Call for Peace in Nigeria

March 16, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

The senseless cycle of violence in Jos city, the capital of the Plateau State in the Nigerian “middle belt” reported to have claimed more than a thousand lives since 2001.

Plateau state is the home for the Christians in the south, the Muslims in the north and the many indigenous groups. It’s nature’s gift to the population.

Jos city is located between the beautiful rain forests in the south and the savannah in the north with a fertile land and economic opportunities that once prevailed in the area.

Sadly, the perpetual deadly attacks between the Muslims and the Christian population have turned the city and the nearby villages into a morgue.

According to the reports, last Sunday in the Christian village of Dogo Nahawa, 200 people were violently killed and previously in January 300 Muslims had died similarly.

Violence in the past ten years among the city residents has produced enormous hatred and mistrust to the point of irreconcilable differences.

After reviewing the situation, it appears that clashes are not exclusively religious related. It’s largely due to the political and socio-economic disparity in the region.

Currently, the state governed by the Christian majority is perceived to have neglected the Muslim population’s economic needs and the existing social inequality.

Therefore, the fight between these groups to control the capital, Jos city and the economy is the tipping point in the decade old violence.

Religious and political leaders fear that the situation could evolve into a “full blown” civil war, in the absence of peaceful intervention.

Regardless of religious and economic background, the population in conflict should pause and reflect on the reality.

The fighting factions must realize that the Muslims, Christians and the indigenous groups are all victims in the self-inflicted violence and they are human beings first, prior to any other identification.

All religions teach human beings to treat one another, as they would like to be treated – with love, respect and dignity.

The religious denominations are not meant to be a barrier. Instead, they are expected to serve as the binding force in the communities to work and live together.

Being caring, compassionate and understanding are the innate human qualities. It’s found among the animal species as well.

Recognizing these natural characteristics and practicing them in daily life is known to promote peace and harmony within and around.

Hostility could be transformed into hospitality and that comes from empathy.

Honoring the basic rights and requirements of all human beings should be instinctive and not subject to prerogative.

In this particular tragedy, the origin of the problem lies with the disproportionate political representation in the state government.

It is not uncommon for the political majority to be biased towards the segment with which they share a common faith or ethnicity.

Unfortunately, it’s the root cause of social unrest and political turmoil in every secular society throughout history.

Sharing the political power to represent the diverse groups in a society would alleviate the economic plight of the entire population rather than the targeted demography.

Muslims, Christians and the indigenous population in Jos city, are equally entitled to the resources and could vastly benefit by consolidating their unique talent that each one of them possess as human beings, to improve the economic and social standards.

Society’s progress is reflected when the differences are genuinely accepted and commonalities appreciated.

Violence begets violence and the bloodshed will persist if neither is willing to disavow the anger and hatred towards one another.

Negative emotions hurt the one’s harboring more than the one’s it’s aimed at.

Muslims and Christians fighting against each other could begin the healing process with forgiveness by forgetting the events leading to the endless grief.

Viewing from other’s perspective often paves the way for better relationships.

Further, it’s in the best interest of the society to focus on rebuilding the community through positive contributions.

Acknowledging the fact that injustice against one eventually affects all would set the cornerstone for reconciliation.

I urge the Muslims, the Christians and the indigenous to come together and live up to the expectations of their respective religious values and the general human conduct.

Humanity thrives by learning from the erroneous present and the past.

I wish the people of Jos city in the Plateau state and the rest of Nigeria eternal peace, progress and prosperity.

Thank you.

The Iraqi Parliamentary Elections – 2010

March 14, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

After prolonged war and foreign troops still on the ground, the Iraqi population went to the polls on March 7, 2010.

Despite explosions in and around Baghdad and elsewhere, the election marks a great period for the Iraqi population.

Like most democratic elections, the Iraqi electoral process is faced with the ballot counting errors and fraud allegations.

Nevertheless, it’s a unique opportunity for the Iraqi people to embrace democracy having been persecuted previously,

Followed by an on-going war that has forced the government to deal with the anti-war insurgency within the country,

Instead of remaining focused on the economy.

Even though, the Iraqi election commission has not confirmed victory to the incumbent Prime Minister Nouri-Al-Maliki due to the incomplete election results, the possibility of a majority rule appears to be bleak.

Leaving the current administration with the only alternative – a coalition government per the Iraqi constitution.

Iraq is historically a secular nation. Therefore, it cannot afford to let one group be dominant over others like now.

It’s essential for Sunni representation in the Parliament to curtail domestic terrorism and allow the Iraqi people to experience democracy via peaceful existence.

Likewise, the Kurdish constitutional rights must be acknowledged to reflect real democracy.

The Kurdish impressive victory in Kurdistan and the disputed areas is well deserved, considering the brutality against them in the past.

