The events related to any specific cause would be motivating provided there are no contradictions in the recent past or present.

Protests are organized for attention and generate reaction one way or another to affirm statements and sentiments on any issue.

Today the women’s march in the United States Capital spreading around the globe could be the headlines in news media.

However, the grim reality is not only women’s rights, civil liberty infringement among many other serious human rights violations remain the norm with powerful forces reining control over world resources and human capital resist any change to status quo.

The racial profiling in the United States and elsewhere and harassment by security agents especially women on duty in airports in India asserting improper approach and body search against general conduct is the consequence of misguided law and order. Again those who impose these practices as authority being exempt from these uncivil treatment due to the hierarchy as VIP and VVIP, they care less about the agents’ inappropriate demeanor.

When beneficiaries are accustomed to system serving them and their benefits only, any possible shift is unacceptable to them.

As a reminder to protesters worldwide on women’s rights, when prominent media like BBC hires a woman film maker to subvert facts and portray the Delhi (Indian) gang rape victim at fault and make a movie for profitability and propaganda then that speaks volume of complicity amongst women folks in such involvement.

Not to mention the nation and self-classified privileged in Indian society denying the rape victim’s family plea to refer to her by her real name unlike the one assigned Nirbhaya to further incriminate the victim in this case. Such tactics are intentional and the worst is the deplorable gesture justified as empathy towards victim.

Similarly, the entertainment industry having become the major tool and medium besides literary field under the guise of fiction are constantly engaged in tarnishing image of anyone they disapprove for standing up to elements responsible for political disorder, corruption, social and economic inequality.

The strategy to hide behind fiction with a disclaimer on movies and publications while declaring the characters to be enactment of living entity verifies the profiteers lack of courage and integrity together with credibility not necessarily an important factor to them. The collusion on unscrupulousness is evidently irrefutable.

Although false and fabricated negative depictions in films and available media format regarded just and sold as entertainment under fiction banner, the daring truthful  speech shedding light on reality and experience substantiating facts is dismissed as hate rhetoric.

In other words, there is little or no tolerance to truth and factual presentations as the trend is misinformation, deception and distortion misleading the world on the pretext of liberal, progressive and humanitarian cause.

The same is played out as conservatives described as nationalists with extreme views on women, other gender, immigrants, natives and so on leading to flip flopping to suit agenda.

Apparently, anything goes in the fervor to protect dysfunctional structure exploiting every opportunity to convince mass on the obviously flawed pursuits, policy and decision making process.

The matter deserving focus are the demonstrations like Occupy Wall Street and dissent to NATO operations resulting in destruction of lives and countries quelled using violent means showing utter disrespect for basic right on peaceful assembly and freedom of speech.

Likewise, EU in conjunction with ECB, IMF and World Bank contributing to economic mayhem and disparity. UN with UNSC as unipolar body functioning as ultimate authority authorizing military interventions and arbitrary dealings harming rather than helping the population are some key challenges among many confronting humanity.

Any protests against these organizations and their rules are met with aggression and undemocratic measures to undermine legitimate concern.

Anytime the powerful and behind the scenes operatives aim to arouse public anxiety in the manufactured setting, the ploy has inevitable reverse effect.

The dismantling of power concentrated amongst the few exerting dominance as prerogative would essentially emancipate all beings enduring discrimination and isolation.

Finally, the display objects such as the bust of political figures or leaders in the oval office substituting one for another upon exit and entry of the appointees might be an individual choice.

Nonetheless, the White House representing the executive branch for the nation permanently housing foreign leadership viz. Britain’s former Prime Minister Winston Churchill sculpture ignoring many honorable American patriots is a contradiction to the celebration of United States independence on July 4th and proclamation of sovereignty free from allegiance to crown and extraneous body.

Cause with contradictions pose conflict of interests.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – Life and Legacy

January 16, 2012

By Padmini Arhant

The great leader is remembered today for his commitment and sacrifice towards social justice and equality.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – a theologian and peace activist touched many lives across the spectrum with a deep understanding for human suffering that led to civil rights movement.

Emulating Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent principle in civil disobedience,

Dr. King enlightened society on basic human rights i.e.

All are born to be free and created equal.

The civil rights leader prevailed in emancipation from segregation and subjugation.

Dr. King inspired many in recognizing human values through mutual respect and empathy for one another.

Considering the intensity in human rights violation – Dr. King admirably practiced peaceful and non-violent means to break barriers proving the power of virtuous deeds.

Dr. King’s human rights legacy constitutes American heritage.

However, the civil rights legend dream for mankind – world without prejudice,

Perhaps be reality then conflicts driven atrocities would not be dominant characteristics in contemporary society.

