Pakistan – Pro-Democracy Resolution
January 18, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
The recent political tension in Pakistan contained through recognition of powers with respective government body is praiseworthy.
Pakistan National Assembly passed pro-democracy resolution with overwhelming majority is a monumental step in strengthening democratic system.
The resolution upholding parliamentary procedure, federation governance and state institutions functionality all within constitutional parameters delineate individual responsibility in adherence to democratic principles with republic retaining absolute power.
The house acknowledged sovereignty belonging to Almighty Allah and,
Parliamentary authority exercised by people elected representatives with parliament being the confluence of consolidated vision and wisdom pledging allegiance to national interest.
Further the national assembly unanimously endorsed the incumbent political leadership of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterating full confidence and trust in leading the nation on democratic path to dispel speculations on Pakistan’s political stability.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani stating utmost respect for judiciary reminded critics of the crucial steps taken upon swearing into office in releasing judges then kept under arrest by former President Pervez Musharraf during emergency rule.
Prime Minister Gilani has given assurance in obliging Supreme Court order on National Reconciliation Ordinance matter.
National Reconciliation Ordinance was unilaterally introduced by predecessor General Pervez Musharraf providing blanket amnesty to law offenders on various corruption scandals such as black money in Swiss bank accounts, embezzlements and tax evasions.
President Musharraf rule implementing economically detrimental ordinance burdened taxpayers in semblance with rest of the global society enduring corruption epidemic.
Pakistan Supreme Court subsequent order to null and void the unconstitutional measure for transparency and remedial response on corruption charges with the current political leadership has led to NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) hearing.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is accused in contempt of Supreme Court order calling for PM action to repeal NRO currently protecting unlawful wealth acquisition and management specifically citing President Asif Ali Zardari Swiss bank accounts maintained under privileged status immunity.
The dilemma for Prime Minister Gilani is President Asif Ali Zardari personal assets scrutiny posing litmus test on functional democracy in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani request to Swiss Bank for full disclosure of accounts and disproportionate assets on all Pakistan nationals including President Asif Ali Zardari would categorically exemplify the government’s democratic nature,
Alongside satisfying Supreme Court’s legitimate inquest on national wealth accountability.
Illegal wealth accumulation directly affects national economy contributing to economic and social inequality in global society.
Crime committed with impunity among political establishment and affluent elitists is the culture threatening meaningful democracy and economic progress world over.
Complacency to hierarchical income distribution widening gap between haves and have-nots diminish prospects for disadvantaged demography prolonging status quo.
Pakistan could perhaps be the trailblazer in transcending politics for revenue recovery besides restoring seriously jeopardized national image and credibility – the contemporary trend across the globe.
Leaderships on spotlight are often required to demonstrate convictions with result-oriented actions.
The decisions demanding diligence and courage for national benefit stand testimony to leadership trustworthiness and ability to deal with challenges ahead.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and coalition partners have a unique opportunity to lead the nation beyond conventionalism in addressing economically crippling corruption issue.
Pro-democracy resolution is a new chapter in Pakistan’s modern history with rationality prevailing over ideology not to mention the declaration on sovereignty reclaimed in accordance with statehood identity.
Good Luck and Best Wishes! To people of Pakistan and leaderships representing democratic institutions in peaceful reconciliation of all issues.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Pakistan – Geo Political Dynamics
January 15, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Pakistan dilemma from memo gate involving political and military leadership is an attempt to destabilize the country threatening national security and democratic viability.
Memo gate originating from Washington is directed at weakening Pakistan political and security apparatus for their defiance in restricting access to U.S. and NATO aggression.
Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani initially appointed by former President General Parvez Musharraf with subsequent three-year extension from current Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.
The undercurrent in Pakistan politics is dispensable diversion emanating from memo gate premised on global domineering forces’ specifically United States security agency obsolete and failed ideology – manufacture crisis to implement policy i.e. occupy nations violating sovereignty for strategic interest.
Memo gate is alleged note from Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari through former ambassador to U.S., Hussain Haqqani requesting United States Military command – the then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen to avert army coup against civilian government.
Although the former U.S. ambassador Hussain Haqqani has already been removed from the position and detained in Pakistan for trial presumably on treason charges,
The protagonist – United States administration coerced conspirator Mansoor Ijaz is prevented from travelling to Pakistan and testify in the Supreme Court on pivotal national issue.
Mansoor Ijaz background according to – The Guardian, United Kingdom – Thank you.
“A controversial American businessman, frequent media commentator and a ferocious critic of Pakistan’s military,
Mansoor Ijaz is a former wall street financier with strong connections to the American security establishment.”
News report also elaborates Mansoor Ijaz claim on two accounts contradictory to one another.
I. “Memo briefing by former Ambassador Hussian Haqqani acknowledged as accuser’s friend,
II. Successively, Mansoor Ijaz and Pakistan ISI (Inter-services intelligence agency) Chief, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Shuja Pasha discreet meeting at a hotel on Park Lane in London to share the so-called explosive information.
Notwithstanding Mansoor Ijaz earlier criticism of ISI Chief Pasha as ‘known babysitter’ of Osama Bin Laden in the wake of U.S Navy Seals operation in Abbottabad.
Evidently, Mansoor Ijaz presence in Pakistan to unravel the ill-fated plan against Pakistan society represented by political establishment, military and intelligence institutions is paramount to contain the spiraling controversy.
