Italy – Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Steps Down from Office

November 13, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi resigns after no confidence vote against his political party in the parliament and financial markets reaction to Italy’s economic status considering direct impact on seventeen members euro zone as well as Europe and U.S. economy.

The former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi assumed power in 1994 becoming the longest serving premier in recent times leading Italian economy on the brink of collapse.

Italy’s national debt at euro 1.9 trillion ($2.6 trillion) – twice as much the combined total of Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain is the genuine cause for trepidation in the economic and political circle.

Ex-Premier Berlusconi tenure specifically the final term preoccupied in battling corruption charges and personal scandals deflected attention from economic and political issues resulting in the loss of mid-term elections this year.

Despite the writing on the wall, the then Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi remained defiant in accepting reality without the ability to govern the third largest economy in Europe effectively and avert the contagion factor on Italian shores.

Italy is at the crossroads with unique opportunity to not only resolve the immediate economic crisis but also demonstrate adeptness as a credible and viable euro zone partner.

Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and citizens’ choice – former European commissioner Mario Monti as the interim successor to lead the government at the critical juncture is sagacious given the nominee’s credentials and economics background suitable to address the existing challenges expediting anticipated revival.

The general election scheduled in early 2012 is indicative of democratic process taking precedence following the end of Berlusconi era.

Euro zone expectation on economic reforms from members struggling with credit default prevention is a balancing act that requires prudence in national budget reflecting revenue and austerity measures aimed at economic growth and debt containment.

EU recommendation to extend retirement age beginning 2026 might provide tax generated income.

However, the strategy could affect youth employment especially the fresh graduates and those in middle management aspiring executive and senior positions in service and manufacturing sector.

Ideally in full employment conditions, increasing retirement age could boost productivity yielding proportionate earnings necessitating inflation control at the same time.

The status quo with high unemployment in sluggish economy on the verge of recession essentially dependent on job creation and entrepreneurial incentives to youth labor force often frustrated due to lack of jobs and environment to hone newly acquired skills in the competitive labor market.

This situation has trickle down effect on youth population seeking higher education costing more in the absence of adequate educational funding exacerbated by long search to secure jobs – common experience shared by occupy protestors all over.

Job market flexibility to capitalize diversity in youth talent facilitating niche marketing could ease the burden on taxpayers across the spectrum.

Quest for advanced education and vocational training would continue to rise upon job availability for different calibre.

Hence economic policy with extensive and innovative job programs would gain public support besides contributing to national output and deficit reduction.

Private investments and government divestment from military warfare for economic development could stimulate domestic jobs stabilizing bond market for capital arrangement to meet government commitments.

Italy is evidently rejoicing the much awaited political outcome and now preparing to rescue the nation and euro zone from economic meltdown.

The daunting tasks ahead require unified effort and political will from all sides to rebuild Italy’s economy.

The People of Freedom, Lega Nord or the Northern League in particular along with Democratic Party and alliances are urged to extend co-operation to Italian premier Mario Monti in surviving economic turbulence faced by the great nation – Italy and European Union.

Congratulations and Good Luck! To Prime Minister Mario Monti, President Giorgio Napolitano, Council of Ministers, Parliament members and the citizens of Italy for a new chapter in political history.

Best Wishes to Italy and euro zone for swift economic recovery.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

India – Tamil Nadu Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant Standoff

November 11, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Nuclear power plant Koodankulam in Tirunelveli district of southern state Tamil Nadu, India is currently faced with confrontation between people and government.

Local residents comprising fishermen and other traders along with families living near the site do not approve the nuclear power station and were opposed to the project since inception.

Thorough review of both positions including nuclear technology repercussions could perhaps shed light on core issues with viable alternatives concluding 25 years old citizens’ protest against nuclear option.

In the People v. Government nuclear standoff,

The population concern is largely related to –

Nuclear waste management,

Reservoir contamination,

Radiation exposure,

Nuclear plant design and operational expertise especially during emergency shutdown,

Government preparedness to deal with nuclear accidents such as –

Nuclear reactor malfunction in Chernobyl, Ukraine (Former USSR) in 1986

Fukushima Daichi disaster, Japan in March 2011

Upon investigation in June 2011, radioactive tritium leaks detected in nearly three quarters of all nuclear plants in the United States.

