore, the axiomatic ambivalence in Transfer of Power against surrender rule and,
Dominion instead of independent sovereign republic declared in –
The Indian Independence Act 1947 – 10 & 11 Geo 6. CH. 30 –
“An Act to make provision for the setting up in India of two independent Dominions, to substitute other provisions for certain provisions of the Government of India Act, 1935, which apply outside those Dominions, and to provide for other matters consequential on or connected with the setting up of those Dominions. [18 July 1947.]
Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
The new Dominions –
1. -(I) As from the fifteenth day of August, nineteen hundred and forty seven, two independent Dominions shall be set up in India, to be known respectively as India and Pakistan.
(2) The said Dominions are hereafter in this Act referred to as “the new Dominions”, and the said fifteenth day of August is hereafter in this Act referred to as “ the appointed day”.
Territories of the new Dominions –
2. —(I) Subject to the provisions of subsections (3) and (4) of this section, the territories of India shall be territories under the sovereignty of His Majesty which, immediately before the appointed day, were included in British India except the territories which, under subsection (2) of this section, are to be the territories of Pakistan.”
The issue emphasize on two key elements pertaining to this Act –
Dominion by definition –
Source – Legal Dictionary – Merriam Webster – Thank you.
Main Entry: do·min·ion
Pronunciation: d&-‘min-y&n
Function: noun
1 a: supreme authority: SOVEREIGNTY b: a territory over which such authority is exercised c often cap:
A self-governing nation (as Canada) of the Commonwealth other than the United Kingdom that acknowledges the British monarch as the head of the state.
Encyclopedia – Encyclopedia Britannica – Thank you.
Dominion
The status, prior to 1939, of each of the British Commonwealth countries of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, Eire, and Newfoundland.
Although there was no formal definition of dominion status,
A pronouncement by the Imperial Conference of 1926 described Great Britain and the dominions as “autonomous communities within the British Empire, equal in status, in no way subordinate one to another in any aspect of their domestic or external affairs, though united by a common allegiance to the Crown and freely associated as members of the British Commonwealth of Nations.”
The references – Dominion and sovereignty under His Majesty per
The British Empire treaty – The Indian Independence Act 1947 – raises poignant questions regarding paramountcy lapse.
Termination of His Majesty’s suzerainty over dominions and promulgation under Indian republic and vice versa for Pakistan would provide legitimacy as well as clarity on true emancipation.
Meanwhile, the status quo comparable to Hong Kong previously recognized as British colony under long-term lease and subsequent cession to China on July 1, 1997 formally ending British rule in that territory.
India and Pakistan assume autonomy on 99 year lease due to embedded technicalities implying feudalist authority in the official deeds – Transfer of Power Agreement and Indian Independence Act 1947.
These conditions are not inextricable and perhaps delineating the independent nature substituting dominion for sovereign republic befitting twenty first century paradigm would clearly define sovereignty free from external vested interest.
India – as the Indian sub-continent progenitor perceived an independent republic in national and worldview.
Contrary to the belief, the so-called largest democracy is yet to attain sovereignty under Indian republic.
Pakistan – British Raj quid pro quo through mutiny share the irony with India.
Under divide and rule imperialist strategy, India was partitioned creating mayhem with millions of lives lost in the demarcation.
Over two-century occupation that still continues in the region through proxy governments and colonial loyalists within society serving hegemonic agenda.
India and Pakistan notwithstanding former colonies across the globe identified as dominion remain members of commonwealth under British monarchy.
The extension of matter is related to Indian Citizenship Act explicitly denying mainstream population dual citizenship contradictory to foreign entities from Regality to those in position of authority granted privilege in holding multiple citizenships not barring unlimited access to India.
Such inherent anomalies lead to feudal empowerment at society’s marginalization.
It is time for India and Pakistan to rise to the occasion in reclaiming sovereignty under republic domain.
British Royalty acknowledgment accordingly relinquishing power and rights on territories stated as dominions in the official declarations would conform to nations meaningful and authentic liberation from foreign rule.
