Balancing California Budget
February 12, 2009
The golden state is in deep economic crisis, sharing the status quo of the nation.
As per Wikipedia.org – California would have the 7th highest GDP in the world if thought of as a country (not including the US as a whole, if so, it would be 8th).
A great state like California being the epicenter for – besides earthquakes,
Technology
Biotech and stem cell research
Entertainment symbolized by Hollywood
Diverse talent and skill pool making outstanding contributions in various fields.
Yet, the fundamental responsibility of the state government to balance the budget postponed indefinitely due to partisan politics with Republican minority misusing the two-third majority approval against the incumbent Democrats in the legislature.
As a result, the taxpayers of the economy are abandoned and the entire population is at the mercy of the minority rule upholding the conventional ideology against contemporary wisdom.
It is Déjà Vu for those following the federal government struggle to get the economic stimulus bill approved by both Houses of Congress.
The dilemma of balancing the budget with the political parties’ resistance to compromise is a daunting task for any administration. It is beyond comprehension that failed policies and inconvenient principles continue to dominate the center stage at both state and federal level in legislative matters.
California budget deficit currently at $42 billion with unemployment skyrocketing to 9.3% and expected to worsen by the year-end;
Clearly, the economic recession is widespread and taken severe toll on the present and future taxpayers of the economy.
———————————————————————————————————————
Challenges:
How does the state reduce the budget deficit of $42 billion?
Generally, the options would be exploring ways to generate revenues and cutting costs proven liabilities with no income or other benefits to the taxpayers of the economy.
Revenues:
How does the state generate revenues?
Usually, the government revenue sources are taxes paid by individuals and Corporations.
They are in the form of income tax, estate tax, corporate tax, payroll tax, sales tax, customs and excise duty on export and import items as well as fees and charges for any government provided services. If the state has other assets in the form of government bonds and treasury bills, they comprise negotiable instruments to borrow money.
In addition, the government could potentially expect income from investments in industries via quasi contracts, state run institutions, sale and/or leasing of government land to private sectors and trade goods and services with neighboring states or foreign governments. Some states find ways and means to share natural resources with their neighbors within and outside the nation for income.
Then, a federal aid to boost social services, health and educational programs is other channel for financial assistance.
Obviously tax increases is the common strategy for meeting budget shortfall. If income and aid are available from stated sources, then funding expenses is affordable.
——————————————————————————————————————-
Spending or Costs Elimination:
In this category, the lawmakers vehemently opposed to tax increases propose massive cutbacks and reduction in spending by a sweeping shutdown of essential services and programs with dire consequences in the long term.
Ironically, investment in education, health, housing, energy and environment are easy targets as “wasteful spending” for legislators in opposition to tax hikes during budget crisis. Those policy makers fail to understand the importance of protecting and nurturing the beneficiaries of these programs as they contribute to the economy today and tomorrow as taxpayers.
Lately, legislators have taken a swipe at education or investment in public school systems at both state and federal levels. It is tragic that such measures are even contemplated leave alone legislated in the industrialized and advanced nation that should be leading the world in K-12 educational program.
The public school system in the State of California and across the nation is in shambles. The infrastructure and the general classroom environment are in desperate need of face-lift to improve academic performance by students of all socio economic backgrounds.
Every dollar spent in a child is an investment in future.
Complete overhauling is required in areas like classroom size, materials including new Textbooks, enriched curriculum with emphasis in Math and Science, Music and Arts, Sports facilities, recruitment of qualified teaching staff, Teachers’ salary, training and professional development, new energy efficient buildings regardless of districts and zones in every state.
Undoubtedly, education must be a priority with K-12 system being the foundation for young minds entering the academic world. The reason United States is lagging behind in international standards is due to neglect of our school system particularly the early learning stage (K-12) when the opportunity to help every student thrive is available to educators.
Therefore, the state and the federal government are obligated to enhance achievements in educational programs through investments in the state-of-the-art educational system.
Similarly, health, housing, energy and environment are equally important as the taxpayers benefit from adequate health care, proper housing, affordable energy, clean and safe environment.
——————————————————————————————————————
Pragmatic Solutions:
The best option to reconcile California budget is to consider both tax increases and costs reduction as suggested by many analysts and experts on this issue.
According to the analysis by San Jose Mercury News, February 8, 2009
Budget spending outpaced inflation and state’s growth.
Interestingly, the social services and K-12 education received proportionately less funding as compared to the extra spending identified in Criminal Justice, health care and filling the gap for the reduced vehicle license fee in the analysis of actual spending in 2007-2008.
First, action is required to identify the revenue sources via tax increases.
1. Marginal increase in Sales Tax of goods and services including the sales on the cyberspace would provide an even tax distribution for the society.
2. Increasing Vehicle License fee for all is necessary to address the massive deficit. In this context, it is important to raise another explosive issue of undocumented workers in California without drivers’ license or vehicle registrations.
Issuing drivers license and allowing all undocumented workers to register their vehicles would not only generate income for the state, it would also strengthen state and national security with the documentation of all residents in the state.
Subsequently, acquiring vehicle insurance by the undocumented workers would minimize the burden on registered owners in addition to stimulating the economy through insurance industry.
At present any vehicle registration or insurance by undocumented workers carried out in a back alley manner depriving the state due proceeds.
3. Target items for tax increase to reduce health care costs such as tobacco, hard liquor products and items subject to possible health abuse.
4. In the establishment of social standards, tax increases on winnings through gambling and advertisement sales of pornography (assumed to be a multibillion dollar industry) is justified to make way for important social services and programs.
5. Review and revise taxation policy for California Corporations hoarding income in tax havens along with their offshore subsidiaries.
6. Airport tax, Port fees, dutiable goods, customs and excise duty are other sources of revenue.
7. Increase tax on entertainment industry to pay for education, kids welfare, community hospitals, colleges and institutions.
8. Specific environmental protection act by levying heavy penalties on environmental pollution (air, land and sea) through negligence such as oil spilling, carbon emissions and violation of aviation standards.
9. Marginal increase in gasoline tax would enable energy efficient programs such as solar, wind and hydro thermal power.
10. Last but not the least, leasing government land to corporations and scientific institutions, university laboratories or airline industry with enforcement of strict environmental regulations, not excluding sale of government assets no longer useful in the short or long run.
——————————————————————————————————————————————-
Costs Reduction:
Criminal Justice System:
A thorough examination of the Criminal Justice system is necessary from the analysis and news reports.
The State must devise a mechanism to reduce prison population through major social reforms at all levels beginning with the juvenile detention center.
Further, the parole system, three strikes law and other misdemeanor charges reassessed and offenders deployed in monitored community services rather than crowding prisons is the ideal strategy to cutback spending.
Health Care:
Healthy Approach to reducing health care costs –
Medicaid for senior citizens and economically disadvantaged population.
Promoting preventive care with immunizations.
Early diagnosis of diseases through annual or bi-annual medical checkups and
Subsidized prescription drugs through tax incentives to pharmaceutical and bio-tech industry are few possibilities to deal with health care crisis.
Counseling services and Therapy for psychological and other mental health problems as a preliminary screening process to ease the substantial costs in this regard.
General well being encouraged through active life combined with healthy diet in schools and other areas of the community.
Vehicle License Fee backfill – To be reinstated as outlined above.
General Government – Electronic record keeping and updating technology would considerably improve efficiency and prohibit excessive spending in administrative services.
Higher Education – Engagement in community development activities in return for student loans is a progressive cost recovery scheme.
Transportation – Cost savings methods and effective transportation means aimed at conservation of time and energy recommended for this expense.
Resources and environment – Best to follow guidelines suggested above for environment.
All other costs and spending not discussed or highlighted must be carefully reviewed and those proven redundant with no benefit to taxpayers or the State eliminated to reconcile the budget.