Similarly, the formidable opposition led by the leader, Ayad Alawi gaining momentum in the five Northern provinces signifies the rainbow coalition as the ideal political option for the long-suffering people of Iraq.

Iraq has been through a horrifying period with millions of innocent lives sacrificed up until now.

It’s in the best interest of the people – the Sunnis, the Shiites, the Kurds, the Assyrians and other minority groups to come together and govern Iraq in a democratic system.

Without a shadow of doubt, such approach would not only promote the desirable political stability but also provide economic prosperity and national security.

The concerns expressed by Sami Shorsh, the head of the Kurdistan alliance List, regarding the Kurdish rights at the national front is legitimate, based on the isolation recently.

At the same time, I concur with the Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani urging the Kurdish unity on national issues. For it would expedite the regional progress and reduce the economic burden through solidarity.

I reiterate the importance on the Shiite and Secular outreach to the Sunni representatives in the formation of the new government.

It would unequivocally settle the storm that has wreaked havoc in Iraq thus far.

I urge all leaders in the ruling majority and the minority across Iraq to put their differences aside and acknowledge one another as an Iraqi first and rebuild the once sophisticated civilization of Mesopotamia.

At last, the life sacrificed by the Iraqi men, women and children in all these years is being honored with blessings on the living.

Congratulations! to the Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani and the Kurdish population on the recent legislative poll.

On that optimistic note, I wish the people of Iraq,

The dawn of new era with long lasting peace and glory in abundance.

Thank you.

Universal Peace and Harmony

March 13, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

Peace is a unique experience and easily realized if one is prepared to disinherit the negative emotions towards self and others. When human mind is at peace, it’s an instant bliss and pervasive over the surroundings.

On the other hand, the reason for the unrest in the world is because of internal conflict within individual that surface and spreads like a wildfire. Internal conflict arises from dissatisfaction mostly related to desire.

Therefore, discipline is necessary to control the needs and learn to be content with material possessions and status.

Another beneficial factor is generosity. A generous heart usually reflects kindness. Sharing and giving nurtures love permeating the environment like a beautiful fragrance.

Magnanimity could be in the form of empathy and compassion. Willing to take risk to save life or serve justice demonstrates an act of courage and a caring nature.

In the earlier article, the statement –

“Selfless act being seldom rewarded in the world dominated by ‘Me, myself and I,’ concept,” was in reference to those who come forward to do what is right for others despite the challenges ahead but remain unsuccessful.

It’s largely due to the lack of co-operation from the rest.

A perfect example is the health care reform, where the few lawmakers’ request to adopt a ‘single payer’ system that is ideal for the people and the nation is opposed rather than being appreciated.

When a society recognizes the cumulative advantage for a vast majority, with a permanent solution such as the ‘universal health care through single payer,’ it’s best to move forward in that direction.

Their positive action will not be in vain. It’s based on the adage –

“What you sow is what you reap.”

Deeds performed to alleviate the suffering of humanity bear fruits in abundance.

As promised, I would like to explain the events’ characteristics since my acquaintance with the citizens of the world.

A Prophet’s visit to the physical world is solely for the purpose of protecting civilization from collapsing. Further, it happens when ethical and moral degradation portends danger beckoning divine intervention for salvation.

Right now, the toxicity in the planet is endangering life.

In human flesh, the purest soul performs the act to pronounce the karmic effects of it. It’s to teach humanity the consequences of negative vices such as anger, hatred, envy, ego, pride, greed, lust, etc

By the way, the ‘butter thief’ connotation towards Shri Krishna is an endearment term used by the devotees, but was deliberately put forth in the context to arouse self-analysis of an intentional misunderstanding by the critics in the relevant topic.

Thou thyself art to blame. Human nature often forget their actions while detecting faults in others.

They ignore the remaining fingers pointing towards them during their criticism of another.

The speck of dust is magnified in the backdrop of luminosity.

Moreover, it’s noteworthy that throughout the latent teaching, it was never a pre-emptive action but a response to provocation.

Invariably, it was in the innocent victims’ defense and on other occasions a reminder to review bad decisions, that was once again affecting the disadvantaged,

As well as urging to look within and find the self, the pure soul – the ‘Almighty,’ who dwells in every being.

It’s an act of nature versus nurture.

By becoming the participant in the world stage, the objective is to teach the fundamentals of individual action.

It’s called Karma in spirituality. Also known as the cause and effect – i.e. nothing happens without a reason.

Scientifically, it proves that ‘every action has equal and opposite reaction.’

The spiritual guides as the Prophets and Messiahs have the responsibility to disillusion the astray and redeem them from their wrongdoings by absorbing the negativities.