Close observation show more than half of them have concentration level beyond federal drinking water limit although main distribution source not yet affected with the exception of leaks in three plants having contaminated nearby drinking wells for home supply.

Nuclear waste processing plant explosion at Marcoule in Chusclan France on September 12, 2011 with one fatality and four workers severely injured.

Ammonia leaks from San Onofre Power Plant in Southern California, USA on November 1, 2011.

Public grievances are factual and legitimate considering industrialized nations’ experiences with nuclear power plant mishaps and systemic failure.

Despite stringent control and mechanism in place to address predictable and untoward circumstances, the developed nations are unable to guarantee risk free functionality.

Further, citizens’ conviction on industrial accidents is also attributed to government and private sector ineptness combined with apathy witnessed in Union Carbide gas leaks in Bhopal, India and,

The Gulf Coast BP oil spill in the United States last year – resulting in deaths and destruction of life leaving victims mere collateral damages in the worst disasters due to human negligence.

Meanwhile European nations – Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland are renouncing nuclear power and shutting down reactors entirely for a safer, cleaner and healthier environment.

Indian government stance on Koodankulam is a matter of huge investment estimated at US $3 billion (Rs. 13,615 Crores) with total production capacity 2GW electric power becoming the largest nuclear power complex in the nation allowing additional capability for 2 more reactors over ten years.

The bilateral agreements with Russia for third generation reactors and United States to import advanced uranium is another factor in government resistance to citizens’ request on nuclear projects termination.

Government moving forward through powerful advocates to support nuclear power plants nationwide without heeding citizens’ thoughts is exacerbating the contentious debate.

Apart from Koodankulam,

The other sites – Kalpakkam, Jaitapur, Kaiga, Rawatbhata, Kakrapar are planned for this purpose with some in existence and others under construction.

The government emissaries as experts in the nuclear field presenting qualified opinion strictly related to plant safety features only address the limited technical aspects of the vast nuclear issue.

Nuclear concept in the contemporary era is burgeoning security threat to mankind and environment at large proliferating nuclear status under nuclear power pretext regardless of abundant energy availability.

Besides, prevalent discord in honoring NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) specifically by nuclear states viz. United States, Israel, India and Pakistan – the prominent non- NPT members with targeted adversaries and maintaining fragile neighbor relations respectively create impediments for universal treaty on nuclear disarmament.

United States in an effort to avert proliferation contrarily facilitate nuclear arsenal possession in the U.S. – NATO nuclear weapons sharing policy through deployment of U.S. manufactured nuclear weapons in NATO states – Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Turkey.

The consignment dispatch and storage is in clear violation of NPT Article 1 and II eliminating impetus for nuclear and non-nuclear members cooperation.

Recognition and acknowledgment of individual responsibility is imperative to absolve the world of nuclear menace – the premise for protracted warfare at irreversible loss of human lives.

Notwithstanding financial burden in waging wars on trillion dollars deficit budget i.e. borrowed money escalating debts and economy to the brink of collapse.

Last but not the least endangering planet sustenance – the only habitat for life.

Shifting focus to solutions on India and global energy demand – the concerted action to harness renewable energy – solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, biofuel, geothermal etc. could adequately meet humanity’s energy requirements,

Alongside prohibiting arms race and wars in quest for oil – primary contributor to economic and political turmoil.

The nuclear power plant in Koodankulam and elsewhere could effectively be converted into solar, biodiesel and biofuel generator becoming the powerhouse for the nation promoting business and employment opportunities at home.

Vegetation from land cultivation for substantial biodiesel, biofuel output maximizing the present use of cow dung, oil yielding plants e.g. Jatropha plant seeds readily usable after extraction without refining process among diverse choices deserve investments to resolve energy crisis.

Modernizing mass transit system to suit commuter convenience could considerably reduce energy consumption.

Simultaneously adjusting urban lifestyle with energy saving appliances and customized routine would cutback energy expenditure.

Indian leaderships in favor of global consensus on arms embargo and nuclear non-proliferation launching ambitious nuclear power programs based on the ‘responsible’ nuclear state perception foment nuclear competitiveness in the region.