Time for Action by California Legislators
Investment in better education and all of the essential services means building future with healthy, responsible and productive citizens as opposed to increasing prison population demanding major diversion of funding to criminal justice system.
There is an urgency to underscore the fact that not all taxpayers necessarily benefit and appreciate the frugal tax savings by preventing tax increases because such action favors the wealthy minority while leaving the majority marginalized in a society.
If the legislators really care for their constituents and the state/nation they pledge to serve, they need to pause and reflect on the realities of depriving majority of the population to decent lifestyle and economic prosperity, the predominant cause of the current sluggish consumer spending.
Often, provision of unemployment and social security benefits, Medicaid, health insurance, food stamps…dismissed as socialized enigma in a Capitalist economy. Unfortunately, a reminder is required that subscribers of these benefits and services ultimately contribute to the success of the capitalist system as consumers of various products and services.
As stated earlier in the blogpost titled Redistribution of Wealth, Oct 31, 2008, www.padminiarhant.com
Promoting economic status as highlighted above…
Eventually, create a fair system of sharing the economic burden by all rather than only by the affluent ones.
Such farsighted and permanent solutions are in direct contradiction to the myth and misnomer of the doctrine against short term tax increases essential to combat severe economic recession.
Socialism, Marxism may well be the nemesis to Capitalism,
Capitalism cannot thrive without consumerism – – That is the fact
California budget crisis must be resolved with no further delay.
It is time for legislators to set the priorities right to fit in with the new millennium goals.
Thank you.

