Frankly Speaking, the current administration headed by President Donald J. Trump has enormous potential to achieve goals in national and international interest provided the President’s public statements and views are strictly confined to issues and matter relevant to the subject refraining from unnecessary comments that immediately attracts media and world attention.

The achievements in the first year such as tax laws though favoring the wealthy and corporations continued from previous administration extending Bush tax cuts to the wealthiest hopefully have corporations invest the tax incentives in the economy for job creation and sustenance as expected in this bill. Again, any default or failure on the corporations not sharing the public dollars in enhancing job growth and American economy would impact American business and long-term prospects. Accordingly, the companies as beneficiaries of tax breaks distributing the tax dollars among members of work force all the way to the bottom unlike the trend to benefit top 1% would be wise and pervasively productive.

President Trump’s proposal on health care requiring able bodies to earn health insurance coverage with more than 10 or 12 states having come forward to enact this rule is prudent. The recommendation exempting elderly, disabled, pregnant women and children while having healthy members to earn the health plan coverage not only encourage young and not so old participants to avoid being branded as social welfare recipient which would be the case in this instance but also allow them to contribute to community service and the system.

Those who oppose the suggestion claiming that this would prevent these groups from active job search and the other scenario being there are individuals already working in other fields and therefore would not be possible for them to comply with this requirement.  With the former, the job seekers without insurance qualifying under this program could always fulfill the community or service obligation and organize for job interviews on mutual arrangement between them and wherever they are working that should accommodate requests within reasonable timeframe. In doing so, they might be able to assist the job seekers on community and other social service to move into full time employee status in the work force saving the health insurance coverage for others in worse situations. As for the latter, the employers should be incentivized with necessary tax deductions and use them towards insurance plan for the employed members without insurance coverage. Though this is a standard practice with most companies offering minimum health plan for their workers and staff, the ones yet to assimilate in this category should be advised to do so with tax benefit.

The objection raised in expecting healthy citizens to work for insurance plan is partisan politics. There has been similar proposition in place under earlier administrations like the former democratic President Bill Clinton justifying such requirement on college students qualifying for lower interest rates on student loans to return the favor in mandatory community service.

President Donald Trump waiver on Iran sanctions admittedly done with reluctance is a positive step for that is necessary in honoring United States commitment to ease tensions in the Middle East and discourage any nuclear ambitions from Iran agreed to in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015.

President Donald Trump administration on immigration policy in not ending H-1B visas for professionals awaiting permanent status is practical otherwise the measure would have triggered exodus leaving high tech industry and other sectors dependent on highly skilled work force in disarray.

As for the immigrants certified as undocumented and without legal status residing in the United States having arrived at a young age, The Differed Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) that was introduced through executive order by the predecessor President Barack Obama granting temporary work permits due to expire in March this year having been an incomplete process in nature appears to be contentious at this point in time.

President Donald Trump’s willingness to derive permanent solution to this issue granting legal status with path to citizenship and the Democrats agreement in this respect along with consensus on border security gaining bipartisan support is a good opportunity to move forward leaving behind the political gaffe and denials as well as misinterpretations of conversations proved nothing more than distractions serving none in politics.

The combined efforts from all members of Congress in the House and the Senate on all issues and averting government shut down with the approval of funding bill incorporating essential needs and addressing DACA together with formalizing the DREAM Act would confirm government seriousness in serving American electorate to the best of ability and reliability.

Finally, President Donald Trump and administration focus on getting things done as witnessed in the first year transcending impulsive reactions and response only providing fodder to factions eager to debate and exacerbate problems would be in the best interest of American public and international affairs deserving attention and meaningful resolutions.

The latest official gesture on Tuesday between North and South Korean officials to thaw relations is a positive sign welcoming peace in the Korean peninsula. The initiatives on both sides impetus the Korean population interest and security having been subject to unnecessary skirmishes and nuclear threats so far.

North and South Korean leaderships focus on persistent diplomacy and peaceful dialogue distancing from any advice or notions for overt or covert military intrusion to disrupt peace activity would demonstrate both nations resolve to rise above violent means and adopt direct communications and meaningful negotiations between two states sharing strong family ties and mutual economic development.

Meanwhile, the U.S. officials in Washington as behind the scenes actors and warfare proponents largely responsible for mayhem and chaos wherever possible whether Middle East, Ukraine or North Korea abandoning the repeat failed and flawed strategy to ignite hostility is not only beneficial to target nations but also help United States in moving away from destructive course.