In the process, the Prophet endures the pain through insults and incendiary remarks from the cynics – equivalent to bearing the cross to absolve Mother Earth from negative energy.

Indian mythology has many incidents whereby the incarnate and the Supreme entity had to consume bitterness figuratively and literally like in the incident when God Shiva had to swallow venom to protect life.

Lord Ram, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu compelled to send the lord’s consort Devi Sita, an expectant mother with twins back to the forest in an effort to be the subjects’ King.

Likewise, Lord Jesus Christ revealed the truth upon resurrection to the lord’s ardent disciple Mary Magdalene first, much to the principal followers’ dismay.

All of these events confirm the saints and prophets’ predicaments to uphold virtues by committing the ‘less virtuous’ action in ‘the eyes of the beholder.’

Synonymously, The 2008 Presidential campaign began with perfect decorum among the contestants on the left and the right.

It didn’t take too long for that to disappear and soon transformed into a ruthless battle with emotions running high allowing heated exchanges between the contenders, not to mention the office of Presidency targeted in the debates.

So, the lessons to be learned are mutual respect, better understanding, self-restraint along with an open mind to view matter in different perspective prior to rushing to conclusions or harsh treatment of anyone with a different position, even if their stance would yield substantial gains or loss for the less fortunate and otherwise.

I would like to engage you all in my life journey briefly.

During my residency in Australia, in the three-story apartment building among the many residents,

There were only two occupants of color – There was I, and a beautiful family from the Ivory Coast in West Africa.

The African family had the father, Kwadjo and his wife Tina with two lovely kids.

They moved into the building after I did. Kwadjo was an extremely friendly and a vivacious person.

Tina was very soft spoken and respectful.

They both were highly qualified professionals. Kwadjo was a PhD. in town planning from the internationally renowned Australian institution, Monash University.

Tina was a registered ICU nurse. They arrived from Ivory Coast as legal residents during the economic boom.

In spite of that, neither of them could find suitable employment anywhere, forcing them to become under employed. Tina worked at the janitorial service in the biggest hospital.

Kwadjo on his part volunteered at the non-profit institution run by the local church in exchange for food to support his young family.

Kwadjo and Tina would reach out to other residents for a handshake or friendly greeting only to be disappointed with a cold shoulder from them.

Since they were very good neighbors and friends of mine, I knew them well and we invited each other over for dinners.

When I relocated to the United States, both Kwadjo and Tina were still struggling to find an appropriate job.

A year later, I learned from my sibling who was in Australia. He stayed in my apartment and Kwadjo had made this comment:

“Your sister, Padmini was the only one in this building, who treated my family and me as human beings. She showed love and respect by sharing and accepting whatever we had.”

Kwadjo and family had immigrated to Canada after having spent many years in Australia without an affordable income. I was informed about it via a surprise post card from them upon their arrival in Canada.

Similarly, the couple with epilepsy in the building felt isolated for their speech impediment and not being able to hold a long conversation. They felt that others had no patience to listen and avoided them entirely.

Then in California, my neighbor Lee, who was a widow and a paraplegic, confined to a wheel chair.

Lee had many children, grand children and great grand children.

It didn’t matter. For Lee, had none visiting her even during Christmas or Thanks giving.

So, abandoning ones’ parents in their old age is not exclusive to India or any particular society.

It’s a worldwide tragedy. Most people have no time for others in the contemporary lifestyle where individualism takes priority.

I became Lee’s surrogate daughter and she adored my children, who were an infant and a toddler at that time. They used to call her the “lollypop Lee,” for she would offer them lollypop during my routine visits to her place to keep her company.

Lee was in tears when I had to leave and I remained in touch with her from overseas.

In another instance, my visit to Paris had a strange twist when the pleasant hospitable host, a French (a fourth generation French) Jewish cardiologist turned hostile to my polite question to him on the two state solution between Israel and Palestine co-existing with one another, back in 1992.

Even though, the French doctor had never visited Israel and lived in France his entire life, the discussion was off the table.

It made me pause and wonder about the discord that persists in the atmosphere.

Human relationships evolve from the recognition of the truth that we are all inter-linked in the tightly woven fabric of the global society that is splitting apart rapidly.

We are the fragmentation of an energy particle that has a binding force and it’s not viable to be polarized on the issues concerning freedom, democracy, equal rights, race, religion…

Every living being is born free but sadly deprived of the natural rights in many parts of the world.

On the Environmental Front:

The world population is dealing with different kinds of environmental pollution. There is air, water and noise pollution.

Air and water are natural resources. Regardless, the people across the globe have to pay for clean air and pure drinking water. Noise is a major hazard in the urban areas of the nations.

Preserving the habitat for life survival and sustenance is paramount.

It’s possible to change the stagnancy into a flowing river for all to exist and thrive.