Economic Recovery Plan (ERP)
February 3, 2009
It is obvious from the headlines and news editorials across the nation that the economy is in deep recession.
San Jose Mercury News January 31, 2009 – Thank you.
GDP plunges at 3.8%, worst slide in quarter century
Autos – Valley car sales hit 15-year low – and 2009 looks worse
Wall Street – Worst January ever as Dow drops 8.8% this month
Washington – bruising battle over stimulus, Obama acts to bolster labor
Mortgage crisis spreading to affluent areas.
Meanwhile – Exxon Mobil sets U.S. record; $45.2 billion annual profit.
World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland concludes that the world is dealing with financial crisis with no solutions.
——————————————————————————————————————–
Optimistic View
Despite such gloom and doom, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
A thorough review and analysis of the problems that primarily contributed to the current economic crisis is essential in understanding the fundamental cause of the present economic recession.
Then addressing each issue on priority basis including the failure of various stimulus packages by the previous administration must be an integral part of the remedial measures for the economic recovery.
It is common knowledge that the origin of the current recession stems from various sources,
1. Subprime mortgage crisis contributed to housing market decline.
2. The major components attributing to the decline in housing prices are foreclosures due to default homeowners and delinquencies in mortgage payments.
3. Financial institutions holding high-risk mortgage backed securities sought bailout of their insolvency with taxpayers’ generosity.
4. Banks and other financial institutions decided to stranglehold the credit market leading to liquidity freeze with an adverse effect on consumer based industry represented by small businesses, retail outlets, medium corporations and homeowners alike.
5. Small businesses, Retail industry and medium corporations as the foundations of the economic infrastructure could not survive or sustain growth in the absence of credit facilities blocked by the financial institutions.
6. As stated earlier on numerous occasions, the collapse of small businesses, retail industry and medium corporations have a domino effect on wholesale manufacturers ultimately owned by major corporations in any industry.
7. Hence, the layoffs triggered from the bottom of the economic pyramid spread across the aisle and all the way to the top affecting emerging and viable corporations in many sectors.
8. As a result, the unemployment rate went soaring up to 7.8% with most states reporting double digit in this respect.
9. The credit crunch combined with housing market crisis significantly hurt investor confidence and led to the selling frenzy of stocks and investments by short term and new investors in the stock market. In addition, the current static in the credit market and the general economy has forced average consumers to live off their investments and savings.
10. Despite, capital infusion through bailouts and consistent productivity by all industries, the dismal stock market performance is related to poor earnings from the sluggish consumer spending in the competitive market and globalized economy.
Therefore, Consumer spending is the catalyst for revival of the job sector and corporate growth with desired earnings eventually reflecting in the stock market performance.
———————————————————————————————————————
Primary Cause and Effect
Housing market crisis – Decline in housing prices due to Foreclosures, Delinquency in Mortgage Payments with no refinancing opportunities.
Liquidity freeze or Credit Crunch – Small businesses, Retail industry and Medium Corporations deprived of cash flow by banks and financial institutions declared bankruptcy and subsequently the manufacturing sectors as well as the large Corporations producing mass layoffs.
Inadequate Consumer spending – Because of rising unemployment and scarce financial resources with no access to home equity other than dwindling investments in savings and stock holdings.
Lack of Accountability and Transparency from previous bailouts – Wall Street bailout of $700 billion have not been followed through with Corporate executives rewarding themselves to a tune of $20 billion in extravagant bonuses and perks.
Inaction and dormant role by the Congressional Oversight Committee set up for overseeing the purpose of bailout i.e. activate lending to the deserving and qualified business sectors and homeowners has further exacerbated the credit crunch.
Alarming Deficit – Multi-trillion dollar deficit accumulated by the previous administration from excessive borrowings predominantly from China, Saudi Arabia and Japan precipitously diminished the dollar value in the international market.
GDP plunges because of trade imbalances and culmination of all of the above factors in the domestic front of the frail economy.
Financial Commitments – Funding two major wars in Iraq and Afghanistan exhausted the national treasury and reserves besides overshadowing the onset of economic recession at home.
Wasteful Spending – Some legislators’ penchant for pet projects aka pork barrel spending or earmarks to oblige excessive lobbying from campaign donors led to misappropriation of budget replacing funding for essential services benefiting children, disabled and mentally ill patients, senior citizens, veterans, youth population, retirees and all those at the bottom of the socio economic strata.
Ironically, budget is vigorously debated over matters that are counter-productive while ignoring the myopic view of issues…
Universal health care
Energy efficient programs
Overhauling of educational system particularly public schools, state and community colleges through adequate funding.
Effective environmental policies.
Investments in science and technology to advance research and development in the areas of stem cells, regenerative medicine and Genomics.
Creative Arts and learning with a broad perspective of cultural exchanges between nations.
Space exploration in search of knowledge and facts for humanitarian cause.
Channeling appropriation of funds towards Peace Corps to promote peace and diplomacy for national security as opposed to defense spending and proliferation of nuclear technology.
Veteran Affairs involving care and rehabilitation of combat forces during and post war period as well as extending housing, education and health care for their dependents.
Expansion of Sports and recreational activities for public schools and communities through federal funding to States as a measure to keep health care costs down.
An elaborate version will be presented on what federal and state governments can do for the citizens who are taxpayers, consumers and most importantly electorate in a democracy.
———————————————————————————————————————
Time for Action – Effective Strategies
Since the cause of the economic crises have been identified, it is time to address the problems with effective solutions i.e. strategies.
The nation desperately needs relief from the burgeoning crises:
Housing market crisis – Immediate measures required with a moratorium on foreclosures for two years supplemented with refinancing for default and delinquent mortgagees at the existing market rate or lower to adjust the deficiency in home value.
Liquidity Crisis or Credit Crunch – It is incumbent on the Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and the Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke along with Congress and the Congressional Oversight Committee to hold Wall Street accountable for the $700 billion taxpayers’ funds and demand they facilitate liquidity and honor the commitment to the taxpayers.
Failure to comply with the requirement should have implications such as sale of all those beneficiaries’ assets and financial instruments withheld as collateral during borrowing assuming the previous administration adhered to the regular lending practices particularly a bailout of this magnitude.
Corporations and legislators alike must be held accountable for their actions and inactions to demonstrate that no one is held above the law in the land of republic.
Consumer Spending – President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package for $819 billion passed by Congress and now the proposed package worth $867 billion for Senate approval deserves attention and action.
As discussed above, consumer spending is vital and instrumental to stimulate economy.
Again, consumers as victims of mass layoffs, debilitating job market, volatile stock market, and declining housing market have nothing to rely upon for income normally used in purchase of goods and services.
The cash strapped economy has evolved into a stagnant quagmire with disastrous consequences. It is imperative to relieve the economy with necessary tools that are contained in President Obama’s stimulus package.
President Barack Obama has unveiled the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to revive the economy by easing the burden on consumers with debts, failing small businesses as well as Corporations in requirement of capital investment.
President Barack Obama during his weekly radio address acknowledged the urgency to get credit flowing again to families and businesses. The President further promised to help lower mortgage costs and extend loans to small businesses so they can create jobs.
The administration, the president said, would ensure that chief executives “are not draining funds that should be advancing our recovery,” and the assistance to the financial system would be accompanied by “unprecedented transparency, rigorous oversight and clear accountability, so taxpayers know how their money is being spent and whether it is achieving results.”
The President was empathetic towards homeowners, students and small businesses in need of loans but left to fend on their own while Banks have been extended a hand with a bailout.
There is obviously a stark contrast in the objectives between the stimulus package of last year and the current one by President Barack Obama.
According to an article by New York Times on this issue – “The previous administration’s The Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) was supposed to be used up to buy the banks’ troubled mortgage-related assets. But, the Bush administration’s Treasury Department shifted gears, using the program instead to shore up the banks by injecting them with capital.
But instead of being inspired to lend more, too many banks hoarded their new capital, critics of the financial industry say.”
President Obama is seriously committed towards alleviating the suffering of ordinary citizens with necessary tax breaks of $500 for individuals and $1000 per family and tax incentives to small businesses including corporations with limited resources.
The Obama administration’s economic stimulus package has specific targets to bolster the economy and welcome sharing of public concerns on issues related to jobs, business, mortgage situation…
Since the commencement of his Presidency, the President has pledged support for the victims of the worst economic crisis. It is apparent from the actions taken within short period of the President assuming office.
The new millennium has brought series of disasters on our nation with the economy hitting rock bottom. There are undeniable challenges ahead and it requires the entire nation to come together in resolving every crisis.
Even though, a new President was elected on the message of hope and change , it is the responsibility of every citizen and particularly the legislators as representatives of their constituents to act immediately in the approval of the proposed stimulus package.
Any procrastination will only lead to further deterioration of the worsening economy. It is not the time for partisan politics as the stakes are high with too many unfortunate events unfolding as time goes by.
The victims are none other than the electorate entrusting power to their legislators for action on normalization of job, stock and housing market.
——————————————————————————————————————–
Summary of Economic Recovery Plan
President Barack Obama’s stimulus package is essential to revive consumer spending, housing market, job market and corporate growth directly influencing stock market performance.
It is important to ensure that pork barrel spending does not find its way in this stimulus package during deliberation by reluctant policymakers.
Economic recovery is inevitable with discipline, determination and drive –
To eliminate or minimize costs proven liabilities.
Strategic planning and monitoring through rigorous oversight.
Implementation of effective policies with guaranteed results.
Targeting problems with efficient programs.
Restoration and preservation of jobs through investments benefiting the workforce.
Reviewing tax structures to create incentives for business sectors dealing with liquidity crisis.
At the same time closing any gaps or loopholes for tax evasions by corporations and legislators.
Relieving homeowners with appropriate measures as suggested above.
Reform of institutions lacking in ethics and moral conduct.
Enforcement of law and order with consequences for non-compliance regardless of hierarchy.
Conscientious effort to reduce deficit by restraining overseas borrowing and commitment towards domestic economic growth within a specified timeframe.
Pursuit of common goals and objectives via collective action is important reflecting every individual’s desire to succeed in all endeavors.
Our nation provided opportunities, prosperity and happiness during economic boom and now it is the moment for all citizens to collaborate and help our newly elected President Barack Obama execute the tasks required for speedy economic recovery.
The fate of our nation is hanging in balance from the monumental crises and legislators in the Senate have an awesome responsibility to move forward and approve the economic stimulus package proposed by President Barack Obama to avert more calamities.
Thank you.