These individuals, unknown to American public yet instrumental in ruining United States image and ability to allow peaceful resolutions of conflicts are the biggest threat to national and international peace and security. The current proposal from these officials to strike North Korean facility coining the term bloody nose strategy to provoke response from North Korea expecting such attempt would not erupt into full blown confrontation not barring nuclear option is at best delusional and at worst provocative.

The intent among these officials to disrupt and deviate the peace talks to combat mode describes their fixation on violence, deaths and destruction for which they are fully responsible and never ever held accountable so the trend continues with no respect for lives in general.

Accordingly, nations bearing the brunt of such reckless policy relevantly South and North Korea averting the possibility of any foreign military intervention to sabotage peace efforts between them would be wise and further exemplify the respective leaderships determination to defend sovereignty and commitment to protect Korean lives on either side.

North Korean athletes and cheering squad participation in the upcoming Winter Olympics without heeding to any foreign distractions alongside pursuing continuous peaceful dialogue with counterparts in South Korea would enable important issues like Korean family reunion and revival of Kaesong industrial complex that are essential for Korean citizens social and economic progress.

As for those touting wars and aggressions ignoring consequences despite trajectory on devastations inflicted on humanity with thousands of lives killed and millions forced into refugee status and their fate shattered is no laughing matter.

Those floating such ideas like bloody nose engagement with North Korea amid peaceful exchanges between North and South Korea evidently have vested interests at the Korean and the entire Asian regions expense. The lack of maturity among such groups permanently serving every U.S. administration is a travesty of intellect and rationality in treating military actions as nothing more than virtual game or simulation effects slighting serious ramifications.

The world is tired of turmoil and constant tensions with innocent lives targeted for regime change and other political, economic and strategic goals that were never viable and nonetheless maintained to exert dominance. The sane approach would be to refrain from harming peaceful process and instead appreciate the prospects of nations moving towards reconciliation rather than retaliation.

I convey my best wishes to North and South Korean leaderships and officials involved in transforming polarization in Korean relations to amicable partnerships prioritizing Korean citizens unity, economic needs and security.

The latest development in North and South Korean relations is a refreshing change. The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un overture to send North Korean athletes with cheering squad to participate in upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea and South Korean President Moon Jae-in and other ministers’ favorable response to set the bilateral talks in motion serve Korean population interest.

Both nations sharing strong family ties subject to unnecessary tensions proved counterproductive. The unwanted engagements on both sides having been the cause of constant skirmishes in Korean Peninsula substituted with peaceful interaction and meaningful negotiations guarantee results benefitting all especially the Korean citizens deserving permanent peace and conducive conditions for normal coexistence.

When nations deploy diplomacy and pursue peaceful outcome through dialogue, the efforts leading to desirable effects are always welcome for such involvement not only demonstrates maturity but also pave ways to rapprochement anticipated by people on either side of Korea.

The peace initiatives from both nations evolving into fruitful bilateral ties and trade development are mutually beneficial. In abandoning unviable strategies and means threatening each other with military and nuclear options displayed thus far, the leaderships representing North and South Korea could offer better economic prospects to their citizens and ensure national as well as regional security with the current position.

Any nation striving to improve dealings in the region and beyond adopting constructive measures that are non-violent and respectful of sovereign and territorial integrity of other nations would earn multilateral support and cooperation.

Korea with rich cultural heritage and traditions have common goals in terms of reviving Kaesong Industrial complex, facilitating visits from families on both sides without restrictions, allowing citizens participation in social and other events that outweighs the policy of isolation and confrontations experienced until now.

Nations and leaderships real strength and power lies not in firepower and nuclear status for they only reveal dependency on mass destruction much to self-detriment in addition to confirming weakness and inability to achieve anything peacefully without the use of force and deadly arsenal.

Again, the world subjugated to military interventions and nuclear threats suppress genuine progress. The territorial disputes and annexations for economic resources, regional and global dominance are the norm with time and financial investments expended in protracted warfare and conflicts neglect domestic woes and commitments contributing to internal turmoil.

Korea has been drawn into preventable crisis with North Korean citizens unfairly enduring economic sanctions and harsh embargo due to UNSC arbitrary and egregious impositions exacerbating humanity plight rather than alleviating economic situation and unreasonable conditions challenging basic survival.

All the more reason for UNSC dissolution based on trajectory failing to acknowledge repeat errors and debacles in the targeted actions while ignoring the importance of applying and maintaining standards across the spectrum barring prejudice and preference in decision making process.