Expediting transformation in a peaceful and transparent manner would confirm sincere commitment to individual liberty.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Pakistan – International Peace Conference Bonn, Germany
December 5, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
The latest developments in the U.S and Pakistan relation are:
NATO advised to cease activity near Pakistan and Afghanistan border specifically territory inside Pakistan in recognition of sovereignty and,
Significantly United States has begun vacating Shamsi air base in Baluchistan – the location used for drone attacks in Pakistan.
Similar action from United States in exiting other air bases within and around Pakistan would address Pakistan’s legitimate concern towards illegal occupation in a sovereign nation.
Nonetheless, the U.S initiatives in this regard are noteworthy with due acknowledgment to President Barack Obama as well as the U.S and NATO military command in the region.
Meanwhile, the current international peace conference held in Bonn, Germany to review Afghanistan future following U.S. and NATO departure is pivotal for regional stability.
United States invitation to Pakistan for valuable contribution is a unique opportunity to demonstrate Pakistan’s commitment towards peace and accepting responsibility in remaining instrumental to Afghanistan’s progress that would directly benefit Pakistan.
The political turmoil and continuous warfare in Afghanistan pervasively impact the neighboring nations particularly Pakistan forced to deal with containing violence as constant priority due to internal terror and cross border insurgency.
As a result Pakistan investments are diverted to combat zone rather than civilian projects diminishing nation’s prospects to compete effectively in the global economy.
U.S. and NATO troop withdrawal from Central Asia and Indian sub-continent would facilitate peace provided the electoral process is not invalidated with foreign power appointed governments for exclusive interests.
Afghanistan’s struggle begins with rural, tribal and the lower income to middle class in the urban areas vulnerability to political system lacking in credibility.
Although politics and corruption are inseparable in practice,
Afghanistan economic output largely affected from systemic abuse of power at various government levels and bureaucracy thriving on bribery and funds funneled from poppy cultivation.
The culture eroding youth aspirations for nation building ultimately end up serving extreme ideological groups opposed to unscrupulous dysfunctional governance with misplaced loyalty.
Furthermore, the foreign dominance with massive troop deployment with no definitive strategy to leave the nation –
Even though the 2014 time table more likely adapting Iraq situation to remain operative through behind the scenes political maneuver and threats exacerbates the situation for the war fatigued population.
Pakistan sharing the experience in this context is in a position to expedite complete termination of foreign occupation not only in own soil but also beyond Afghan borders spreading into Central Asia.
Unless Pakistan participates in international meeting and engage in dialogue with candor,
The efforts to safeguard sovereignty and avert recurring skirmishes potentially looming into major catastrophe would be futile –
Perhaps leading to regrettable lost moments in diplomacy.
Pakistan leaderships – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani are urged to set aside the recent rift between Washington and Islamabad.
Instead reciprocate to diplomatic course by participating in Bonn conference for insightful input.
Abstinence from international summit only escalates tension that could be easily avoided to pursue strong economic relationship with participants during session.
Besides the event provides Pakistan to play crucial role in redefining terms on security along with presenting anticipated information on measures adopted to eliminate terror networks undermining military, intelligence and civil society in the country.
It is sincerely hoped that Pakistan would grace the occasion by honoring United States and other attendees’ request to join them in the discussion on Afghanistan and regional matter.
Best Wishes to Pakistan, Afghanistan, United States, India and other members for successful outcome at the Bonn Conference.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Pakistan – NATO Strike and U.S. Occupation
December 2, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
Yet another NATO strike claiming two civilian lives this time after the week end assault resulting in 25 Pakistan soldiers casualties deserves valid explanation from the source responsible for the action worthy of condemnation.
The world’s super power United States led NATO taking pride in sophisticated artillery especially precision technology engaged in mistaken targets or imprecise attacks earlier in Libya and continued in Pakistan as well as Afghanistan exacerbates the growing mistrust in western power presence presumed occupying force’s unnecessary provocation.
Apologizing for mistakes towards incidents involving loss of innocent lives is accepting responsibility with humility and offering condolences to victims’ families highlights individual compassion – the two fine attributes defines basic human nature.
Again the stature is not diminished instead fortified upon extending genuine empathy to heal the wounded relationship considering the critical situation with troop across the border and emboldened hardliners undue advantage in the otherwise amicable crisis management.