Not to mention the conflict of interest in the two dimensional nuclear goals.

Governments around the world increasingly ignoring citizens’ voices misusing people granted power to serve all but the electorate needs.

Electoral mandate is to prioritize immediate and life dependent challenges rather than executing extemporaneous policies evidently detrimental in reality.

The government leaderships and eminent experts are urged to abandon nuclear power for greater good on a broad perspective and,

Change course in energy pursuits adopting pragmatic and peaceful approach to transportation in the high-speed technology age.

Hopefully rationality would prevail in the anti-nuclear settlement with strong political will to accept facts and alleviate citizens’ plight ending the months long non-violent dissent.

Good Luck! To residents and activists in Koodankulam, Jaitapur, Kaiga…and other nuclear sites in the commitment to nuclear free zone.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

World Overview – Global Revolution

November 5, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Across the globe from Tahrir, Pearl to Times Square – the resonating message from the citizens is freedom.

Freedom from political oppression, economic depression, environmental degradation and social injustice ending the era of dominance for sovereignty with new age republic rule is the popular demand.

Politics, economics and judiciary control citizens’ destiny.

The political systems are set up to serve self and special interests than national service.

Campaign promises remain rhetoric for election and re-election purpose.

However, campaign financiers agenda supersedes citizens’ requirements such as jobs, health care, education, housing, and clean environment.

Political leaderships elected to address public needs use mandate to deprive human rights, equal opportunity and social justice.

At the national level, governance is weakened by political partisanship and corruption at the center stage trickling down to the bottom.

While defense expenditure in multidimensional warfare including widespread air base and army cantonments is the major debt contributor for global economy,

Not to mention the human and environment toll from perennial violence.

People concerns are slighted with inaction or exacerbated through extreme austerity directed at survival programs like social security, Medicare, Medicaid and women’s health, educational funding…in the attempt to deficit reduction.

There is an urgent need for global consensus on arms embargo and nuclear disarmament accelerating the bilateral agreements to universal treaty.

Middle East uprising is prolonged at enormous stake on human lives predominantly due to industrialized and developing nations defense industry i.e. the military industrial complex weapons supply to the oppressed nations fomenting regional volatility.

Palestinian statehood with full UN membership rejected by Israel and the United States with a veto threat at UNSC criticizing the move as unilateralism especially after U.S. enthusiastic vote on Israeli statehood establishment at the United Nations in 1947.

Palestinian land West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem is besieged with U.S. authorized Israeli troops at the controversial check posts and other parts of the meager area.

Similar strategy in Africa trigger ravaging civil wars denying peace for profitability aimed at disrupting normal existence with children recruited to fight in the combat zone.

Latin America is also mired with violence facilitated by guns sales and ammunitions influx from the United States given the proximity as witnessed in Mexico drug war having stalled the economy and enforced survival in fear.

AsiaKorean PeninsulaThe peace accord between North and South Korea including the call for unified Korea is discarded with provocative drills on the Yellow Sea to continue arms deal with U.S. partner South Korea.

Meanwhile economic sanctions against North Korea – the global powers’ standard policy against nations in the enemy category isolate the globalists for aggravated assault on the population enduring persecution within and outside the country.

ChinaArms exchange for oil with Sudan and rest of Africa led to ongoing genocide eliminating the possibility for peace.

Indian Sub ContinentIndia under foreign power maintain overwhelming troops deployment in Jammu and Kashmir Valley not excluding North eastern India ignoring public request to enable peace without military presence.

Indian government cooperation with Sri Lankan regime headed by President and Military commander Mahinda Rajapaksha in the execution of men, women and children representing Indian origin Tamils transformed the marginalized territory into killing fields reminiscent to ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Within India, rallies against black money and corruption curtailed with violent crackdown resulting in the death of a peaceful participant Rajbala and several injured in the absence of any investigation quest from media or judiciary.

Indian authority excess force was also demonstrated in leaders arrests to suspend peaceful assembly.

PakistanThe global powers designated terror haven is the focal point to stir tensions in the sub-continent between nuclear neighbors generating constant need to replenish stockpiles from United States, China, Russia, France and Great Britain – the competitive arms suppliers to the beleaguered states.