Furthermore, UNSC creation and functionality impairs the formation of United Nations as an international body. The international consortium would be legitimate and effective upon elimination of any subset and entity such as UNSC with self granted veto powers among nations premised on twentieth century determinations to rein control over global matter having no semblance to contemporary geopolitical and economic paradigms and dimensions.

The changing dynamics in recognition of peaceful meetings between North and South Korea with an understanding and focus to move forward in diffusing conflict in Korean border is a step in the right direction besides exploring the possibility to elevate present armistice to definitive peace treaty.

Where there is a will, there is a way to find solutions averting irreversible loss of lives and devastation that could never be justified in the aftermath of any military and nuclear combat. There are no winners in such eventuality and nothing to be proud of in spreading mayhem and catastrophe.

Happy New Year! To all around the world.

The hopes and expectations of many for freedom, political and individual rights, equal opportunity, economic development and social justice could no longer be denied or delayed with people wising up and increased awareness on state of affairs despite consistent efforts on misinformation and misrepresentation.

The political parties and governments in power are challenged through ballots and public activism on matter concerning citizens’ rights and various issues regardless of restrictions and obstacles to stifle public attention. Accordingly, the trend forcing electorate to accept government performance lacking in delivery in improving economic standards and social status produce anxiety and dissatisfaction.

The world confronted with nuclear confrontation, territorial disputes, economic inequality and social prejudice continues with little or no change in status quo.

The policies and strategies involving interventions in foreign affairs, reluctance in diffusing conflicts that began in 2011 and earlier, plans to enter into new crisis are evidently counterproductive. Humanity deserve peaceful existence with equal rights and opportunities for all without exception.

The population frustration on lack of economic prospects to all segments in society combined with social repression against women and other demography are understandably reflected in public protests that require peaceful resolution. The violent options only lead to unnecessary tragic deaths of citizens and likely to exacerbate public unrest.

Elsewhere, democracy experimented during elections have issues barring candidacies with alleged corruption charges though corruption is worldwide epidemic in politics and other sectors that are not addressed effectively in the absence of comprehensive anti-corruption laws enforceable on all especially the establishment and influential members in the system and society.

The economy, individual rights and environment among others remaining the priority for majority, world leaderships and governments recognition of citizens’ plight in this regard are becoming essential to avoid uprising. The use of force or any other undemocratic means substituted with meaningful and result oriented measures would guarantee public trust and confidence in government authority. The government tolerance to free speech and public gathering would demonstrate active democracy.

Investments to uplift population isolated as forgotten and forbidden in society with basic living facilities, education, health care and employment are imperative to claim economic achievement.

The acknowledgment of failures and abandoning repeat errors as well as egregious decisions would provide better understanding and greater potential to resolve long standing disputes and disagreements.

Last but not the least, the year 2018 pledged to dissolution of UNSC, renouncing secret society and nuclear disarmament are critical for true liberty, universal progress, global peace and security.

Congratulations! On the tax legislation regarded a major overhaul by Republican Congress and administration under President Donald Trump.

As stated earlier on this website on the topic shifting tax burden from the wealthiest to middle class and lower income is not a viable option.  Such maneuvers are always unsustainable as proved in previous administration’s health care reform.

The repeal of mandatory health insurance subscription tied to penalty is a fair measure considering there were no equal requirements and obligations on health insurers despite them granted 35 million additional subscribers through Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare.

The health care industry exponential costs and health insurance conpanies consistent declining of non and minimal invasive treatments essential to patients living normal life stated as experimental course ignoring FDA approval are the norm prioritizing profitability over patient care. Such responses are typically evasive on insurers part rejecting  responsibility and market choice.

The recently passed tax law taxing social security benefits, retirement accounts like 401K and IRA, interests on savings deposits affect ordinary citizens dependent on life savings as financial security. Again the legislation targeting overwhelming majority as tax revenue base would impact consumer spending ultimately hurting retail businesses and upward in the economy,

The generous tax breaks to Corporations and 1% wealthy members in society perhaps offered as tax incentives in creating jobs and the latter to detain capital flight. Unfortunately these actions in the past by earlier administrations both Republican and Democrat in extending Bush tax cuts to these two categories have not deterrred companies from moving jobs overseas and the wealthiest  in expanding offshore investments for self and vested interests.

In case there are any changes anticipated which are seriously doubtful given the trajectory conforming to global economy concept, the results will be reflected in the economy especially the gap between haves and have nots either remaining the same or worsening in some demography.