Happy New Year!
January 1, 2009
Welcome to a New Beginning.
Indeed, the year 2008 was historic in many aspects.
Briefly, 2008 was the year of Salvation and Celebration.
Salvation of financial and manufacturing sectors to rescue our nation from the brink of collapse besides enabling world markets to perform the balancing act until concrete economic policies implemented at home.
Celebration in rejoicing the election of the first African American candidate Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States by proving that challenges are overcome through unity, determination and optimism.
We have great many tasks ahead of us. It requires all of us to get started from day one in sharing the responsibilities of this incredible trash clearance.
It is comparable to a wild party by drunken, rambunctious, overgrown teenagers leaving a big mess behind for sober, sensible and mature adults to clean after them.
The ancient civilizations have great many proverbs and adages and one of them is,
"Yesterday’s the past and
Tomorrow’s the future
Today is a gift – which is why they call it the present"
Those who possess the blessing of the gift must act on it and not waste precious present by dwelling in the past or guessing the future.
However, one must learn from the past mistakes to avoid them now and in the future.
There is abundance energy, resolve and enthusiasm available among all of us for rebuilding the nation.
Collective involvement yields rapid progress.
Although, we have elected a new President to resolve too many crises, each and every one of us are obligated to ourselves and our children in showing that we care by demonstrating fiscal responsibility, energy conservation, environmental protection and,
Most importantly accepting one another as humans prior to any other identification for a better future.
The present situation has left us with no choice other than consider ways to;
Exercise frugality over wasteful spending
Living within rather than beyond means.
Invest resources wisely to safeguard present and future existence.
Establish peace over war .
At the minimal, engage in empathy and sympathy for those less fortunate at home and abroad.
Our actions and decisions largely contribute the outcome of any matter.
The events over the past eight years will serve as testimony in political history that performance lacking in moral judgment is a recipe for disaster.
It is also a rude awakening for democratic and free market systems that absence of oversight and accountability leads to regrettable consequences.
Henceforth, the new beginning must entail the protocol that Washington and Wall Street are accountable for budget plans, legislative measures, taxpayer bailouts and,
Ensure no preferential treatment to those abusing power during scrutiny of misdeeds and mismanagement.
Similar bindings are necessary on State legislators including Governors as well.
In fact, Congress representing the people and the judicial system must act against all those responsible for the current mayhem i.e. bankrupt economy and unjustified Iraq war to preserve law and order.
Our commitment to the present and future must involve effective leadership at all levels with the emphasis on result oriented planning and policymaking to address every crisis confronting the nation.
Above all, partisanship obstructing the legislation of every bill and policy is a major obstacle.
It is best to put conventional Washington and State politics to rest and recognize the importance of bipartisanship for solutions to every problem in national interest.
Overall, the journey is arduous but hope and promise combined with patience, perseverance and labor makes destination accessible.
Wishing you all a bright, prosperous and peaceful 2009.
Thank you.

Time for Action on Auto Rescue Plan
December 16, 2008
Once again, partisan politics prevails over national interest in the backdrop of the economic crisis due to skyrocketing foreclosures, credit crunch and now,
Record unemployment at 6.7%, expected to rise further from the lack of action by the legislators, leaving the fate of the million workers in our nation hanging in balance.
The extreme demands by the legislators voting against the rescue plan to,
The United Auto Workers (UAW) union to agree to steep wage cuts to bring their pay equivalent to the Japanese auto industry is preposterous and poses the legitimate question to them in return.
Have these legislators made similar demands to the CEO’s of the auto industry prior to urging UAW to agree to such double standards?
Further, the following question from a wise representative of democracy to the so-called lawmakers otherwise the boulders contributing to the roadblock or failure of any important legislation is praiseworthy.
Even though the question is in context with the California State of affairs, it is still relevant as the Californian legislators particularly the Republican Party representatives have sworn to mimic their federal counterparts in escalating the economic recession.
Ref: Mercury news, December 12, 2008 – Thank you.
"What sacrifices are our leaders making?
Considering the latest estimates of the financial crisis facing California, I think we should all be asking our elected officials what sacrifices they plan to make during these hard times.
We the taxpayers are bracing for increases in taxes and fees, decreases in services, huge layoffs of public and private sector employees.
I have yet to hear anything about cuts being considered to the compensation, pension plans, health care, car allowances, per diem, etc., that our representatives enjoy.
The fact is that these so-called leaders are at the helm of this shipwreck.
Ultimately, it is their responsibility to run this state in a fiscally responsible manner.
They have failed miserably.
We should demand that any plan to bridge this budget gap start with cuts to those who failed us. "

Article: Suppliers see their demise if Big 3 become insolvent
By Bill Vlasic and Leslie Wayne, New York Times.
Ref: Mercury News, December 12, 2008 – Thank you.
The excerpt from the article deserves attention.
“The hypotheticals about the domino effect of the companies’ troubles through the vast network of auto supplier firms – which employ more than twice as many workers as the carmakers – are becoming real.
Top of Pyramid
The Big Three, and their foreign competitors, are what most people think make up the entire auto industry.
But the car manufacturers are just the top of the pyramid.
While GM, Ford and Chrysler employ 239,000 people in the United States, the country’s 3,000 or so auto suppliers have more than 600,000 workers.
Most of the suppliers are not highly waged; they have no big pensions,…
Washington has a myopic view of the auto industry.
They just think of the Big Three and don’t think of us,” i.e. the suppliers.
————————————————————-
Challenge the Opponents:
What strategy or proposal the White House and the opposing legislators have in mind about the economy?
So far, they have been highly successful with their dogmatic policies that have led the economy towards recession.
With the lack of action in this matter, the collapse of other industries is imminent worsening the situation comparable to a black hole.
Aren’t they satisfied with the calamities they have brought upon this nation, that they are further determined to see through the peril before their much-awaited departure from the White House?
All these legislators including Senate Democrats in opposition to saving jobs and helping families through this rescue plan ought to think wisely, as they might be inadvertently putting themselves on notice in 2010.
For some, it might happen even sooner as there is a process called recall in a democratic system.
The people of the United States have learned a harsh lesson through Bush administration.
Conventional wisdom dictates that when something is of no value, it is best to discard and replace it with one of use that serves the purpose.
In the case of the incumbent administration, the notion might be what harm any inaction might do now as the term is nearing end.
History will do its part with judgment on the performance of any administration regardless of the cosmetic presentation by the representatives of the outgoing administration.
Notwithstanding the impending justice to be delivered for crime against humanity specifically violation of constitution thus far by oligarchy and their members.
In addition, the repercussions of the failures of any administration or individuals representing a political party cannot be ignored, especially if they are encouraging their clan (as it appears to be the norm in contemporary politics including democracy ) to retain Power further down the road.
No matter, how one circumvents the situation leading to the downfall of the once prosperous economy, the fact remains that willful negligence or malevolent policy to settle scores with opponents will result in their own ouster from the positions as legislators.
The elimination of the namesake lawmakers aka troublemakers will be the result of illogical conduct and abuse of power against the people and nation they falsely pledge to serve at all times and diligently during crisis.
Options for the White House to salvage the demise of the political party they represent in the coming elections is to act in the best interests of the people who are the electorate with the ability to entrust Power through electoral process.
Up until recently, the serious backlash suffered by the Republican Party represented by the incumbent administration in 2006 and 2008 is ominous that those who fail to deliver their commitments to democracy will share similar outcome reaching the point of no return to power.
——————————————————————–
Action Required:
It is incumbent on the Treasury department and the White House to come forward and immediately release the unused $15 billion from the $350 billion financial bailout draw down currently held in cash to rescue the autoworkers and millions of jobs at stake.
Failing to avert the inevitable collapse of the industries providing food and livelihood for the electorate with power to elect officials to serve the public will be detrimental to the success and approval of the final bailout $350 billion defending the finance industry.
The authorization of the $15 billion from the current $350 billion is imperative barring any mandatory demand for wage cuts and benefits to the workers and UAW.
Any conditions to the rescue plan will apply to the CEO’s of the industry from cashing in bonuses and extravagant remuneration including kickbacks and shady Washington deals with the lobbyists by the legislators elected to protect national interest rather than self-interest.
Urgency of this auto rescue measure will prove the effectiveness of democracy in action.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of the Treasury department along with the White House to act promptly by releasing the cash held $15billion from the previously approved taxpayers’ $350 billion for the financial bailout and save the American workforce as well as the economy.
Procrastination rather than action in this matter will lead to the unrequested irrelevance and perhaps the end of a major political party in the coming elections by making way for the emergence of new political faction in the near future.
Thank you.
Padmini Arhant
P.S. The suggested plan of action also applies to the California legislators, currently engaged in threatening democracy and progress in all fronts of the legislation.