Additionally Pakistan embroiled in terrorism on home soil is confronted with constant drone attacks from the supposed ally United States in the so-called war on terror.

Simultaneously key officials from Pakistan military and intelligence agency ISI on MIC (military industrial complex) payroll engage in derailing political stability and peace in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.

Once again necessitating arms race not only among three nations but also spreading into Central Asia with Afghanistan as the strategic location in the brewing pre-emptive war against Iran possibly with dangerous nuclear retaliation.

Notwithstanding the convenience to monitor the cold war nemesis Russia from Afghanistan.

New millennium warfare is diversified viz. conventional war with troops on the ground in Afghanistan, Iraq and Northwestern Pakistan sprawling into Central Asia.

Robot war in the unmanned drone attacks on Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

In other fronts, currency war against China, drug war across the border with Mexico spilling over to surrounding nations is preventable at the source upon mutual recognition to implement appropriate measures on both sides.

By and large, the powerful and developing nations’ defense industry global installations have depleted resources, burdened economies with debts and wiped out generations creating a vacuum in the society for senior citizens, baby boomers and youngest members bereft of providers during the vulnerable phase in life.

Civil society movement all over Please protest against war and ask for troop withdrawal from every frontier ending illegal occupation and invasion of foreign land.

Independence for Palestine, Egypt, Algiers, Morocco, Bahrain, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tibet, Burma, North Korea…to name a few among several nations.

Emancipation also required elsewhere to establish republic governed democracy.

Globalists strategyPuppet leaderships appointment through self-intrusion or indirect backing along with chosen local media as eager appeasers to sabotage peace and economic growth sustainability world over.

Mayhem is regarded lucrative for promoting prolific arms trade with wars premised on only available option to resolve manufactured crises – economic recovery in particular.

Alarmingly the war legacy in the present is intertwined with nuclear arsenal.

Aggression and assertive overtures for complete access to global resources at life detriment is the norm irrespective of policy failure.

Economics Corporations financing election campaign is impediment for people voices in the legislative process.

Public financing with election expenses cap restricting personal attacks and focus on policies related to national and international issues would be a refreshing change conforming to civilized society.

Corporate media and air power at the political establishment disposal is abused for false propaganda and truth subversion undermining democracy.

Special interests drafted legislation swiftly passed compared with bills concerning average citizens in dire state delineating corporation influence over politics.

Close ties between corporations and politics for exclusive favors is the bedrock of corruption leading to constitution violation and national subjugation.

Corporations confined to jobs oriented economic growth rather than nation governance would yield anticipated output in economy and political functionality.

There are at least 802 lobbyists from powerful industries to negotiate with 436 House members and 100 Senators in the U.S. Congress drowning citizens cry in the current corporations run political environment.

Taxpayers funded government subsidies and bailouts in billions of dollars to energy and finance sector respectively is invested in lobbying directing legislation to suit industry agenda i.e. banks deregulation and environmental damage from drilling, mining and nuclear sites.

Similarly the desperately required revenues through tax reform closing tax evasion loopholes to recover national income stashed away in tax havens by wealthy corporations and individuals successfully thwarted with money power otherwise bribery.

Occupy Wall Street and alike across United States and the rest of the world need to restore power to the people beginning with political leaderships removal either through recall or upon term completion in the election to convey a strong message to the infiltrating elements.

Corporations owned media in cohort with politics is an imminent threat to democracy.

Media reform and public boycott of networks indulging in state broadcast adaptation could deter bias and myth propagation to exemplify consumer power and viewer discernment.

Judiciary: Legislative, Executive and Judiciary branch comprise the governing body in active democracy.

Judiciary framework encompasses constitutional law and civil rights preserving democratic values with checks and balances on entities both elected as well as non-elected officials in matter related to state governance and national interest.

Corporations and political powers ability to sway decisions in high profile legal quagmire debilitates democracy affecting judiciary credibility,

Besides diminishing constitutional power of the Supreme Court – the bastion for common man and nation at large to obtain justice.

Department of Justice and Investigation bureau under executive branch or incumbent administration increasingly misused in –

Obstruction of justice, intimidation, selective investigation and prosecution of whistle-blowers.