Mansoor Ijaz failure to appear in Pakistan’s court considering prominent role played in instigating one against another would clarify the crisis source.
Furthermore, Mansoor Ijaz is confirmed to have stated his earlier intentions to reveal all i.e. ‘unaltered truth’ on the burgeoning issue in Pakistan courts only to be retracted now upon U.S. administration behest.
Pakistan has been the combat zone in the so-called war on terror since 9/11 and the predecessor President Musharraf – a close ally in the U.S operation from Pakistan facilitated army bases including drone attacks in exchange for $10 billion in military aid transforming Pakistan into a beleaguered nation.
General Musharraf rule encompassed –
Close ties with Afghan Taliban enabling embassy in Pakistan.
Osama Bin Laden mobility and medical treatment in Rawalpindi,
Madrassas proliferation paving way to myriad terror networks,
Pakistan Taliban emergence,
Various nefarious characters granted amnesty,
Pakistan ISI collusion with terror groups on General Musharraf’s watch summarize the President in reserve legacy as ‘reliable’ partner in the eternal war on terror.
Additionally, President Musharraf resumé comprise –
Abandoning constitution and national elections,
Opposition members and Supreme Court justices’ imprisonment,
Nuclear states – Pakistan and India tensions escalated into near nuclear confrontation during Kargill war in 1999 and,
Last but not the least,
Implicated in Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto assassination with arrest warrant issued upon returning to Pakistan.
Given the trajectory – the whole enchilada betraying national and international trust,
Concerted effort among hegemony and foreign conglomerate owned Indian media sponsoring General Parvez Musharraf reinstatement to power euphemize international acceptance theory.
Further, the expectation reveals the paradoxical selection criteria on leaderships in the world yearning for peace and liberty.
General Parvez Musharraf – the self-exiled leader in London preparation to resume office in semblance with previous Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto re-entry to power could be miscalculating the sentiments among those affected by the General’s authoritarianism.
The development is yet another trial and error seeking tragedy.
Post Musharraf period in Pakistan has been tumultuous with history repeating itself in Bhutto dynasty.
Contemporary politics conundrum is leadership appointment serving exclusive and foreign interests rather than republic choice election.
Political parties outreach to dynasties and celebrities promote symbolic politics severely lacking in substance and solutions to mainstream problems in life.
Alienated from world realities with focus on individual aspiration to sustain fame and fortune, the misrepresentation exacerbates the vast majority plight.
Essentially affluence influencing society could be multidimensional.
Anything yielding positive outcome benefitting humanity at large would dignify both benefactor and beneficiary.
However, wealth acquired by illicit means invested to propitiate entities from average citizen to Almighty God is corruption for absolvent exhibiting true colors with serious repercussions in the end justifying the means to success.
The trend with conspicuous barriers also deters unsung heroes and geniuses dedicated to community and national service from entering the political domain.
Transformation in this regard could begin with political reform through electoral eligibility determined by wisdom, will power and track record to serve the people as well as the nation rather than wealth or stardom gaining prominence.
People deserve qualified candidacies adept in dealing with national and international challenges prioritizing public service over private goals.
Personal objectives would reflect honesty and integrity in caring for life other than self and the next of kin defining human character – the ethereal beauty unlike the skin deep cosmetic appearance.
Reverting to Pakistan political dynamics – As autonomous dominion, Pakistan is a classic example in global dominance breaching national sovereignty.
Pakistan military and intelligence institutions having been engaged in coup until recently i.e. General Parvez Musharraf governance,
The incumbent civilian government concern may not necessarily be misplaced in that context.
Historically, the justifications for military coups in Pakistan were ironically the civilian government abuse of power, chronic corruption and feudalism demonstrated in colonial loyalty.
Though there is element of truth in that respect,
Those subverting Pakistan autonomy changed course and applied same tactics on Pakistan ISI and military to a large extent in cohort with foreign power.
Nevertheless, the latest events in Pakistan –
U.S. raid in Abbottabad directly violating Pakistan statehood with accusations leveled against Pakistan military and intelligence about Osama Bin Laden,
When the entire operation posed credibility factor especially in the absence of evidence evading public demand on Osama Bin Laden corpse supposedly disposed in North Arabian Sea conclusively depicts falsehood.
Pakistan citizens have long endured fatalities from U.S. and NATO drone assaults with no value for life in the clueless and endless mission.
The recent NATO strikes killing 24 Pakistan soldiers and civilian casualty is the tipping point exacerbated with U.S. refusal to apologize on the fatal attacks in Pakistan soil.
The event legitimately attracted worldwide condemnation and brought the allies – Pakistan and U.S together with NATO on brinkmanship.
Consequently, Pakistan Army Chief General Kayani in national defense alerted Pakistani forces to retaliate upon incident recurrence and called for evacuation from Shamsi air base – the launching pad in drone attacks that has claimed more civilian lives than militants.
Prime Minister Gillani government decision to skip Afghan peace conference in Bonn, Germany has apparently bruised emotions in the political circle even though the U.S. apology on the loss of lives was considered a tall order.
The shock treatment from Pakistan military regarded subservient ally has upset the applecart in the ambition against Iran via Pakistan prompting U.S. security agency contact Mansoor Ijaz performance in memo gate to discredit Pakistan Army Chief Kayani and Prime Minister Gillani potentially paving way for the U.S. and NATO favored ally General Parvez Musharraf declaring arrival in homeland amid domestic rift.