Innocents would not be incarcerated and sentenced to premature death like Troy Davis and many in the nation proudly declared as – the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Guantanamo bay would not exist with nearly 175 human beings held in indefinite detention as terror suspects without trial or legal representation while enduring medieval age torture.

The latest incident involving certain U.S. marine indignation of deceased Afghan fighters in war torn Afghanistan and previously Abu Ghraib would not become the American image.

Congress would not be preparing to curb Internet access denying constitutionally guaranteed first bill of rights.

Similarly congressional efforts in restricting minority voting rights through mandatory voter ID would not be threatening citizens’ fundamental exercise to elect representative in a democracy.

Peaceful protesters might not have confronted with violent crack down from government.

Patriot Act – spying and constant surveillance along with unwarranted wiretapping would not be the law in the land of justice.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream paradoxical to present events.

Nonetheless, Dr. King’s faith in better tomorrow resonates throughout with global revolutions such as occupy protests and Arab spring demonstrating civil rights martyr spirit in overcoming challenges now and the days ahead.

DR. Martin Luther King Jr. dedication to civil rights and life in general would always be cherished and honored in perseverance for social progress.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Civil Rights Under Attack

June 14, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

The entities behind deaths and destruction on this planet upon being requested to pursue the path of peace in the Middle East and elsewhere have demonstrated their true colors through assault on fundamental democratic right – freedom of expression.

Comments posted on the website www.padminiarhant.com reflecting public view worldwide has been hacked and deleted by the forces in power confirming their insecurity heightened by intolerance to non-violence and peace.

The latest action is by no means a surprise considering the repeat attacks endured since the website commencement to educate and inform the global society on the diabolical agenda implemented under the guise of democracy and other political systems representing plutocracy.

It is well known that communication is targeted to suppress free flow of information to the extent when proposal to shut down Internet was drafted in 2009 setting a dangerous precedence to undermine democracy notwithstanding direct violation of the constitution.

Democracy is threatened when freedom of speech expressing concern over –

Innocent lives killed in illegal warfare,

Profiteering from arms supply at the cost of human lives,

Economic policies benefiting the privileged thereby creating the gulf between the rich and poor,

Social injustice from selective domestic and foreign policy in the so-called war on terror and last but not the least,

The energy sector detrimental ambitions to drill, mine…and pollute to the environment’s peril destroying the  only habitat for life,

Prohibited by aggressive tactics confirming the contemporary era to fascist draconian rule of law.

It is time for world citizens to wake up to reality and defend the individual rights that are increasingly denied under the auspice of maintaining new world order.

Such undemocratic interventions would only precipitate the inevitable decline of powers having wreaked havoc indiscriminately across the world.

The commitment to truth exposure by unveiling the masqueraded behind the scenes events remain steadfast and determined to prevail in the establishment of peace and justice.

Global visitors to the domain are requested to demonstrate solidarity and promote peace by sharing the information on the website.

With profound gratitude to all supporters for their encouraging comments the website is dedicated to serving humanity.

Your incredible support is appreciated.

The website is resolute in delivering the important message on non-violence, peace and unity on humanitarian values in addition to persevering environment protection.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

The Irony of Equal Rights

November 12, 2008

The reason for my involvement in a political campaign of this magnitude — the Presidential race 2008, was to convey the message that United States is a nation of immigrants and democracy is truly represented when individual rights of every citizen is honored and valued in true spirit.

While it is a great moment in history to realize the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,

Whose sacrifice is symbolized with the election of the first African American candidate as the 44th President of the United States in 2008,

It is unequivocally demoralizing to note the outcome of the Vote for Proposition 8 banning “Gay Marriage” and,

The failure of “Touch-Screen machines for disabled voters”  in the California ballot and elsewhere —

(Ref. San Jose Mercury News, Thursday, November 6, 2008 Section 2B, by Karen de Sá ).

Like stated earlier, when individuals exercise authority with the voting power in the denial of civil and human rights as demonstrated in the two most tragic results, it is a sad day for democracy.

Nevertheless, my message to all my dear friends and fellow citizens in the gay community and the disabled voters is…

You never quit a half won battle, even if the opposition appears to be strong and forceful in rhetoric but fragile in essence.

It is noteworthy that, this mandate on Gay marriage was bargained in monetary terms by the religious institutions with highly questionable ethics and conduct especially against young children i.e. girls and boys alike.

Such mandate should be challenged again in the court of law for the constitutional and civil rights of all citizens to prevail in the land of justice, that is the United States of America.

Further, much to the dismay of the opposing religious order — this challenge is being remanded with the blessing of the same “Almighty God” inappropriately referenced in the debate as the shield for their orthodox and hypocritical philosophy.

Any democracy is active when disfranchisement of one by another is discarded for common good of all.

Otherwise, it is not a democracy, it is a hypocrisy.

Thank you.