Department of Justice and Investigation Bureau would be legitimate and productive independent of the executive or administrative branch terminating political authority’s deflection following exposure.

Presidential power exercised in extrajudicial executions.

Continuation of rendition, indefinite detention of suspects without due process,

Habeas corpus denial,

In the Indian sub-continent those held in police and intelligence custody are subjected to ‘encounter’ parallel treatment to torture, electric shock…and variable techniques routinely carried out on prisoners throughout the world.

Concurrently impunity granted to political class and privileged members in the society on crimes against humanity and national wealth embezzlement.

The irony being those accountable for treason and equivalent compromising national image authorize illegal wiretapping, 24/7 surveillance distorting information to distract public from political reality – unscrupulous practices under the guise of democracy.

Police rough handling with firearms to disperse Occupy Wall Street inspired peaceful demonstrations in different parts of United States is disturbing and deeply regrettable.

Social Injustice: Poor and powerless often bear the brunt of discriminatory system with several thousands serving time for the non-verifiable crimes.

On the contrary, chief protagonists and beneficiaries in national scams are free utilizing political clout and economic power in defying judicial probe and accountability to taxpayers in the country.

Public awareness accompanied with national and global revolution to reinstate republic rule with democratic principles happening now through Arab Spring, Occupy Wall Street, anti-corruption rally gaining momentum would expedite mission accomplishment.

Solidarity, non-violence and peaceful movement without interruption to public or private operations are the key to success in realizing hope and changing status quo.

Food for thought people hold the power as audience, consumers, taxpayers and most importantly electorate in any society.

People power united could roll boulder downhill clearing the roadblocks to humanitarian peace, progress and prosperity.

Good Luck and Best Wishes! To civil society en masse for a glorious victory in republic rule revival.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

East Africa and Refugee Crisis – UNICEF USA and UNHCR SOS Call

November 2, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

An estimated 320,000 malnourished children in East Africa are on the brink of immediate death.

Their lives could be saved through life saving assistance such as food, clean drinking water and emergency medical supplies provided by UNICEF USA.

Transportation costs to Kenya apart from the necessary aid cannot be met in the absence of worldwide donations.

Similarly UNHCR ( United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) plea to address the burgeoning refugee situation from across the globe deserves equal attention and response.

Please extend your generosity towards the humanitarian challenge and rescue the children in East Africa and elsewhere from the crisis.

Considering the plight magnitude, the humanitarian relief could not be effective without global support.

Please send your contributions by visiting www.UNRefugees.org and www.unicefusa.org

Your kindness in the hour of need is greatly appreciated.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

United States – Protecting Workers and Women’s Right

October 29, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Citizens across the nation are requested to extend support on two issues:

1. Wisconsin State – Recall Governor Scott Walker

Citizens Grievance Since assuming office Governor Scott Walker has targeted workers, introduced undemocratic Voter ID and dedicated to corporate donors agenda.

Public dissent in the state was witnessed throughout the year and the decisive response is to recall Governor Scott Walker for the remaining years expected to exacerbate the electorate plight.

Wisconsin voters are urged to rally behind the progressive movement engaged in Governor Scott Walker recall.

Please reach out to ‘Progressives United’ in the State of Wisconsin and defend republic rule with democratic values intact.

2. Congressional House Republican Members’ Misplaced Priority

Honorable Republican members pledged ‘Jobs for All’ on the campaign trail in 2010.

While jobs bill impending action, legislation restricting women’s health care passed this month clarifies the regrettable congressional discretion on citizens’ requirements.

There is an urgent need for female members and families to defend women’s right to decision on their health.

Please call your representatives in the U.S. House and Senate to reverse course by protecting Medicare, Medicaid and funding for women’s health.

Your solidarity will guarantee victory against powerful industry backed political leaderships and the erroneous legislation hurting the vast and vulnerable majority.

Life threatening laws undermining equal opportunity deserves mass attention and necessary intervention to establish effective governance.