Simultaneously the alternative opposition Tehreek-e-Insaf led by cricket star Imran Khan eager to seize political opportunity weighing in with earlier election to dismiss Gillani government.
The fact of the matter being – Pakistan Army Chief General Kayani honorably defended his country at the critical hour by standing up against quintessential threats and repeatedly pledged allegiance to democratic Pakistan eliminating skepticism on possible military coup.
Likewise, Pakistan ISI Chief Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha submitted his resignation that was declined by Prime Minister Gillani following the U.S. indulgence in Abbottabad against international law.
The two separate phenomenal strikes by United States in Pakistan territory share common feature – Pakistan sovereignty compromised.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani conciliatory response with Pakistan military in extending General Kayani’s term and intelligence agency by rejecting Lt. Gen. Pasha’s resignation exemplify the administration’s trust in both organizations – recognized as national pillars by Prime Minister Gillani.
The three leaderships have displayed extraordinary courage and decorum in protecting Pakistan’s interest despite constant external intervention to sabotage stability in the prevalent besetment.
Pakistan has been the experimental battleground to test innovative weaponry with U.S. prolonged warfare allowing mercenaries, CIA deployed paramilitary operatives and foreign agents freely engaged in specific agenda.
Pakistan’s solidarity is imperative now and in the future with full co-operation among three leaderships working alongside and not against each other in rebuilding the nation with tremendous talent.
It is equally imperative for Pakistan military and intelligence to crackdown on terror networks and militancy – the pretext for U.S. occupation in Pakistan.
Pakistan ISI Chief Pasha implementing effective measures in breaking ties with jihadists and terror links within and across the border in Afghanistan would address the terror haven stigma.
Pakistan citizens are exhausted from uncertainties spreading despair and dire situation all around.
Conducting elections prior to end of term is unaffordable and unnecessarily embolden opportunist factions in misguided ventures.
Civilian government under Prime Minister Gillani is a stable and energized team.
Prime Minister Gillani’s ability to work with coalition partners and their willingness to maintain alliance is noteworthy.
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari frequent departure from the country for anything other than health reasons provides fodder to selective media anxious to sensationalize ordinary circumstances into hysteria.
The present civilian government could perhaps modify Presidential status through constitutional amendment.
Furthermore relieving President Zardari from the post and replacing with civil society member would pronounce functional democracy.
Pakistan core leaderships representing the people bear responsibility to safeguard republic needs – a safe and secure Pakistan investing valuable time and resources for rapid economic growth.
The world would also be at ease with democracy prevailing in Pakistan in order to succeed in the competitive sluggish global economy.
Good Luck and Best Wishes to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, Pakistan Army Chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, ISI Chief Ahmed Shuja Pasha and the people of Pakistan in peaceful reconciliation.
Peace, progress and prosperity to Pakistan having survived tribulations until now.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Indian sub-continent –Sovereignty Return and Independent Republic Status
January 10, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
Independence struggle for India and Pakistan resumes in the twenty first century.
British Imperial subjugation of the Indian sub-continent prevalent until now as colonies with autonomy limited to self-governance.
However, sovereignty still maintained with monarchy rather than the respective republic in Dominion status assignment.
Transfer of Power – the treaty signed prior to presumed independence in 1947 amid clandestine meetings held among then Royal representatives including Viceroy and,
Imperialist selected meager representation for several millions at that time do not specify the Imperial role in defense strategy of the ceded territories set up as Dominions.
Furthermore, the axiomatic ambivalence in Transfer of Power against surrender rule and,
Dominion instead of independent sovereign republic declared in –
The Indian Independence Act 1947 – 10 & 11 Geo 6. CH. 30 –
“An Act to make provision for the setting up in India of two independent Dominions, to substitute other provisions for certain provisions of the Government of India Act, 1935, which apply outside those Dominions, and to provide for other matters consequential on or connected with the setting up of those Dominions. [18 July 1947.]
Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
The new Dominions –
1. -(I) As from the fifteenth day of August, nineteen hundred and forty seven, two independent Dominions shall be set up in India, to be known respectively as India and Pakistan.
(2) The said Dominions are hereafter in this Act referred to as “the new Dominions”, and the said fifteenth day of August is hereafter in this Act referred to as “ the appointed day”.
Territories of the new Dominions –
2. —(I) Subject to the provisions of subsections (3) and (4) of this section, the territories of India shall be territories under the sovereignty of His Majesty which, immediately before the appointed day, were included in British India except the territories which, under subsection (2) of this section, are to be the territories of Pakistan.”
The issue emphasize on two key elements pertaining to this Act –
Dominion by definition –
Source – Legal Dictionary – Merriam Webster – Thank you.
Main Entry: do·min·ion
Pronunciation: d&-‘min-y&n
Function: noun
1 a: supreme authority: SOVEREIGNTY b: a territory over which such authority is exercised c often cap:
A self-governing nation (as Canada) of the Commonwealth other than the United Kingdom that acknowledges the British monarch as the head of the state.
Encyclopedia – Encyclopedia Britannica – Thank you.
Dominion
The status, prior to 1939, of each of the British Commonwealth countries of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, Eire, and Newfoundland.