If we don’t pull together and make a concerted pledge to reunite and rebuild the global community, the individuals’ aspiration will not come to fruition.

Selective few cannot succeed on their own for long.

Hence, coherence is absolutely important to retain the goodness and release the bad vibrations.

Universal peace and harmony are the cornerstones to resolve the global crises.

Please remember the primary goal is to “Save the Planet,” and establish “Peace on Earth.”

Without your help and enthusiasm, it’s not attainable.

Let’s begin now for a better tomorrow.

Thank you.

The Revelation – Kalki Avatar

March 12, 2010

Dear Citizens of the World,

The formal introduction of the divinity:

There has been lot of curiosity about the information on the mystical presence and the purpose behind it.

Hence, the divine truth is presented for perfect understanding.

My name is Padmini Achintya Arhant.

Padmini – A Hindu name of the “Goddess Lakshmi,” – Lord Vishnu’s consort.

Padmini means a lotus flower. The lotus flower is regarded sacred because of its purity in any surroundings, a holy river or a pond.

Goddess Lakshmi is symbolic to eternal love, unity, peace and happiness.

Goddess Lakshmi is the progeny of Mother Earth.

The middle name ‘Achintya’ means ‘The Inconceivable” in reference to God Shiva.

The last name “Arhant” denotes “The enlightened soul.”

In addition, Arhant also signifies the mantra – ‘OM’ translated as the origin and terminating point of the universal energy.

“OM” is attributed to God Shiva, the Supreme energy in the form of monolithic Shivling.

I was born on Janma Ashtami, the day Lord Krishna was born.

Contrary to the expectations in Kaliyuga, the present age, I’ve descended on earth as the female goddess and,

I’m the Kalki Avatar (Incarnation) of Lord Vishnu also known as Lord Krishna –

The protector of Humanity with a primary focus on preserving the planet.

Kalki Avatar was predicted at the peak of the technology revolution, using technology as the communication medium to attain the divine objectives for humankind.

I represent all religious prophesies to save humanity from suffering and lead the civilization to a new beginning.

Therefore, I will protect the sanctity of all religions and maintain the religious order.

I regard the atheists and the agnostics with equal affection to those following the spiritual path.

I will provide my service to humanity through guidance and implementation of policies imperative to achieve the universal peace, progress and prosperity.

Hence, my primary responsibility is to continue with the conception, planning and legislation of policies to benefit the people of the United States and the rest of the world.

I will direct the leaderships in the United States and across the globe in the cosmic realization of a new era, the re-creation of the planet in accordance with the evolution correlating time and space.

The humanitarian goal is to promote equality, mutual respect, love and greater understanding in the human race.

Defend truth and justice to revive the moral and ethical standards in the society.

Safeguard the planet for the survival of all species in the present and the future.

I look forward to the universal convergence in perfect harmony to establish the long lasting peace and eternal life on the planet.

The phenomenal success in saving humanity and the habitat is largely dependent upon the willingness, co-operation and collective contributions from the human race.

On the optimistic note, I sign off wishing joy, peace and strength to all living beings on earth.

Thank you.

Demystifying the Myth

March 11, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

My fellow citizens of the world,

I wish to clarify the misunderstandings in the communication with respect to the power in Washington.

The new developments are not to create any confusion or pose a threat to anyone’s position whether personal or professional.

President Barack Obama is the President of the United States and the Congress members as the elected representatives would perform the legislative tasks per the constitution.

I request the responsible members in Congress or the media not to arrive at any hasty conclusion and spin the information against our President Barack Obama or the Democratic Party leadership and the members.

This message is being released in coherence with the new beginning set forth for humanity.

Regarding my identity and the precise reason for the engagement in the physical world,

I assure you that none will be kept in the dark and there is no conspiracy of any kind.

In fact, it’s the long well known prophecy eventuating to confirm the cosmic convergence in the universe.

My involvement is for a specific purpose in accordance with the cosmic evolutionary process concerning time and space.

I’ll provide an explanation with a formal introduction including the characteristics of the events since my acquaintance with all of you going back to the Presidential campaign in 2008.

I will also share my life journey for better perception.

Your patience is much appreciated.

‘Save the Planet’ and ‘Peace on Earth’ is not merely a concept but an inevitable reality.

Signing off with love and peace to every being on this planet.

Thank you.

Islamophobia or “Truth” Attack in the name of Free Speech?

March 10, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

Attention seeking news articles deserve scrutiny.

The article regarding The Republican candidate Tom Campbell – a former Stanford Law Professor.

Election 2010

Campbell haunted by links to professor

“Statements inconsistent on man tied to terrorists – By Mike Zapler
mzapler@mercurynews.com – Thank you.