Home is Where the Heart Is
December 5, 2008
I have, literally, stayed in places around the world, from foreign Australia, to exotic India, to beautiful Paris, to the tropical Caribbean, and, of course, San Jose, California.
However, the place I call home, the place that draws me in like a magnet, coagulating in harmony with my very soul; is none other than New York City.
Ever since the first moment I stepped onto New York ‘soil’, I was fascinated by the heartbeat of the city.
I love everything about it, even the people.
The way the buildings tower over the residents in Manhattan, creating a somewhat urban picturesque scene, drew me in.
It created a sense of closeness and cluster, which I had absolutely no problem with.
The modernity of the city is another thing I adore. The very essence of the city, its people, its attitude, its culture; are all what make it great.
My favorite part of New York City is Manhattan, by far.
Sure, the bourgeoisie attitude and feel of the richer parts is what most people like, but I am partial to the real Manhattan, the street side; where people know who they are and what the world is really like.
To me, this is where the pulse of the city lies, where people from all over the world come together to rush to work on time, or to catch a flight to a meeting.
I think New York City holds the entire world in one big ‘apple’, so to speak. In other words, ideas from across the globe come together in New York City.
You can find anyone or anything you need on one island. For example, when I was in Manhattan in winter of 2007, I stayed there for one week.
During the course of that week, we had the opportunity to eat or way across the world, with such cuisines as Thai, Afghan, Moroccan, Nigerian, and, obviously, a traditional New York City diner.
Another aspect of New York that I truly enjoy is its people. A one week stint in Brooklyn is enough to make anyone reshape their image of the world.
The people in New York City are varied greatly, from the hard working single-moms who struggle to make ends meet, to the upper-class Cadillac-drivers who don’t give two hoots about the people around them.
It is interesting how both of these extremes somehow coexist in one city.
The people of New York City are unlike any other, in that most of them have mainly one goal: to get through the day.
I like the New York folk because they are a hard-headed bunch, but they know their ideals and they know the difference between right and wrong.
Additionally, the design of the city is another detail I admire. New York City is composed of five districts: Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
These districts are interconnected by various highways and bridges, making travel from one island to another easy. Knowing these roads is the key to getting around.
The varied architecture of New York is an interesting concept.
On one island, you have sprawling areas of gargantuan skyscrapers reaching out up to the heavens;
While on a neighboring island, you have domestic areas like houses and apartments, similar to the kind you might picture when you hear the word ‘suburb’.
The architecture of New York City is yet another example of polar opposite coexisting in one amazing city.
New York City is definitely the place I call home. The heartbeat of the city echoes my own, and I wish to live there one day, at least for a few years, to satisfy my craving for the ‘Concrete Jungle’.
Thank you.

Change we can believe in – The ideal Secretary of State
November 24, 2008
Let us see what the American electorate and some courageous journalists/reporters thoughts are in this respect.
The authors in the capacity as responsible journalists and citizens have raised some relevant questions of the most important aspect of new presidency i.e. recruiting staff members for key positions and administrative tasks.
—————————————————————
The author, Mr. Pinsker has highlighted the ironies between the Lincoln Presidency and the scenario with the future Obama Presidency.
Obama shouldn’t copy Lincoln’s Cabinet style – Matthew Pinsker, author of “Lincoln’s Sanctuary: Abraham Lincoln and the Soldiers’ Home,” wrote the article for the Los Angeles Times.
Consider this inconvenient truth: Out of the four leading vote-getters for the 1860 Republican presidential nomination whom Lincoln placed on his original team, three left during his first term – one in disgrace, one in defiance and one in disgust.
Chase was the defiant rival.
As Goodwin acknowledges, the Treasury chief never reconciled himself to Lincoln’s victory, continuously angling to replace him.
Lincoln put up with this aggravation until he secured renomination and then dumped his brilliant but arrogant subordinate because, in his words their “mutual embarrassment” was no longer sustainable.
The significance of Seward’s contributions as Lincoln’s secretary of state have been challenged by many historians, and his repeated fights with other party leaders were always distracting.
Lincoln was a political genius, but his model for Cabinet-building should stand more as a cautionary tale than as a leadership manual.”
———————————————————
One of my favorite and esteemed journalists, Mr. Friedman poses a potent issue…
Cabinet post for Clinton presents special concerns – Thomas L. Friedman is a New York Times columnist.
“So President-elect Barack Obama is considering Hillary Clinton as secretary of state,
How should we feel about that?
My question is whether a President Obama and a Secretary of State Clinton,
Given all that has gone down between them and their staffs, can have that kind of relationship,
Particularly with Clinton always thinking four to eight years ahead, and the possibility that she may run again for the presidency.
I just don’t know.
When it comes to appointing a secretary of state, you do not want a team of rivals.”
—————————————————————-
Hillary Clinton a better fit for Senate than secretary of state – David S. Broder, Washington Post columnist.
As per the article…
What President-elect Barack Obama wants and needs in the person running the State Department is a diplomat who will carry out his foreign policy.
He does not need someone who will tell him how to approach the world or be his mentor in international relations.
The last thing he needs is a secretary of state carving out an independently based foreign policy.”
————————————————————–
Obama staff: friends, others – Administration a mix of loyal advisers, Clinton Veterans – Charles Babington and Liz Sidoti, Associated Press
A particular segment of the article is noteworthy:
“Obama raised eyebrows this month when he tapped some of Clinton’s closest allies for important jobs.
John Podesta, Clinton’s former White House chief of staff, is heading the transition effort. Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel, a former top Clinton adviser, is Obama’s chief of staff.
Former Clinton appointees Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano appear in line for Cabinet posts.
Even more, startling to many, Obama has signaled plans to name former first lady Hillary Clinton as secretary of state.
Some Obama supporters have praised him for reaching out to his toughest primary opponent.
But others question why they worked so hard to defeat Clinton only to see her, and many close to her, grab prizes in the new administration.
They note that Obama repeatedly campaigned against “the politics of the past” and Washington “dramas,” thinly veiled jabs at the Clinton presidency as well as President George W. Bush’s tenure.”
———————————————————-
Letter to the editor of mercury news on various dates: Thank you.
Voice of the Electorate…
Business as usual despite change vows –
Barack Obama sucked people into believing he is all about change, which they want more than anything else.
Then once we elect him, he surrounds himself with all the very same people who have absolutely no reason, or desire to change anything. All that has changed here is the name of the guy on top who’s getting his pockets lined.
Good luck, America…it’s business as usual.
David Harbert
—————————————————————–
After election, all we can do is hope –
“It hasn’t taken very long for the media to turn pessimistic on Barack Obama’s ability to deliver on his sweeping promises for change and reform.
Instead there are predictions of smaller incremental improvements, like “Obama can make quick, modest gains on health care”.
This could be the test Joe Biden predicted would come during the early months of the Obama administration, but rather than some external foreign crisis, this will be a test of his internal mettle – a crisis of conscience.
Will Obama have the courage to stand up to the powerful interests in Washington and do what he thinks is right, or will he back down and give up on his promises?
We’ve already voted, now all we can do is hope.”
Rob Morgan
——————————————————————-
Don’t see much change so far –
I did not vote for either Barack Obama or John McCain, but as Obama won the election, he is now my president and I am anxious to see how he will move our country forward.
But throughout the campaign, I kept hearing about “change” and now I see that Obama and his selections are not much “change” at all.
Where are the new faces?
Where is the “change”?
Unfortunately, at least now it seems we’ll all have to wait another four years for “change.”
Brian Chang
——————————————————————-
Where are the fresh faces in Cabinet?
I didn’t vote for Barack Obama, but I’m hoping that he will be a great president because the country needs one.
But I look at some of his nominations for Cabinet and staff positions and wonder where the “change” is going to come from since, as I read online today more than half of the people named to Obama’s transition or staff posts have ties to President Clinton’s administration.
And people like Hillary Clinton as possible secretary of state and Tom Daschle as health and human services secretary seem like “more of the same.”
I was hoping for some fresh faces, but maybe that is still to come.