Although there was no formal definition of dominion status,
A pronouncement by the Imperial Conference of 1926 described Great Britain and the dominions as “autonomous communities within the British Empire, equal in status, in no way subordinate one to another in any aspect of their domestic or external affairs, though united by a common allegiance to the Crown and freely associated as members of the British Commonwealth of Nations.”
The references – Dominion and sovereignty under His Majesty per
The British Empire treaty – The Indian Independence Act 1947 – raises poignant questions regarding paramountcy lapse.
Termination of His Majesty’s suzerainty over dominions and promulgation under Indian republic and vice versa for Pakistan would provide legitimacy as well as clarity on true emancipation.
Meanwhile, the status quo comparable to Hong Kong previously recognized as British colony under long-term lease and subsequent cession to China on July 1, 1997 formally ending British rule in that territory.
India and Pakistan assume autonomy on 99 year lease due to embedded technicalities implying feudalist authority in the official deeds – Transfer of Power Agreement and Indian Independence Act 1947.
These conditions are not inextricable and perhaps delineating the independent nature substituting dominion for sovereign republic befitting twenty first century paradigm would clearly define sovereignty free from external vested interest.
India – as the Indian sub-continent progenitor perceived an independent republic in national and worldview.
Contrary to the belief, the so-called largest democracy is yet to attain sovereignty under Indian republic.
Pakistan – British Raj quid pro quo through mutiny share the irony with India.
Under divide and rule imperialist strategy, India was partitioned creating mayhem with millions of lives lost in the demarcation.
Over two-century occupation that still continues in the region through proxy governments and colonial loyalists within society serving hegemonic agenda.
India and Pakistan notwithstanding former colonies across the globe identified as dominion remain members of commonwealth under British monarchy.
The extension of matter is related to Indian Citizenship Act explicitly denying mainstream population dual citizenship contradictory to foreign entities from Regality to those in position of authority granted privilege in holding multiple citizenships not barring unlimited access to India.
Such inherent anomalies lead to feudal empowerment at society’s marginalization.
It is time for India and Pakistan to rise to the occasion in reclaiming sovereignty under republic domain.
British Royalty acknowledgment accordingly relinquishing power and rights on territories stated as dominions in the official declarations would conform to nations meaningful and authentic liberation from foreign rule.
Expediting transformation in a peaceful and transparent manner would confirm sincere commitment to individual liberty.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Israel, U.S. and EU vs. Iran involving Hormuz Strait
January 6, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
The simmering tension between western powers (Israel, U.S. and E.U) and Iran leading to extensive military activities on both sides in the Persian Gulf is counter-productive with catastrophic consequences upon antagonistic engagement.
United States at Israel and neo-con behest maintaining pre-emptive war strategy is heading towards self-inflicting destructive mode although preventable at this point in time.
Furthermore, EU appeasement through compliance of U.S demands might boost military representation,
However, the entire operation would backfire on provocateurs blindside against opponents under nuclear standoff pretext.
Underestimating retaliatory capabilities and formidable powers potential overt or covert involvement to curtail protracted warfare is naiveté in the least and presumptuous at worst.
Iran nuclear power program initiated by bellicose rhetoric from Washington and allies since the beginning of twenty first century prominently exhibited during 2008 Presidential race confirmed the pre-meditated Middle East destabilization on the horizon.
The candidacies regardless vying for AIPAC and hegemony approval laid plans in unique style nonetheless converging on the common goal.
The sensational catchphrase ranging from –
‘Obliterate Iran with nuclear weapons’
“Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran” to,
Nuclear threat in “all options are on the table” – desperately pushed forward escalating Iran’s unambitious nuclear phase into future proliferation category.
Using the prototype – manufacture crisis for premise to implement policy aimed at regional dominance securing economic and strategic interest,
The lessons from wars are not heeded despite toll on life, economy and environment evident in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq…and proxy wars around the world.
Expecting different results from obsolete experiments is self-defeating indulgence at national and taxpayers detriment in dire economy.
The economic sanctions against Iran with latest imposition to prove tough stance for political scores impact Iran’s population strengthening nationalism against foreign persecution.
Not to mention the crippling economic measure fomenting anti-western sentiments in the genuine pro-western society.
Western eagerness and impatience to drive the world towards full-scale confrontation not barring nuclear exchange in the Iran conflict is extremism with serious repercussions and irreversible outcome especially for those advancing the agenda.
Contrary to the ideology – wars stimulate economy proved otherwise in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq…and military bases around the world.
The stakes are much higher for U.S, E.U. and the global economy.
Oil prices on the rise with Persian Gulf troop deployment triggering Iranian response –
Possible shut down of Hormuz strait – facilitating significant crude oil shipping worldwide is the tip of the iceberg in the brewing Mideast incursion.
U.S. and EU economic meltdown in the absence of result-oriented methods adopting aggression for deflection would exacerbate conditions with mounting debt, credit downgrade and severe austerity contributing to mainstream frustration against governments’ misplaced priority.
Israel – the catalyst in the beleaguered region applying pressure on the United States to strike Iran and U.S. procrastination challenged with Israel’s unilateral proposal isolates the U.S. ally – in defiance of international dissent against military action.
Besides, Israel as the largest U.S. monetary aid recipient irrespective of economic downturn depriving 99% average Americans normal existence could perhaps exercise restraint to alleviate debt burden on U.S. taxpayers ultimately footing the bill in the overwhelmingly opposed warfare based on mere speculation about Iran’s nuclear dilemma.