Please read the entire article on-line @ www.sjmercurynews.com, Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

However, the excerpts of the article are presented below:

Washington – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tom Campbell is facing a potentially crippling controversy over his past defense of a fired Florida professor with ties to terrorists and his inconsistent statements regarding what he knew and when about the man’s actions.

Dogged for weeks by criticism over his defense of Sami Al-Arian, who later pleaded guilty to aiding terrorists, Campbell has denied knowing about the man’s incendiary past, which included nods to Islamic jihad and calls for “death to Israel.” He also said that his dealings with Al-Arian occurred before the Sept.11 terror attacks…

Al-Arian was fired by the University of South Florida following an interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly two weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks, during which he acknowledged proclaiming in a 1988 speech, “Jihad is out path. Victory to Islam. Death to Israel.”

Campbell responding to a request from a fellow law professor rallying scholars to the cause of academic, freedom, wrote to the president of the university in January 2002, asking her to reconsider the engineering professor’s dismissal.

“I respectfully wish to convey my sincere alarm that Professor Al-Arian may be treated harshly because of the substance of his views,” Campbell wrote.

The controversy over Al-Arian – combined with Campbell’s votes as a congressman to trim economic aid to Israel and his acceptance of campaign contributions in the 2000 campaign from Al-Arian (which at one point he denied) and others with ties to terrorist groups – has given rivals Carly Fiorina and Chuck DeVore an opening to challenge Campbell’s commitment to Israel.

Campbell rebuts each of the claims with detailed, nuanced arguments, but he has damaged his case with inaccurate statements and recollections, particularly of the O’Reilly interview.

“It never helps when you have to say the dog ate my homework,” said Pitney.

A potential source of his problems is the conflict presented by Campbell’s two chosen career paths.

He has spent his career advocating for civil liberties and academic freedom as a law professor while also trying to get ahead in the cutthroat arena of politics. But defending the rights of unpopular individuals is turning out to be poor politics.”

2. Pa. woman accused in terror case

Indictment says she used the Internet to recruit jihadists – By Maryclaire Dale

Associated Press, Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

Philadelphia – A suburban woman “desperate to do something” to help suffering Muslims has been accused of using the Internet to recruit jihadist fighters and help terrorists overseas, even agreeing to move to Europe to try to kill a Swedish artist, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Authorities said the case shows how terror groups are looking to recruit Americans to carry out their goals.

A federal indictment charges that Colleen LaRose, who called herself Jihad Jane and Fatima LaRose online, agreed to kill the Swede on orders from the unnamed terrorists and traveled to Europe to carry out the killing.

It doesn’t say whether the Swede was killed, but LaRose was not charged with murder.

A Justice Department spokesman wouldn’t confirm the case is related to a group of people arrested in Ireland on Tuesday on suspicion of plotting against Swedish artist Lars Vilks, who depicted the Prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog.

But a U.S. official speaking on condition of anonymity said LaRose had targeted the Swedish cartoonist and had online discussions about her plans with at least one of the suspects apprehended in Ireland.

The official wasn’t authorized to discuss details of the investigation.

LaRose, who has blond hair and blue eyes, indicated in her online conversations that she thought her appearance would help her move freely in Sweden to carry out the attack, the indictment said.

In a 2009 online message to a co-conspirator in South Asia, she said her physical appearance would allow her to “blend in with many people,” which “may be a way to achieve what is in my heart,” the indictment said.

LaRose is a convert to Islam who actively recruited others, including at least one unidentified American, and her online messages expressed her willingness to become a martyr and her impatience to take action, according to the indictment and the U.S. official.

“I will make this (killing the artist) my goal till I achieve it or die trying,” she wrote another South Asian suspect in March 2009, according to the indictment.

U.S. Attorney Michael Levy said the indictment doesn’t link LaRose to any organized terror groups. He would not comment on whether other arrests were expected.

LaRose, 46, lived in Pennsburg, Montgomery County, Pa., before moving to Europe in August 2009, authorities said.

She called herself JihadJane in a Youtube video in which she said she was “desperate to do something somehow to help” ease the suffering of Muslims, the indictment said.

According to the 11 page document, she agreed to obtain residency in a European country and marry one of the terrorists to enable him to live there.

She traveled abroad with a U.S. passport stolen from a male friend and intended to give it to one of her “brothers,” the indictment said.”

3. Swedish artist has no regrets over prophet drawing – By KARL RITTER, Associated Press Writers.

AP – Swedish artist Lars Vilks walks in the streets without protection in Stockholm, Sweden, Wednesday March …

NB: It’s contradictory to the claims made in the preceding article.

4. Boyfriend: ‘Jihad Jane’ suspect wasn’t religious – By MARYCLAIRE DALE, Associated Press,
Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

Killing the target would be her goal “till I achieve it or die trying,” she wrote a south Asian suspect in March 2009, according to the indictment. Her federal public defender, Mark T. Wilson, declined to comment Tuesday.