Analysis:
It is evident from the above articles and comments that the American electorate as well as the nationally acclaimed journalists and authors have spoken regarding the appointees to various posts and nominees for key positions.
I concur with all of them against leaning back to the Clinton era for most important administrative posts and cabinet positions.
The Obama movement for “change” is unique and it should reflect that message starting with the appointment of staff members all around.
It is fair to admit that the former President Bill Clinton had a successful two terms from the economic standpoint.
However, it is worth remembering that foreign policy matter suffered a great deal in many respects, including a terror attack on the World Trade Center.
We are in a new millennium and a dynamic Presidency ahead of us, there is talent galore to fill in cabinet and other administrative positions.
They do not have to be Clinton associates and advisers.
Further, the movement to transform Washington was a pledge to the American electorate with a commitment to have Obama administration represented by outsiders and not insiders of past power and establishment.
Many aspiring and deserving individuals without any ties to political interests in Washington will enthusiastically serve the Obama-Biden administration in utter loyalty and competence unlike seen before.
It is also important to consider many qualified volunteers and campaign staff across the nation for administrative posts who generously offered their time, resources and support for the success of the Obama-Biden candidacy.
The present recruitment or nomination is suggestive of nepotism and favoritism that is typical of Washington all along.
Naturally, the electorate is frustrated not seeing any identifiable change that is desperately required for national interest.
Secretary of State – The most sensitive cabinet position given the present volatile world environment.
Unfortunately, from the track record of the incumbent administration in international affairs, there is an urgent requirement for mending process with peace and diplomacy.
Senator Hillary Clinton is a hard working public official and aptly qualified as a Senator to represent the people of the Great State of New York.
Nevertheless, the reason Senator Clinton lost the primary election was her gaffes regarding foreign policy experience…
Bosnia sniper attack,
Her vows “To Obliterate Iran with Nuclear Weapons”
Failing to acknowledge until the end of the Primary season that her vote for Iraq War was indeed a mistake.
Notwithstanding other facts detailed during Democratic Primary election about her foreign policy resembling the present administration rather than the future Obama administration.
There will be many awkward moments with great conflict of interest if the voting record and political platform of the Secretary of State is drastically different from the President they are serving.
Not excluding the lack of respect and unnecessary diplomatic tension it would create among the international circle.
In a nutshell, Senator Clinton’s experience and leadership is suitable for fulfilling the commitments towards the people of the great state of New York considering the recent political turmoil experienced by them.
Some might argue that disagreement is healthy and perhaps adds a new dimension to the Obama-Biden administration.
Their argument is valid provided, the disagreement is not to undermine the elected President, the highest authority.
Usually, there are two possibilities for individuals to disagree with one another.
First, when the ulterior motive is to promote personal agenda.
Alternatively, when the individual in disagreement genuinely cares about the issue and offers an objective viewpoint to guide the stray party.
Therefore, the ideal candidate for Secretary of State symbolizing the real change,
The promise by Obama-Biden administration…
Is an entity — with a consistent and proven voting record, personal philosophy and firm commitment towards peace and diplomacy in national and international legislations.
Even though, there are quite a few choices available,
The candidate with the following credentials is best suited for the Secretary of State position –
Legitimate concern for civil rights and ethics
Voting against unjustified wars
Voting against unlawful tapping of private communication among citizens of the United States
Reaching across the aisle to work with opponents in a maverick style – a valuable asset in resolving many international conflicts,
That candidate is none other than the elected official from the Great State of Wisconsin, Senator Russ Feingold.
Senator Feingold will demonstrate leadership, experience, patience, confidence and intellect in resolving many pending international conflicts especially the Middle East between the States of Israel and Palestine and other global matter.
It is evident that Senator Feingold by voting against Iraq war displayed courage and judgment like the President-elect Barack Obama.
The similarity between them is uncanny in terms of many issues and policy matter.
At the same time, Senator Feingold has respectfully disagreed with President-elect Barack Obama on issues like Public Financing and FISA.
Senator Feingold has the right balance — maturity and experience in handling any international crisis with poise and diligence to the satisfaction of the American electorate and international community.
Inconclusively, Senator Feingold’s appointment will create an opportunity to expedite the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the best interests of the people of the two nations entitled to independence, peace, security and sovereignty.
Also, curb global terrorism the premise of unresolved Middle east conflict.
Finally, I’m confident that President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will deliver the “authentic Change we can believe in” all matter.
Thank you.