Globally – oil price increase from the Persian Gulf stalemate could adversely affect world economies – the industrialized and emerging economies in particular due to extraordinary energy consumption with the flip side necessitating the urgency on clean and natural source development.
Iran – the target in the ongoing military offense could avert the looming danger in adhering to transparency and accountability on uranium enrichment retaining non-nuclear proliferation treaty membership.
Meanwhile the U.S prolific arms trade to the region viz. Saudi Arabia estimated around $23 billion and expansive military presence in the Persian Gulf is antithesis to global citizens aspired peace and diplomacy in the politically oppressed and internationally controlled oil rich territory.
Neither United States nor EU as NATO partner can afford extravagant military pursuits in the Persian Gulf or anywhere given the declining economic reality.
Instead the western powers commitment in terminating ammunition supply including intelligence services refraining from toppling popular governments in Middle East and elsewhere would be a refreshing change ending violence in the world.
The illegal arms trade and defense industry contracts with repressive regimes have wiped out generations in the perpetual war zones and,
Western governments as democratic societies bear responsibility in troop withdrawal from around the world through legislative process diverting funds from relentless wars to domestic economy and nation building of the invaded lands.
U.S. military and NATO prolonged occupation in Middle East along with State department as well as intelligence agencies constant intervention in overseas government appointments undermine democratic system in the respective domain and subvert foreign national sovereignty.
Freedom is the natural right and free will determine political independence allowing republic governed democracy to prevail over burgeoning global supremacy.
Hormuz strait is the crucial supply route for international trade and commerce. Any disruption would be a huge economic loss to all warring factions in the current international dispute.
The leaderships are urged to resolve issues through peaceful negotiations and abandon military options.
Wishing truce among embattled nations – Israel, U.S, EU and Iran with permanent resolutions on nuclear and economic matter.
Peace to all!
Thank you.

Welcome 2012
January 1, 2012
By Padmini Arhant
New Year 2012 ushered in with cheers and spectacular fireworks around the world.
The year 2011 set the trail for significant change in politics, economics, social justice and environment.
Political restructuring is directed at leaderships’ extension of rule through self-nomination and/or oligarchy appointed against republic and national interest.
People uprising display solidarity on core issues related to economy, political rights, social equality and environmental protection.
Political and economic freedom directly linked to social justice in Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia has long been deprived under global conglomerate choice of leadership.
Revolutions protest against heads of the state serving self and foreign interest ignoring citizens plight in any form of political system.
Peaceful and non-violent assembly – the civil and constitutional right is restricted with violence besieging democracy in United States, Europe and India.
The governments in Syria, Iran, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan…in Middle East and,
Burma, China, North Korea in the Far East under military might deny civil liberties at home and occupied territory viz. Tibet.
Russia – the leaderships alternating hierarchical role claiming lack of opposition to contest in election while the popular activist held in custody is subjugating democracy.
The government intolerance to civil society or political party meaningful opposition on national issues could not be democratic and prolonging term in office would be ruling against republic will.
Such leaderships having lost public faith could ease the burden with peaceful exit from the respective position.
Regardless of civilian or military rule – governments’ failure to perform with no political commitment in improving the economy, eliminating corruption, guarantee freedom for all and cede invaded land – are due for imminent sea change.
People power peaceful and non-violent participation in 2012 until citizens’ goals are achieved is paramount to establish republic rule in domestic and foreign soil.
Injustice anywhere disrupts peace and stability everywhere.
While military industrial complex comprising defense industry dictates foreign policy,
The banking industry under Federal Reserve in collaboration with World Bank, IMF and international central banks control money supply to the world economy,
Similarly powerful industries viz. energy, health, agriculture, pharmaceutical…are involved in directing governments on energy, health, education and environment policy…among broad engagement.
The world is run by global conglomerate prioritizing mega profits from collective productivity for selective income distribution through heavily propagated globalization with warfare dominating the agenda.
Citizens across the globe as consumers, tax payers and electorate in 2012 could petition their government against illegal wars and military base draining economies in the disproportionate military budget generating severe austerity on life dependent services in struggling economies – U.S., Europe and elsewhere.
Taxpayers reserve the rights to ensure their tax dollars are invested in domestic economy and global development rather than wars claiming armed forces and innocent civilian lives across the world.
Unfortunately, taxpayers as creditors and debtors in the current economic climate drowned in foreign debts are complacent to hard earned tax revenues squandered in destructive warfare and/or stashed away in the powerful entities offshore tax havens and unlawful bank accounts.
The 1% continues to thrive at 99% expense and misery.
If tax dollars are not appropriated for nation building then citizens could legislatively remedy the prevalent anomaly.
Taxation policy – closing tax evasion loopholes together with fair taxation laws substituting existing rule –
Exempting wealthy from taxes by transferring the share to middle and lower income groups could be eliminated considering,
The lower economic strata constitute retail consumer base benefitting the broad business spectrum.
Political class reluctance in this regard would delineate them for suitable replacement in the electoral polls.
Electoral reform barring corporate and personal wealth in election campaigns,
Instead allowing public financing would deter corruption and promote level playing field for qualified candidacies to compete in the local and national elections.
Effectively political and economic fairness could be enforced via electoral and taxation overhaul in every society marking the beginning of the end of vote and tax fraud.