“I’m glad she didn’t kill me,” Vilks told The Associated Press on Wednesday, saying the suspects appeared to be “low-tech.” He said he has built defense systems in his home to thwart would-be terrorists, including a safe room and electrified barbed wire.

U.S. Attorney Michael Levy said the indictment doesn’t link LaRose to any organized terror groups.

In recent years, the only other women charged in the U.S. with terror violations were lawyer Lynne Stewart, convicted of helping imprisoned blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman communicate with his followers, and Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani scientist found guilty of shooting at U.S. personnel in Afghanistan while yelling, “Death to Americans!”

PA Comment: Again the content is inconsistent.

Content Review: By Padmini Arhant

The recent “Associated Press,” publications severely lacking in credibility due to the following information on these articles.

Relevantly, it makes one wonder, which does the “Associated Press,” represents –

The people, as it should in a democracy

Or

The powerful responsible for creating confusion and mayhem targeting the truth seeker by scapegoating Islam and the Muslim population.

When journalism is at the lowest ebb, it symbolize the democracy’s demise.

1. The article . Swedish artist has no regrets over prophet drawing – Associated Press

The same AP article in Yahoo News at 11.30a.m PST had a foot note :

“The Prophet is not holy to be offended anytime.”

However, it’s been re-published later without that comment and it’s a wise move for it prevents unnecessary discussions.

2. As for the article on the Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tom Campbell –

Campbell haunted by links to professor.

These particulars raise an interesting query about the intention.

“A potential source of his problems is the conflict presented by Campbell’s two chosen career paths.

He has spent his career advocating for civil liberties and academic freedom as a law professor while also trying to get ahead in the cutthroat arena of politics. But defending the rights of unpopular individuals is turning out to be poor politics.”

Then quoting the “Fox News host Bill O’Reilly’s interview” as the premise for substantiating the allegations against the scapegoat, Tom Campbell, is a top notch comedy of errors, especially with the show’s irony as “The No-Spin Zone.”

The truth of the matter is the American Professor Sami Al-Arian is innocent and a “Patriot Act” victim in a witch hunt by the unscrupulous to camouflage their crimes against humanity.

Please view the USA vs. AL-ARIAN is 2007 documentary film about Sami Al-Arian and his family during and after his federal trial on terrorism-related charges. It was directed by the Norwegian director Line Halvorsen.

3. Then in the article Pa. woman accused in terror case.

Indictment says she used the Internet to recruit jihadists – By Maryclaire Dale Associated Press

Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

The repeat references are noteworthy.

“A suburban woman “desperate to do something” to help suffering Muslims has been accused of using the Internet…”

She called herself JihadJane in a Youtube video in which she said she was “desperate to do something somehow to help” ease the suffering of Muslims, the indictment said.

Again, here in this specific article, one must also observe the ambiguity on the entire content without being able to provide the terrorist group having allegedly recruited the subject, the convert to Islam, and then this claim:

“It doesn’t say whether the Swede was killed, but LaRose was not charged with murder.”

U.S. Attorney Michael Levy said the indictment doesn’t link LaRose to any organized terror groups.

He would not comment on whether other arrests were expected.”

Despite the national intelligence services’ surveillance on the American citizens’ private and public communication through all mediums under FISA and Patriot Act,

The quoted official and the indictment is unable to furnish details to authenticate the data.

Evidently it’s a blatant demand from those behind this cacophony articles to withdraw the requests made in the blog post titled “Subliminal Attacks – A new wave Politics,” favoring the people in the United States and across the globe on national and international issues.

Hence, my response to them is – “Hope and Change,” is no longer a myth but a reality.

The forces behind the subliminal threats ought to remember that if my blog posts are being searched to discredit my standing,

I urge them to be patient for the information to be released shortly that would truly enlighten the minds of the entire world.

Thank you.

Subliminal Attacks – A new wave Politics

March 8, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

I would like to thank the visitors to the website www.padminiarhant.com in the United States, India and around the world.

Your love and support makes the effort worthwhile.

As stated in the profile, the website objective is to promote peace, progress and prosperity for all with a major focus on protecting the environment, the only ideal habitat for living species in the universe, thus far.

It is depicted in the logo – Save the Planet, and Peace on Earth.

That being the goal, I express my gratitude and deep appreciation to the readers of my articles for taking the time to read and reflect on the topic.

In coherence with the paradoxical universe,

Success is greeted with genuine affection and enthusiasm for its representation – obviously from the supporters.

Likewise, it’s also subject to hostility, propaganda and rejection – by the opposition.

The purpose of the material on the website is to engage the like and the unlike minds in a serious thinking process beyond surface review in order to understand the self-created complexity largely responsible for the global status quo.