Presidential Communiqué
November 20, 2008
Thus far, the campaign events were about the developments leading to the victory of the Democratic candidate in a historic manner.
It is time to conclude the interesting, dramatic, challenging and the most exciting Presidential race with the honorable acknowledgements.
As stated in the earlier blog posts, my contribution to the Obama candidacy privately acknowledged throughout the campaign by President-elect Barack Obama.
President-elect Barack Obama never failed to express gratitude and deep appreciation of the hard work since my involvement in the campaign.
I received the genuine acknowledgment promptly after every primary race and the general election.
Here are the excerpts of some communication held following important moments of the campaign:
Prior to the acceptance of Democratic Nomination:

Join Barack on Election Night
Padmini –
I want you to be there with me on Election Night when the results come in.
We’re planning a big event that will include tens of thousands of supporters in Grant Park in downtown Chicago.
We’re saving some of the best seats in the house for 5 people who have given to the campaign before — and who decide to make a donation one last time before Sunday at midnight.
You can bring a guest, and we’ll fly you in and put you up in a hotel for the night.
You’ll go backstage at the big event and — no matter what happens — you’ll have a front row seat to history as we celebrate the supporters who got us over the finish line.
Any donation counts — whatever you can afford. Show your support at this crucial time with a donation of $250 or more, and you could join me on Election Night:
https://donate.barackobama.com/frontrow
This movement for change has been a testament to the power of ordinary Americans coming together to achieve extraordinary things.
I look forward to having you there on Election Night.
Thank you,
Barack

Dear Senator Obama,
I am honored and delighted to attend the historic night on November 4, 2008.
I predicted this night in my letter to Amy Goodman of Democracynow.org in mid-January 2008.
Some might say audacious while others, probably presumptuous!
I have absolutely no qualms about your victory on November 4, night.
Hope, you remember that I posted the blog "The Winner" on February 2, 2008 and took lot of heat from the critics during the Primary election.
However, this time I do not wish to spoil the surprise for many feeling nervous about the outcome.
Let me be the first one to congratulate you on your victory as the 44th President of the United States.
My heartfelt Congratulations to you ahead of time!
Best Wishes,

Subject: How this happened
Padmini –
I’m about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.
We just made history.
And I don’t want you to forget how we did it.
You made history every single day during this campaign — every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it’s time for change.
I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.
We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I’ll be in touch soon about what comes next.
But I want to be very clear about one thing…
All of this happened because of you.
Thank you,
Barack

Finally, I am profoundly thankful to President-elect Barack Obama for his kindness, understanding and greatness demonstrated throughout his communication with me.
It is just unfortunate that he could not express his true sentiments in public as stated in earlier blog posts.
It is truly an honor to be part of history.
Thank you.

Transparency – Broken Promise
November 12, 2008
A promise is a promise!
I do not wish to make anyone standby for too long on issues that concerns this nation and the people.
The electorate granting power to elected officials have the right to know the truth about the real authority.
We are about to write a new chapter in history.
The new administration is elected on a popular and unique theme “Change.”
Therefore, it is important to identify the “Change” that is about to transpire in the offing.
Our nation made history by electing an able and spectacular candidacy represented by President elect Barack Obama and Vice President elect Joe Biden.
I am absolutely certain that a positive change will occur through this administration provided,
The Power remains with the elected Presidential candidate and not infiltrated by entities with ulterior motives that is detrimental to national interest.
It is hard to prophesize precisely without accommodating risks and dangers in the horizon.
However, one can recount the personal experience and issue forewarnings about similar events in the near future.
If memory serves from our experience with the current administration, individuals with unsavory track record are usually susceptible to abuse of power.
After all, old habits die hard.
My entire experience as a mandatory volunteer right from the beginning, i.e. way back in January 2008 up until now for Obama campaign is historic despite the dramatic developments behind the scenes which is about to unfold in this blog post.
There was a flurry of requests and continuous flow of communication via email and snail mail to get involved in the election campaign from both Democratic and Republican Parties.

Democratic Party
Dear Senator Obama,
Thank you for your letters and kind remarks.
I have been dealing with some emergencies at the home front and therefore could not respond to your requests. Please accept my apologies.
I am going to be candid and forthright in my communication with you.
I believe in honesty, integrity and sincerity in my commitment to people.
Senator John McCain has been seeking my support since the Presidential elections and more so now.
Several other high profile members of the Republican Party including Mr. Karl Rove follow the requests.
I responded to Senator McCain’s numerous requests to support his campaign.
Senator McCain is persistent and firmly believes that I should join him on board and help him win this highly contested election.
America knows my passion, genuine concern and sincere commitment to see the nation restore economic and social progress, democratic values, free and fair elections, equality, international peace and justice, prosperity and last but not the least environment protection.
I understand that sometimes the conflict between ideologies and pragmatism surges in “Politics”.
Hence, the path of shadow is the choice over light.
It is not a simple decision yet, proven to weaken the fundamental principles of a human being.
It is no secret that the stakes are high not only for the country but also for both political parties.
I share the millions of Americans’ anxiety, frustration and disappointment with the government failure and corporate mismanagement.
Therefore, my decision to represent the choice of candidates is strictly based on the individual and collective policy of each candidate that would benefit the people, business, economy and humanity overall.
I know how important it is to have Washington represented by effective leadership.
If I were to resume my support for your candidacy, I need the following terms and conditions met:
I can no longer work for the campaign as a “volunteer” like I did during the Democratic Primary election.
I need respect, recognition and acknowledgement of my significant contribution not privately,
However, in public with monetary compensation, i.e. salary for my hard work guaranteed to yield results as it did during the Primary election.
I expect nothing less than five star treatment and protection as your representative or surrogate.
I pledge my support to your candidacy if it will represent the people and not the Special Interests/lobbyists.
As well as forces sworn allegiance to policies that has led this great nation to chaos and catastrophe.
Simply stated, the policies must reflect the true democratic values and principles that I stand for and you deeply believe in as revealed by you in your earlier communication with me.
The movement for change will speak loud and clear with our firm commitment to serve the people of the United States.
I look forward to your favorable response as there is very little time left and we all know that time is of the essence in everything especially during election.
Sincerely,
Padmini Arhant

I tried sending six copies of this letter via priority and certified mail with delivery confirmation twice to the President Elect Barack Obama, to maximize receipt by him.
It was successfully intercepted and confiscated by Michelle Obama each time, thereby forcing me to agree to her terms of “My way or High way”, which was no pay, no recognition and in return, donation to the campaign on false pretences.
Meanwhile, Michelle Obama persistently demanded via email and regular mail that I get involved in the campaign immediately up until the election day.