Economic crisis – Euro zone, U.S. debt, emerging economies domestic constraints ranging from inflation to contraction in overseas exports…are conspicuous ailments requiring potent antidote to revive economic health.
Given the magnitude of the problems – the topic is scheduled for detailed discussion later.
Environment policy – Facts presented earlier under Global Climate Change Treaty (GCCT) following COP17 Durban summit focus on the immediate goal in carbon emission mitigation to maintain sustainable temperature at 1.5°C or 350 ppm by 2020.
Individual action preceding climate talks could confirm serious commitment in the important global issue.
Social Justice – The extreme judicial bias is attention worthy.
The political establishment and privileged class granted life impunity on evidence based treason and crimes against humanity.
Juxtaposed – U.S. President recent approval on ordinary citizens apprehended as terror suspects to be refused legal representation for military trial is violation of human rights and international laws with the trajectory in abuse of power and torture justifiably condemned worldwide.
The past year – Arab Spring and Occupy global movement energized the 99% marginalized in the society.
In 2012, the global revolution quintessentially empowering the powerless would restore republic governed democracy in the world.
Happy New Year with peace, progress and prosperity to all!
Thank you.

December 31, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
The year 2011 has been eventful with earth shattering effects in politics, economics, social justice and environment.
People power emerged a formidable force in Tahrir, Pearl and Times Square spreading world over as the new wave against oligarchy run global empire.
The mainstream population on center stage demanding revolutionary changes in political, economic, judiciary, social and environmental policies valiantly braved violent crackdown in the so-called democracies and other societies abusing power to quell dissent in direct violation of human and constitutional rights asserting authoritarian rule.
From Arab Spring across Middle East to Occupy Wall Street evolving into Occupy global protest –
The developments in 2011 is a stark reminder to autocratic regimes using violence against citizens prolonging oppression and corruption…to step down from power avoiding the fate shared by Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Italy leaderships during the year.
Citizens defying authorities’deadly ammunitions in hegemony facilitated firepower chose martyrdom over capitulation in Tunisia, Egypt, Algiers, Morocco, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar…and elsewhere.
Impact now felt in Moscow, Damascus and perhaps in Beijing.
Tibetan monks self-immolation in mainland occupied territory confirms dire situation beyond endurance seeking world attention to Tibet independence struggle.
Such incident could no longer be slighted with imminent emancipation for Tibet as part of the sweeping change on the horizon.
Similarly Palestinian statehood at the United Nations derided by Israel and strong ally United States – a hypocritical stance given the identical approach in the declaration of Israeli state on May 14, 1948.
With frustration reaching tipping point from decadent policies denying political liberation, corruption free society, economic freedom and social justice,
The establishments in the respective domains are challenged to deliver promises leading governance on defense in the system without checks and balances contributing to status quo.
Europe and United States dealing with economic woes experience budget and debt crisis, declining credit rating and European contagion attributed to stagnant economy affecting global markets.
Warfare – Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, amid permanent military bases all over,
The focus is primarily on Iran with crippling economic sanctions provoking oil blockade threats followed by retaliation warnings in preparation for pre-meditated and pre-emptive full-scale confrontation possibly involving nuclear arsenal.
Meanwhile, the arms supply in Syria adapting to Libyan civil war scenario cannot be ignored in the context.
The civilian movement expedited undemocratic leaderships demise and departure poignantly marking 2011 – the revolution year in history.
On the environmental front – 2011 has been devastating with earthquake in New Zealand and Turkey,
Japan earthquake and Tsunami resulting in nuclear disaster,
Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines bracing ravaging floods and
India hit with cyclone…confirms global warming effects on nature.
Notwithstanding catastrophic environmental damages exacerbating economic liabilities for nations – victims of the worst natural calamity.
Trials and tribulations provide opportunity for review and reform at individual discretion.
Procrastination on strong environmental policy would decelerate economic growth with current rapid resource depletion endangering life.
Evidently 2011 recognized as the year of significant transformations terminating destructive courses responsible for human suffering –
Setting precedence for universal change redeeming humanity from degradation.
The world bids farewell to 2011 and,
Welcomes 2012 – ushering in new era with peace, progress and prosperity for all.
Happy New Year and Peace to all!

India – Anti-Corruption Law and No Confidence Vote Motion
December 29, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
The UPA derailment of Parliamentary process in the upper house i.e. Rajya Sabha on Jan Lokpal bill following deliberation and opposition parties amendments to strengthen the long awaited anti-corruption legislation is condemnable prompting winter session extension for ruling on monumental national issue concerning 1.2 billion lives.
In the live broadcast of the important legislative discourse,
The UPA ally RJD members at Congress Party Chief behest filibustering the bill passage and,
Subsequently Congress Party Ministers viz. Telecommunication Minister Kapil Sibal abrupt disruption declaring winter session conclusion just prior to ruling on Jan Lokpal confirms UPA trepidation on effective Jan Lokpal to eradicate corruption epidemic originating from political power.
UPA ministers and RJD performance overriding Parliamentary rule and Chair authority in direct violation of Parliamentary procedure are impeachable.
The unprecedented event evolving into chaos beyond reproach undermines national sovereignty.