Criticisms are directed in many different ways. Constructive criticisms enhance quality.

Targeted criticisms often subvert facts with fiction and personal convictions.

Earlier on the element of truth was explained in a manner to allow rational thinking to prevail over confusion and distortion.

When viewed with an open mind, the articles on the website have invariably defended the weak, the oppressed, the disadvantaged and the victims of mass deception –

Dissenting authoritarianism against innocent population.

In many featured visual content, the protesters represented by the unarmed civilians and the monks were waving a white flag and a peace sign during their peaceful demonstrations for freedom and justice only to be mercilessly hurt and killed in response.

The individualism – “Me, Myself and I” restraints outreach to the less fortunate.

Saving humanity from a myriad of defiant forces is a horrendous task especially when the violators are powerful and immunized against reconciliation for common good.

Synopsis of requests made thus far:

Campaign Finance Reform – Public funded elections poignantly after the Supreme Court decision in Corporations’ favor.

Preserving American jobs by resurrecting the manufacturing sector and small businesses.

Universal Health Care for all – Single Payer System.

Tough Financial Reform – to protect average citizens from predatory and fraudulent practices, providing a safety net for the domestic economy and the global financial market.

Strong Environment Policies – fossil fuel and nuclear energy abandonment.

Public Education – Free higher education for students from average income families.

Economic and Social Justice – Gay rights and legalization of the undocumented workers in the country. Bridging the gap between the rich and the poor. Reviving the middle class in the society.

Nuclear Weapons – eliminating hierarchy prevalent under the pretext of the responsible factor and truthful disclosure on complete nuclear disarmament worldwide.

War and Military Base – Troop withdrawal, the prolonged military operations termination and defense budget divestment in the domestic economy including economic and social development in the war zones.

Being a reliable peace partner in international conflicts particularly Israel and Palestine,

Freedom for Tibet, Burma, North Korea, and Iran and curtail military coups like in Honduras, Haiti, vulnerable nations in Africa and Latin America on the United States watch.

Closure of Guantanamo bay and relinquish torture of terror suspects that’s in violation of the Geneva Convention.

Investigation of illegal invasion of Iraq war and judicial trial against the torture memo author Professor Yoo and others to prevent history repeating itself in the future.

Finally, the ordinary and the extraordinary have to leave this planet sometime in their lifetime in accordance with natural process.

Hence peace and empathy would make the world a better place for all.

Financial Reform with an Independent Consumer Protection Agency

March 6, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

The Wall Street bailout season commenced in 2008 and continued into 2009. Those corporations allied with the oligarchs not only survived but their CEO’s are thriving amid difficult economic times and some states experiencing a double-digit unemployment.

As stated earlier in numerous articles on the economy and the financial sector, the speculators’ reckless conduct together with greed led to the status quo. The sub-prime mortgage and credit card lending practices targeting the vulnerable population contributed to the housing market decline and the alarming bankruptcies.

In addition, the credit crunch has forced many small businesses to lay off employees and left the self-employed in a dire situation. The private sector have also been affected in the liquidity crisis triggering the 9.7 percent national unemployment rate and much higher when consolidated with the under employed statistics.

Evidently, a rigorous financial reform is necessary to revive the economy and avert future meltdown.

Although, an international consensus was reached during the G-20 meetings in 2009 at London and Pittsburgh to implement strong financial regulations, the domestic agenda in the United States is faltering due to the usual Senate gridlock and the lack of enthusiasm to push the issue forward.

However, the House of Congress is way ahead of Senate in passing legislations on many issues, reflecting the Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House of Representatives’ commitment.

On the other hand, the Senate majority leader Harry Reid has a tough battle convincing the opposition, sworn to filibuster the legislations on any reform.

The Republican Senators and the democrat opponents believe in the market economy free of regulations and refuse to acknowledge the economic adversity brought upon by deregulations in the recent decades.

Failure to act now would be catastrophic for the global financial market and the economy.

There is no guarantee that the U.S economy and the rest of the world would not be subject to a similar scenario in the future with the hedge fund managers and the investment banks such as the Goldman Sachs…

Having set a precedence in wild speculations, high-risk exposure and fast track profiteering at the expense of millions of borrowers, investors and national economies like P.I.G.S, an acronym for Portugal, Iceland/Ireland, Greece and Spain, all of whom are currently dealing with insolvency.

Finance sector being the cradle of the economy, the benign symptoms would prompt the government bailouts of the default institutions. Thus, history repeating itself with the exponentially rising national debt remaining the constant factor in the non-regulatory environment.

Another attention worthy issue in this context is the establishment of an Independent Consumer Protection Agency.