Reality Check:
As usual, Michelle Obama never bothered to email or mail a “Thank you” note up until now in return for my free labor energizing and inspiring the entire nation to grant Obama/Biden candidacy a landslide victory to create history.
Preferential Treatment:
Contrarily, Patti Solis Doyle who managed Senator Hillary Clinton’s campaign successfully negotiated the position as Obama’s Chief of Staff to VP Candidate well before the candidate Senator Barack Obama’s nomination in return for Hispanic votes..
Confirmed by Google Search : Patti Solis Doyle is Obama’s Chief of Staff to VP Candidate. ….. Patti Solis Doyle, who managed Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the first …
Further Abuse of Power:

Original Post: The Fix by Chris Cillizza – Thank you.
Four years removed from running the communications department for John Kerry’s presidential campaign, Stephanie Cutter is joining Barack Obama’s national bid as chief of staff to the candidate’s wife.
Cutter will not only run Michelle Obama’s political world but will also serve as a senior adviser to the campaign.
It’s a critical role given the focus already on Michelle Obama on the campaign.
The potential future first lady drew unwanted attention earlier in the race when she declared that her husband’s candidacy was "the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country."
—————————————————————
Focal Point:
This appointment took place in advance — June 2008, prior to the party nomination of the President-elect Barack Obama.
The Democratic Party nomination took place between August 22nd – August 27th 2008.
The million dollar questions are:
1. Since, when is the speculative “First Lady” prior to the candidate’s party nomination is entitled to her own Chief of Staff in the history of White House appointees?
Notwithstanding the fact, the payroll of such unethical appointment was presumptuously bankrolled with the taxpayers funds through donations to the Obama Campaign.
Please visit Presidential Scam – Who is Michelle Obama, on this website www.padminiarhant.com for further confirmation of facts.
2. America, Can our nation really sustain yet another dominant abuse of power?
3. When is it democratic to regard the exploitation of a citizen or citizens, the privilege and prerogative of another for their narcissistic goals?
4. Is it the kind of dream Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had for this nation, where the dominance of one individual over others will be accepted graciously by the pioneer of democracy in the world?
We have already witnessed the tragic outcomes on Prop 8 and Disabled voters – Please refer to my article “The Irony of Equal Rights” on this website.
It is only a matter of time, when the majority will soon be subject to the will of the doctrine that dictates… “Empower Oneself and Enslave the rest."
5. The grave concern is “Does democracy stand a chance under such disguise?”
6. What will happen to the credibility in restoring or establishing democracy elsewhere, when our house is in disarray?
—————————————————————
The entire theme of Change was embraced by the American electorate on the premise of Transparency and Accountability.
When there is gross abuse of power by an entity in a manner resembling the conduct of the present administration, prior to being sworn into the White House,
What might ensue upon assuming authority is the legitimate concern in spotlight?
Well, I never received any response for my request to be paid for the workload allocated to me by Michelle Obama.
However, I received a personal request from the President-elect Barack Obama via email and regular mail.
The original transcript is presented below:
———————————————-
—————————————————————————-
Eventually, I got involved with none of the terms agreed to or obliged by Michelle Obama, for the sake of the country’s future and in honor of the above request from the President-elect Barack Obama.
The only problem being, President-elect Barack Obama was never allowed to acknowledge my contribution in public as stated in the blog post Presidential Scam – Who is Michelle Obama? featured under Politics on this website.
As emphasized, all of the statements in the blog post are testaments and not allegations.
Further evidence is provided in the latest blog post – Presidential Communiqué.
Ironically, Michelle Obama firmly believed in "divine intervention" with winning the election.
Hence, relentlessly pursued me to achieve that goal.
Interestingly, she does not validate the "truth" spoken with great conviction by divinity about her misconduct in general and throughout the election campaign for personal gains.
Indeed, even "Almighty God" is a fair game for those seeking power in politics.
Power and Politics is a dangerous cocktail that intoxicates the human mind with an illusion of "Supremacy" leading to defiance and denial of the actual "Supreme force."
Illusion is confusion, confusion is no sense of direction, no sense of direction is ultimate self-destruction.
Thus proving that end justifies the means. Otherwise known as Karma.
Thank you.

Writer’s Plight
November 9, 2008
In any field, it is widely known that effective communication matter as proven by our President Elect Barack Obama.
Also, witnessed earlier with the writers’ guild on strike for a prolonged period.
Eventually, the entertainment industry had to yield to the legitimate demands of the writers primarily responsible for the success of the artwork production.
Similarly, in politics the speechwriters and communication directors play an important role in showcasing the candidacy to the electorate.
In the advertisement industry, the sales and marketing personnel involved in promotion and distribution of the products are crucial in selling the products to the retailers and finally the consumers.
Often, writers are forgotten souls because they work behind the scenes and therefore easily written off as irrelevant by some entities engaged in "self promotional "activities regardless of the domain.
I had requested earlier on to all the networks in the media and news organization to protect my identity for security reasons during the election campaign.
Another reason for that request was to avoid distraction of the campaign from focusing on real issues and concerns of the electorate.
As demonstrated with Gov. Sarah Palin’s wardrobe and glasses.
The discussion of nitty-gritty details preceded the policy matter.
However, I deeply appreciate the media and news organization for honoring that request.
Even though, the curfew was lifted way back in April 2008.
Considering the fact, that there are individuals opposed to any career or citizen journalists performing as straight shooters , I requested everyone to reveal my identity i.e. refer to me by my real name.
Somehow, the message got lost in the heat of the election campaign.
These entities are doing everything in their power to bury the audacious writers and journalists in the archives by denying them their right to recognition without public acknowledgment of the writer’s contribution to the success of the Presidential victory.
Please stand by for the detailed exposure of this act by the entity.
The absolute certainty of abuse of power in the horizon predicted in my earlier blog post was not a Halloween trick, rather a reality based on personal experience.
Sometimes, it makes one wonder whether this is United States or Russia!
To all individuals from anywhere and everywhere…
Please refer to me by my real name rather than pseudo name when discussing about my blogs, issues or anything concerning me.
There was lot of misconceptions about my identity during the election campaign.
I was Christened with some bizarre names such as…
Underground lady, Mob machine, Chubby lady with an eleven-year-old kid, intangible force, alien, and some even to the extreme of calling me an Al Qaida operative!
I was honored with all these titles during the vigorously battled election and my staunch support for the President Elect Barack Obama.
Well, I have news for all of them.
I am a normal, living and breathing human being.
I surely lived in Australia.
Unlike the wombats over there, I do not dwell in the burrows, I exist on land.
I don’t understand how could I be an Underground lady?
When I was out and about doing regular things that any normal people would do in their life.
The individual who attacked me as the Chubby lady is ignorant of the fact that there is clear distinction between anorexia nervosa and ideal body weight.
Although, healthy living is a personal philosophy strongly advocated in my article under "Health" on this website.
Perhaps, this semi-popular television celebrity should know better that average citizens do not have the luxury to hire Personal trainers with a wakeup call at 4.00 a.m to maintain the vital statistics on par with standards set by vain individuals.
There are lot more important issues to care about in this world and that is exactly what I was busy doing during the entire election term.
The evidence is in the blog postings denoting the time each blog was posted during the campaign which was usually between 10.00 p.m to 9.00 a.m EST except, it is worse when it is converted to PST.
As for being everything else, truth spoken in plain and simple terms is often feared by those not accustomed to that style.
United States is aptly known as the melting pot with population bearing unusual and interesting names.
Finally, I request all my well-wishers and critics alike — please refer to me by my real name —
Padmini Arhant (Pronounced as "Pad" with a mild emphasis on consonant "d", mi and ni – Three syllables) – (Pad-mi-ni )
Arhant – (Pronounced as R-hant )
Your understanding and cooperation is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Padmini Arhant
P.S. Please protect and defend writers’ right.