Good Luck! to Wisconsin electorates in the Governor Recall and the rest of the nation on restoring women’s health.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

National and International Crises Resolutions

October 27, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Participation in international summit, forum and problem solving would be meaningful upon ideas and solutions presented after rigorous thoughtfulness reflecting clarity and objectivity viewed in totality serving the greater good, rather than through the prism of slight and spite depreciating the purpose to prolong the status quo.

The hypocritical stance on abstinence vilified while the serious resolutions on numerous issues differed or discarded despite urgent action required to end immediate and decades old crises defines the contemporary political rudiments to uphold counterproductive policies in an effort to declare the position of authority.

Instead of accepting responsibility in the reluctance to move forward on statehood, legislation, corruption and myriad challenges confronting the global society predominantly due to lack of political will combined with polarizing measures entrenched in self-interest,

The scapegoat tactics to evade accountability is detrimental for political survival considering the polarity in maintaining power status but declining the consequences of inaction or inadequate remedies to manufactured crises.

Selective response to human plight exacerbates suffering raising credibility factor on global decision-making process.

Prioritization of one against another pronounces the differential treatment contradictory to economic aspirations in sustaining globalization.

Political, economic and social inequality anywhere is deterrent to long lasting progress elsewhere.

Global society preparedness to overcome calamity in any front is largely dependent on collective involvement with empathy exemplified in result-oriented commitments benefitting all.

Steady economy, safe environment and global peace are fundamental for co-existence in harmony.

United States – Tax reform, electoral reform, jobs bill, and Defense expenditure cuts are few of the many impending tasks requiring attention.

International Apart from European debt crisis – other significant matter are:

Palestinian statehood,

Extending unanimous support for oppressed and invaded nations’ independence,

United Nations Security Council temporary and permanent membership expansion,

Global WarmingKyoto Treaty ratification and implementing COP16 agreement,

IndiaAnti-corruption law – Passing Jan Lokpal bill

Independent inquiry and prosecution in the corruption scandals not excluding black money hoarding and national wealth embezzlements holding –

None above the law.

Concluding communal conflict  – Telangana in India and,

Confrontation with Maoists through peaceful dialogue and viable settlements,

Ending unpopular policy viz. AFSPA (Armed Forces with Special Power Act) obstructing peace in Jammu and Kashmir valley.

Government honoring public plea to shut down nuclear power plant protecting republic interest over foreign power and nuclear industry profit.

Perhaps addressing the outlined economic, political, social and environmental woes could alleviate the burden on the population at large,

Besides utilizing time and resources constructively in the austerity era to expedite the inevitable change premised on universal freedom and prosperity.

Hopefully political and economic leaderships would deliver the anticipated redress to all citizens in dire state.

It could begin with transcending partisanship in addition to profitability aimed at fair income distribution across the society.

Meanwhile, civil society movements like Occupy Wall Street, Anti-Corruption campaigns, Human right activists and environmentalists crusade to restore life and sovereignty deserves multilateral galvanization.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!  To People Power in the targeted goals.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

India – Andhra Pradesh Telangana Statehood

October 25, 2011

By Padmini Arhant

Andhra Pradesh the southern state in India is confronted with decades old internal partition discord emanating from the majority marginalized in the economic development and political representation at the state and national level.

Telanganaone of the three major regions in Andhra Pradesh with Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema constituting the remaining territories struggle for statehood largely due to exploitation from disproportionate resource distribution despite being the primary contributor to State GDP and urban modernization.

While the minority occupied rural and metropolitan areas are adequately funded and maintained in every aspect i.e. good schools and university, housing, clean water supply, electricity and other basic to advance requirements for comfortable living,

Telangana plight is evident in the neglected districts prompting secession demand from within the state.

The stark contrast in milestones reached thus far since independence cannot be ignored reflecting political bias and inequality at the state assembly, province and local council.

Telangana population have immensely suffered with disenfranchised youth and economically deprived farmers committing suicide as a result of state and central government abandonment.

Andhra Pradesh has long been governed by the minority led Congress Party arguably least interested in Telangana strife.

Meanwhile, the Congress Party at the center preoccupied in evading judicial probe and maneuvering investigations on corruption scandals have procrastinated for political reasons exacerbating the communal conflict in the state.

The declining status quo is attributed to central government indecisiveness in addressing Telangana citizens’ grievances conveyed through relentless public protests in the state and national capital without any affirmative response.