Evidently UPA resistance towards Jan Lokpal in the past eighteen months claiming innocent life, imprisonment of peaceful and non-violent activists against corruption and last but not the least –
The autocratic imposition of Lokpal bill in Loksabha i.e. the lower house rejecting oppositions and civil society amendment requirements,
Not barring submissions from UPA significant allies – providing life support to remain in power is contradictory to Parliamentary protocol,
Besides exhibiting disdain and utter disregard for electorates’ representation in Parliament.
Parliament sanctity subjected to assault with UPA and RJD leaderships unruly conduct clearly demonstrates the destructive course to prevent Jan Lokpal emergence as the bastion to curtail corruption in the society.
The opposition’ account of Rajya Sabha – the upper house discussion on corruption bill transformed into mayhem solidifies unanimous disappointment and grave concern for Indian democracy.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh slighting the major opposition leader Arun Jaitley’s request to intervene in Parliament session revival for ruling is suggestive of UPA 2 pre-determined position to bury Jan Lokpal bill.
Based on congress led UPA government undemocratic policies since Jan Lokpal inception until now,
The opposition leaders from all parties as democratically elected officials are urged to reconvene Rajya Sabha and stand united in passing formidable Jan Lokpal incorporating civil society proposals and various relevant amendments from different factions in Parliament aimed at strengthening the bill –
Contributing to exemplary moral and ethical institution in Jan Lokpal to curb burgeoning corruption.
UPA government under Congress authority being a minority in Rajya Sabha dictating terms is unconstitutional and,
Instead obligatory to honor the majority approved bill addressing public requirements in totality.
Any procrastination would clarify Congress Party sincerity or the lack thereof in uprooting corruption within and outside political domain.
Failure to cooperate in Parliamentary proceedings for ruling on Jan Lokpal would lead to oppositions’ necessary actions –
Moving forward with amended Jan Lokpal in Rajya Sabha.
Motion for no confidence vote against Congress Party controlled UPA.
Parliamentary inquiry against legislators Sonia Gandhi, P.Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Veerappa Molly, Lalu Prasad, MoS Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narayanasamy and affiliates implicated in myriad national scandals.
Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh holding the highest position in administration is constitutionally bound to deliver the pledge defending republic and national interest over internal or external influence.
UPA under Congress Party has lost credibility and integrity to continue in power.
The opportunity for UPA 2 damage control is available in accepting responsibility with humility and abiding by the constitutional law enacting Jan Lokpal bill per Parliamentary propriety.
Hopefully rationality would prevail among Congress Party leaderships to relinquish Jan Lokpal demolition through misguided intrusion in Parliamentary affairs.
The public expectation is on BJP and other oppositions to prove reliability in passing robust Jan Lokpal bill this winter session and restore republic governed democracy.
In anticipation of successful Jan Lokpal legislation, the nation as the largest democracy awaits Parliament resumption to complete voting on revised Jan Lokpal bill in Rajya Sabha.
Jai Bharat!
Peace to all!
Thank you.

India – UPA Passed Lokpal Bill
December 29, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
The government Lokpal bill passed in the lower house i.e. Loksabha without general consensus is an artful manipulation defending those at the political helm from accountability.
After declining opposition amendments and civil society submission on core issues directly targeting the origin that could have yielded a robust and functional bill,
The UPA government obliged Congress President Sonia Gandhi dictum tactfully aimed at circumventing probe against ruling administration past, present and future escapades.
Jan Lokpal was a public request to the ruling power and elected representatives to address corruption culture considering acute moral degradation exacerbated with humility deficiency prevalent in the political system depicting –
The seed bears the fruit of the kind.
The government pressure through media adapting to state broadcast mode on Team Anna and anyone opposing legislation designed to serve personal interest is a threat to democracy.
Airtime squandered in mockery and relentless attacks against legitimate opposition on government strategies affecting billion lives is a disservice to mass communication taking journalism to the lowest ebb.
Media role in democracy is crucial in representing people voice unlike the contemporary setting with political parties media ownership serving as propaganda machinery to quell dissent against detrimental policy and legislation.
Political leaderships and party proprietary rights over media is convenient to silence majority.
Not to mention the dangerous trend subverting truth and weakening democracy.
The undemocratic precedence attributed to enormous illegal wealth at disposal invested in broadcast network and/or forge alliance with corporate run media for mass deception and eternal terms in office.
Nonetheless, the ongoing debate in the upper house viz. Rajya Sabha analyzing the weak pro-government Lokpal bill for modification with recommended core issues enumerated earlier premised on –
None are above the law would be a step in the positive direction.
Parliamentary sessions are redundant without reaching agreement on meaningful legislation with revolutionary changes required for effective corruption eradication.
Unfortunately, with the lack of political will and serious commitment the much-anticipated legislation becoming law continues to remain contentious facilitating partisan politics at public expense.
The unwillingness to act or lack luster performance in enacting important legislation would unequivocally backfire for political parties in the forthcoming state assembly polls and later during national election.
Underestimating electorate awareness and mounting frustration over pervasive corruption is a political gamble with irreversible course in the sweeping change on the horizon.
Jan Lokpal blockade is impunity to political and privileged class in crimes against society.
Passing Jan Lokpal with relevant measures adopted to deter rather than promote corruption is every elected official’s constitutional responsibility and Parliamentary duty regardless of political hierarchy.
Meanwhile, the ruling power and oppositions alike candid disclosure and surrender of assets acquired through misuse of power and illicit means is paramount to exemplify political class dedication to anti-corruption.
Failure to comply requirement that otherwise incumbent upon ordinary citizens with serious repercussions would clarify democracy legitimacy.