Agency’s function would be fairly common and that being,

Protecting the consumer rights as the borrowers,

Creating awareness on the industry’s unethical practices apart from,

Preventing the banks in the systemic abuse of customers through inflated finance charges and interest rates on personal loans, credit card etc.

Further, it could also provide arbitration service to the borrower and the lender on financial disputes, thereby mitigating legal expenses for both parties.

Not surprisingly, there is resistance to the Independent Consumer Protection Agency.

As witnessed in the health care bill, the lobbyists are relentlessly engaged in ensuring the demise of the financial reform and the consumer protection agency.

The White House being suggested to nominate the Treasury Department in handling the Consumer Protection Agency affairs as opposed to a non-partisan and an independent committee, poses a conflict of interest stemming from the Treasury Department’s liaison with the financial institutions.

Likewise, the Federal Reserve maintaining control over the Consumer Protection Agency against the banking sector is an unrealistic expectation based on the Federal Reserve’s performance in the sub-prime mortgage debacle and the executives’ close ties with the finance sector.

Therefore, the consumer protection agency ought to be independent and focused on safeguarding consumer interest.

Financial reform cannot be delayed or relinquished especially with the Wall Street’s compulsive disorder to indulge in short term gains by acquiring toxic assets only to be transformed into a burgeoning liability.

Alternatively, the watered down legislation could fulfill a formality and not serve the purpose.

Hence, the requirement for a meaningful financial reform is absolutely vital to rein in on predatory traditions.

Finally, the U.S. economic recovery could be expedited through a robust financial regulation that would instantaneously restore the investor and consumer confidence.

Thank you.

Universal Health Care – The Ideal Remedy

March 4, 2010

By Padmini Arhant

Health care reform has consumed significant time without any consensus on the important national crisis.

The last week bipartisan summit confirmed the status quo.

Now the discussion is held on passing the legislation in different format. Some advocating for piece meal legislation while others believe in the consolidated package approval.

Those who opposed the reform from the beginning remain steadfast in their opposition to saving lives for political and personal interest. The obstinacy speaks volume about their commitment to public service.

The back and forth exchange is counterproductive when an alarming proportion, an estimated 45,000 young and old people are dying every year.

Although, the Senate health care bill without public option is upheld as the ‘adequate’ measure, it continues to be an uphill battle in securing the Senate majority vote.

Despite the public testimonials sharing their harrowing experiences along with the facts on the escalating costs, the universal health care was never an option previously among the ‘Super Majority’ democrats with the exception of few legislators in the House and the Senate.

In 2009, when the democrats were a super majority, they lost a once in a lifetime opportunity to provide the American electorate, the deficit reducing and an affordable health care through universal Medicare.

Not all is lost, since the Democratic members and the administration are forced to consider the reconciliation process – an avenue used by the Republican administration and the members on numerous occasions in the past for the military and the corporate agenda.

However, it’s incumbent on the democratic members to serve the public interest by adopting the Single Payer system, when considering the simple majority rule.

Why is the Universal Medicare, an ideal remedy?

1. It’s simple and cost effective in every sense.

2. The system already exists for seniors via Medicare and the VA health care for the veterans. Further, Medicaid and COBRA are also federal funded programs.

3. Current Medicare coverage to seniors and the Federal funded VA programs are acknowledged as the phenomenal milestone in the national health care, even by the Republican members in the Congress. They appreciate it because they are entitled to the health care privileges as the members of the United States Congress.

4. Therefore, the Medicare expansion for all would resolve the disputed intricacies in the present health care debate.

5. Standard rules on the health care services would effectively address the excessive health care management costs attributed to the rising national debt.

6. Competition among the health care service providers promotes quality including the desirable choices for the insured in seeking the appropriate treatment.

7. Fraud and malpractice could be curtailed under the blanket rule for the industry.

8. Mandatory insurance for all under federal program would ease the burden on the society – the individuals, small businesses and the Corporations. It’s stipulated in the pending legislation, but in the absence of a federal run program the private insurers gain absolute monopoly leading to the ‘business as usual’ environment.

9. Negotiations with the pharmaceutical industry under universal Medicare would also substantially reduce the drug costs. Thus benefiting all.

10. Universal Medicare is a guaranteed protection for it would be available 24/7 regardless of the citizens’ health conditions.

The people of the United States deserve an efficient, cost saving, choice oriented health care system such as the Medicare for all.

Under ‘not-for-profit’ universal health care, otherwise the single payer system, the consumers would invest their premiums in their health rather than the insurance and the health care industry CEO’s wealth.

America should not agree to anything less than a Universal Medicare and it’s legislatively possible through the legitimate reconciliation method, currently decided by the democratic members for passing the unpopular Senate version of the health care bill.

Finally, Healthy People means Wealthy Nation.

Thank you.