Telangana activists separate statehood justification based on the ordeal until now deserves empathy on humanitarian standpoint.

However, splitting the state with inherent complexities could lead to serious ramifications considering Telangana economic advantage from natural endowments deprives the residual state with less survival means for peaceful coexistence.

The disparity could create tension across the border with respective governments focused on settling disputes undermining effective governance.

Contentious issues causing potential problems in the short and long term are:

State tributaries viz. Krishna and Godavari rivers originating from Telangana and,

Capital Hyderabad renowned for cultural heritage depicting then Mughal empire and High Tech City now are poignant in the demarcation possibly creating prolonged disagreement.

As the advanced metropolis in the country – Hyderabad revenue and job prospects could be the focal point in the division with the dilemma of shared capital or,

Alternatively relinquish the city to Telangana.

Additionally several issues related to separation are likely to promote violence that could otherwise be avoided to protect life and state security.

Telangana leaderships seeking statehood for communal progress citing Chattisgarh and Jharkhand in eastern India need to reevaluate the pros and cons on the concept of  –

Divided one fails but united one wins against the challenges confronting all.

Consolidated efforts and diverse talent strengthens core values yet retaining identity for character uniqueness in pursuit of common goals.

Telangana people have endured the state and central authorities’ willful negligence in improving living conditions and equal opportunity for the significant members in the society.

The solution lies in altering the status quo with appropriate adjustments for desirable outcome i.e. Telangana community uplifted in multiple facets starting from political rights facilitating economic and social privileges similar to other groups across the spectrum.

Isometric standards would diminish the prevalent anomalies preparing the disadvantaged demography to succeed in personal endeavor.

Henceforth, the Congress Party headed state government replaced with Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party leadership as the Chief Minister and TRS held cabinet posts to enable Telangana progress,

Inclusively sustaining current achievements in coastal Andhra as well as Rayalaseema would guarantee Telangana rule not only in Telangana areas but also in the rest of Andhra Pradesh.

In this instance – Right to Recall strategy upon the present and past governments miserable failure to act diligently in ensuring economic growth and prosperity throughout the state could have served in the electorates’ interest.

Modern democracies like the United States exercise ‘Right to Recall’ as a wake up call for the political parties and elected officials to deliver campaign promises or face power withdrawal by the voters in the absence of honoring commitment to the people.

The measure is desperately required in Indian democratic system given the political parties’ track record in post independent India.

Shri Anna Hazare’s proposal in this regard is relevant and public support could easily stave off vehement opposition from all political parties determined to limit voter prerogatives during the official term.

Indian election commission reservation in incorporating the pragmatic electoral recourse confirms the political influence on the so-called constitutional body to expand options for the electorate in a democratic society.

Reverting to Telangana TRS leaders K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) and K T Rama Rao together with Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) members are urged to rally for unified Andhra Pradesh.

Further, the leaders pledge to renounce actions causing public inconvenience and huge economic losses to the state exchequer could earn solidarity.

The continuous disruption in transportation and essential services pervasively affect all residents as taxpayers withholding autonomy approval.

Political rhetoric to inflict damages on the state owned assets and livelihood is detrimental to the political party not to mention the general frustration towards public access denial.

Non-violence and peaceful dissent respectful of state property and provisions over blockade would be formidable in attracting attention and empathy from all corners in any political or social movement.

The immediate remedy for Telangana crisis is to dissolve the incumbent administration responsible for polarization within society and allow TRS to be democratically elected to govern the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.

TRS should be able to overwhelmingly win the election on two important dimensions.

Telangana with largest constituencies and districts backing statehood could elect TRS to govern the state in entirety.

TRS platform with a strong vision in the election manifesto for Andhra Pradesh excluding none would galvanize voter confidence among the distanced electorate in coastal-Seema domain.

Such transformation would be a paradigm shift in Andhra politics setting a fine example for others to follow suit.

Hopefully rationality combined with integrity to address the different segment needs for greater good would prevail in resolving Telangana matter.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!  to the people and political leaderships in Andhra Pradesh for everlasting peace and unity among all.

Peace to all!

Thank you.