Ending corruption tradition along with secrecy era among the powerful is the cornerstone in the roadmap for corruption free India.
In the absence of these fundamentals the pursuit for economic and social development would be class oriented in the widening gap between the haves and have-nots,
Notwithstanding the adverse effects on national credibility and image.
Citizens’ initiative and activism across the spectrum is the key to liberation from corruption.
India against corruption under Shri Anna Hazare leadership and team efforts are commendable.
The crusade against corruption is primarily responsible for Jan Lokpal current discussion in Parliament.
India against corruption – national movement with Team Anna guidance epitomizes patriotism reflected in the selfless devotion and endurance of negative campaigns against them to derail the prospects of strong anti-corruption law.
The Parliamentarians have unique opportunity to redefine politics demonstrating ethical efficacy in the overwhelming endorsement of Jan Lokpal protecting nation at large against corruption.
Good Luck to Jan Lokpal approval and implementation this winter session!
Jai Bharat!
Peace to all!
Thank you.

India – Anti-Corruption Rally
December 27, 2011
By Padmini Arhant
Anti-corruption rally began in Mumbai and New Delhi in protest against government introduced corruption bill.
Shri Anna Hazare is on three-day fasting expressing dissent over government Lokpal bill.
Considering the report that Shri Anna Hazare is unwell and prescribed antibiotics for quick recovery,
Shri Anna Hazare is kindly requested to skip fasting and instead observe silence (Maun Vrath) in continuation of commitment towards Jan Lokpal bill.
Shri Anna Hazare’s health and well being is vital in every aspect.
The Gandhian crusade against corruption nationally empowers the voiceless and defenseless in civil society.
The government Lokpal bill currently passed to protect Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi and Home Minister P. Chidambaram implicated on numerous corruption scandals is worthy of condemnation.
Specifically, the clause defending Members of Parliament right to continue as Cabinet Ministers and lawmakers despite judicial trials against them on corruption charges is an affirmation for the status quo.
Misleading the nation in the direction in defiance of morality and ethics affecting national credibility is a kamikaze action with serious repercussions noted in the latest developments across the Middle East and Italy.
Not to mention the inevitable electoral backlash in the forthcoming state assembly and national election.
The republic version seeks the following legitimate proposals:
Jan Lokpal autonomy rather than government appointed Lokpal committee to prevent conflict of interest.
CBI brought under Jan Lokpal Ambit for investigation and due process to curb corruption across the spectrum.
The current arrangement with incumbents control over CBI is unanimously admitted among ruling and opposition members in Parliament as gross misuse of power.
Citizens charter and lower bureaucracy under Jan Lokpal,
Besides other relevant inclusions related to Prime Minister and corporations laid by IAC for effective anti-corruption law.
Nationwide – State Lokayukta implementation without procrastination would enormously ease the marginalized demography’s painful experience in daily life.
Arriving at general consensus is possible provided members of Parliament regardless of political differences assume responsibility to serve in public and national interest by passing Jan Lokpal bill to eliminate corruption.
Winning elections – the political parties primary goal is not achievable unless the electorate plight is sincerely acknowledged beginning with crippling corruption and basic human needs such as safe drinking water, solar power and other renewable energy sourced electricity, clean environment and repaired roads are delivered to the frustrated vast majority.
India against corruption is corruption victims’ generated movement represented by Shri Anna Hazare and dedicated team members having endured series of litmus tests conducted to deter Jan Lokpal emergence.
The success of Jan Lokpal lies with every citizen in India against corruption – the epidemic eroding national resources and taxpayers hard earned savings held in offshore tax havens and illegal bank accounts.
People tired of prevalent corruption and bribery have a unique opportunity to join Shri Anna Hazare in Mumbai and every corner of the country in enacting strong meaningful Jan Lokpal bill.
Youth in India have a greater responsibility as emerging and future leaders in energizing the nation and accelerate momentum on monumental national legislation.
Although Shri Anna Hazare leadership is focused and determined to prevail,
Citizens’ cooperation and participation is paramount to demonstrate against inherently flawed system upheld by political establishment and elitist allies in the society.
Ending corruption culture espousing bribery on basic to advanced services,
Double standards maintained in transparency and accountability with political class and surrogates granted life impunity from inquiry and judicial proceedings.
Meanwhile average citizens subjected to rigorous and undemocratic scrutiny.
Furthermore, it is important to realize the youth, middle class and lower income bear the tax burden attributed to various scandals costing national exchequer trillions of dollars that essentially belongs to the republic.
Freedom from corruption is a second independent struggle concerning all those affected by fraudulent practice.
Zero tolerance to corruption through peaceful and non-violent assembly urging political leaderships in the ruling and opposition to pass Jan Lokpal bill is an immediate priority.
The local population dealing with routine corruption cannot afford any delay notwithstanding adverse effects from weak Lokpal bill.
Please rise to the occasion and support Jan Lokpal rally organized by India against corruption under Shri Anna Hazare and team in Mumbai and across the nation.
It is not the time for complacency rather formidable coalescence urgently required to take back India and restore republic governed democracy.
Once again, Shri Anna Hazare switching to Maun Vrath and resuming food intake for health reasons would benefit the honorable leader and the nation at large.
Good Luck to Jan Lokpal legislation becoming the national law!
Peace to all!
Thank you.