Besides the grim oversight in the repeat aggression having escalated tension with standing order from Pakistan military high command to retaliate in response to recurring fire endanger life and regional stability.
Unlike Iran, Pakistan is a nuclear state sharing borders with two other nuclear nations – India and China.
Unless the goal is anything other than establishing peace – the dangerous incitement would be catastrophic for the perpetrators underestimating the underlying risks in pre-emptive warfare evolving into nuclear confrontation.
United States rational approach to reduce friction is primarily dependent on softening stance through diplomacy rather than bellicose rhetoric flaring anti-western sentiments in the increasingly volatile relation jeopardizing foreign aid workers, armed personnel and contractors’ safety in Pakistan.
U.S. and NATO operation over the decade in the so-called war on terror has expanded troop deployment, proliferated arms supply and facilitated militancy subjugating Pakistan and Afghanistan including Central Asia as permanent military base alongside rejecting sovereignty of these nations demonstrated in Abbottabad raid declining to present evidence confirming defunct process.
Pakistan decision to redefine terms beginning with U.S. vacating air base is justified predominantly due to bloodshed from incessant violence post 9/11 with no end in sight gaining access to experiment defense industry stockpiles breeding terror and cross border conflicts.
Global power standard practice in corrupting the system with military aid preventing functional democracy in semblance to infiltration in neighboring India promoting controversial nuclear deal and foreign direct investments in retail despite the policies adverse effects on mainstream population and local traders respectively elaborates the definitive objectives for regional colonization.
Insidious techniques for dominance subverting parliament sanctity through loyalists in the military, intelligence and civil institutions compromise statehood and national security.
Throughout the world, the conglomerate rein control over resources and territory for economic and strategic interest instigating discord within society.
The military industrial complex together with oligarchy remains the biggest threat to humanity.
Pakistan review of military and intelligence service in the alliance would be effective provided the elements in the relevant organizational structure contributing to overseas and internal terror networks empowerment are identified and eliminated restoring discipline and honor to national defense.
Most importantly, military and intelligence agency delineation from politics and governance could deter external intrusion reinstating republic rule with political viability to buttress peace and economic growth in the embattled zone.
As for ties renewal with United States – Pakistan and U.S engagement premised on trust, and mutual respect is invaluable for common pursuit i.e. sustainable peace and economic development.
The current political standoff could be ended with U.S. initiative in recognizing Pakistan’s sovereignty exemplified in complete withdrawal from the sub-continent.
Pakistan in exchange could allow transportation of essential goods to troop in Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds and expedite U.S and NATO departure from the region.
Additionally, Pakistan’s commitment to dismantle groups associated with terror plots and antipathy towards perceived rivals is paramount to revive national image and international acknowledgment.
Twenty first century marking supremacy conclusion would free nations struggling for liberty with an opportunity to thrive in the competitive global environment.
With heartfelt condolences to survivors representing deceased soldiers and civilians in the recent tragedy,
Prayers offered for the departed souls to rest in peace and courage to bereaving members in surviving the grievous moment.
Wishing Pakistan a new beginning with peace, progress and prosperity in abundance.
Good Luck! To United States and Pakistan in forging peaceful and strong economic accord for bilateral benefits.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

http://youtu.be/ss96P1VvB_E http://youtu.be/Bl9oAypLQMgPakistan – NATO Air Strike and U.S – Pak Standoff
November 30, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
The recent casualties involving 25 Pakistani soldiers from NATO air strike on Saturday, November 26, 2011 near Pakistan and Afghanistan border is deeply regrettable considering the loss of precious lives and,
Simultaneously the upside being, the tragic incident prompting U.S and NATO engagement assessment in northwestern region and Central Asia.
Pakistan designated as terrorism hub in the so-called war on terror justifying persistent U.S. drone attacks and ground activity through Central Intelligence forces –
Deployed as paramilitary escalated in the past two years has claimed many Pakistani civilian and armed forces lives on all sides with no conclusive strategy to end the military aggression and operation altogether.
U.S. led NATO stated agenda is – target militant groups in northwestern area, contain Haqqani and Al Qaeda network and terminate Taliban insurgency in Pakistan as well as Afghanistan.
However, the dismal results confirm the failure in the implementation of decade old warfare.
Alternatively defending the supposed war on terror a successful mission,
Alongside alleging the growing threat from various terror networks in Pakistan –
The proposition for taxpayer funded protracted military affair would be contradictory pre-empting,
The need to recognize the unwinnable paradoxical predicament favoring troops withdrawal and vacating all air bases from the sub-continent.
Similar action across the border in Afghanistan and Central Asia is primordial providing permanent relief to the population and facilitating dawn of peace in the embattled zone.
Pakistan defense committee decision calling for Shamsi air base shut down including other locations is justified and,
The people of Pakistan grievances against eternal turmoil deserve effective action.
The perpetual violence with no exit plan not only voids Pakistan’s sovereignty but also defines the illegal occupation fomenting anti-western sentiments across society.
The military aid to Pakistan could be diverted for economic assistance to rebuild the nation directly helping the people affected by war, internal conflict and natural catastrophe.
As for Pakistan’s terror haven status – the military top command urging foreign force withdrawal is legitimate.
Arguably, the burden remains with Pakistan military and intelligence to pursue sources within and periphery in disarmament by seizing weapons and explosives used in killing Pakistan’s innocent citizens and others outside the nation.
Further more, Pakistan intelligence agency ISI marred for links with terror groups could reverse role in apprehending elements hindering Pakistan’s peace and economic development.
The two important national security authorities – Pakistan military and intelligence bureau commitment to protect national interest prioritizing citizens’ safety from different factions inside the country would eliminate any foreign intervention requirement.
Both institutions confined to respective responsibilities i.e. monitor and manage dismantling of groups tied to terror plots against anyone would restore self-image and international confidence.
Besides overhauling the highest national defense and intelligence organization to remove detrimental allegiance to internal and external influence compromising statehood identity and integrity would revive the two institutions credibility as disciplined honorable establishment.
Pakistan’s status quo could be attributed to trust violation by those entrusted with safeguarding citizens’ welfare and national proprietary allowing prolonged foreign infiltration under the guise of fighting terror subjugating the nation to remotely controlled dominance.
Nonetheless, Pakistan’s current measures are indicative of awakening to reality.
It is prudent to address the increasing fatalities from robot wars experimenting newly developed technologies on the vulnerable population in utter disregard for life.
Pakistan stance to close supply routes in response to the unfortunate event is understandably emotion driven and could perhaps ease the tension on humanitarian grounds to enable the necessary flow of essential goods to troop stationed across the border.
Concurrently, U.S. and NATO reciprocation with complete withdrawal from Pakistan soil would spare Pakistan nationals enduring the spate of air and ground attacks due to U.S. and NATO assertive military policy and arms distribution in the territory.
The relation between U.S and Pakistan could improve with viable economic trade, educational programs, infrastructure investment, scientific research, cultural exchange and mutual respect in sharing relevant security information to save lives in the domestic and international domain.
Evidently war over these years has precipitated bilateral cooperation decline and,
The two nations could strive for peace and diplomacy that would guarantee resolutions to challenges in the present and future.
The stakes are much higher in rejecting peace and the existing stand off exacerbates the delicate balance maintained in resisting retraction from original position particularly for the U.S and NATO alliance.
Given the public reaction in Pakistan, U.S. default in vacating air base and continued military option would approve Pakistan’s sovereign right to defend citizens from proven assault with cross border access denial.
U.S. and NATO winding military activities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asia is a litmus test for the world’s super power and modern democracy to deliver peace in the war torn nations ushering in the new era for regional progress and prosperity.
Pakistan and United States resuming peace talks is the preliminary step towards reconciliation and procrastination in this regard would impact human lives with irreversible outcome in the otherwise resolvable international dispute.
Pakistan electorate seeking liberation from violence and occupation could be expressed in unequivocal terms through Parliamentary legislation in unison exemplifying the strength of democracy against overseas power presence.
Communal harmony solidifying national unity is the key to success in achieving the common goal.
Hopefully political discourse premised on rational approach would promote peace over unsustainable conflict with emphasis on U.S. and NATO immediate departure from the region.
Best Wishes to Pakistan for everlasting peace and economic growth.
Good Luck! To Pakistan and United States for renewed peace and economic partnership.
Peace to all!
Thank you.