Tax restructuring was necessary and long overdue. However, not to disproportionate benefits of the rich class and against the average population and middle income groups primarily stimulating cash flow and credit opportunities as first home buyers, home improvements, auto loan and student loan applicants in the economy.

The tax breaks to working families allowing full deductions on property tax rather than capping limits up to $10,000 including other state and local taxes leave ordinary citizens with meager net disposable amount and direct effects on their buying power as mainstream consumers in market place.

Anytime major corporations and 1% are favored the most which has been the trend thus far with any administration and political party in control of Congress, the candidacy promise to them as campaign financiers are duly fulfilled without reciprocation from them exacerbating mainstream plight not to mention the increase in national deficit.

Anything otherwise in this context would be significant and a pleasant surprise which would be verified with passage of time and mainstreet reality.

The individuals on single income or for that matter families deserving tax relief are regular taxpayers unlike the top 1% and big corporations finding ways to evade taxes with profits and assets in tax havens due to different standards in society exempting them from fair share of taxes in return for enormous gains they have at ordinary and average citizens’ expense.

The prospects and drawbacks of any legislation lies in alleviating economic and social inequality. The latest tax legislation upon meeting expectations among citizens across the spectrum would then be a national goal.

FCC handed Christmas gift to telecom giants in repealing net neutrality. Federal Communications Commission, the public funded government agency denied the citizens funding this very organization right to affordable and equal access of the internet favoring major telecom and internet companies in return for campaign financing in 2018 and 2020 election.

In doing so, the republican members who voted against net neutrality at FCC meeting having secured campaign funding for their re-election evidently deserted the republican base and supporters affected in net neutrality elimination. They were least concerned about their action impact across party lines and public interest.

When a political party is only focused in serving corporate donors and special interests at their own base and voters expense, the self and vested interests takes precedence over citizens’ rights and equal opportunity. The trend is unfortunate and does not bode well in treating the party loyalists and voters as nothing more than crowd cheering during election campaign and casting ballots to political members turning their back against those granting them power.

GOP tax bill not surprisingly sympathetic to wealthiest and multi-national corporations in their super generous tax cuts to them considering the members serving in the current administration are admittedly multi-millionaires acknowledged by President Donald Trump claiming they understand the importance of wealth better than others not in the same status.

Juxtaposed, GOP fiscal consciousness surface on relieving families in middle and lower income bracket from economic struggles and expanding Medicare and Medicaid to citizens in the prevalent health care law falling short in this regard. The term social welfare is immediately applied to the required action while exempting the super-rich from fair share of taxes, empowering corporate giants with lion share in the market in net neutrality annulment and allowing dominant corporations lateral integration defeating the purpose of market economy.

The definition and meaning of market economy is no longer relevant. Instead of market determining price with consumer rights and choices protected, the major players wish list is duly acknowledged with monopolists thwarting competition.

The latest reversal of net neutrality and tax favors including corporate takeovers establishing antitrust environment hurting consumers and other viable business competitors is capitalism going wild like unbridled horse leaving behind the carriage i.e. the economy represented and functional due to work force and consumers across the spectrum especially the people in the middle and lower economic strata.

No millionaires and billionaires position is sustainable without the people working at various levels enabling the constant flow of goods and services in the economy, their contributions in ideas, innovations to physical manual labor along with average consumers spending essentially boosting retail sales and corporate profitability. The work force and consumer base are the economic engine for businesses to exist and thrive in a market place.

Likewise, no political party or mantle of power is possible in the absence of electorate validating the post from the highest office in land to the bottom in government. The political members pledge of allegiance to campaign donors and other influential forces prompting egregious decisions against citizens, economic and national interest demonstrated soon after election to office until the end of the term is frustrating electorate with elections having become a mere formality.

However, the changing tide demonstrated in Alabama race is an effective popular dissent to status quo.

The argument from corporate representatives on rules and regulations being detrimental to business success claiming the Feds micromanagement of industry cited by FCC chairman Ajit Pai in rolling back net neutrality is the irony.

The economy lacking in or relaxation of standards leading to housing market debacle, finance industry bailouts, energy companies running amuck slighting environment woes, health care industry with insurance companies dictating patient’s treatment rather than leaving life saving decisions to physicians and patient are the tip of the iceberg.

On the contrary, corporations run the government beginning with bidding on candidacy of all political affiliations on campaign trail moving into drafting legislations through relentless lobbying and investment in swaying legislations to their maximum advantage.

Super Pacs funding elections are the norm with prominent donors viz. the Koch brothers – David and Charles Koch, the casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and alike propping the right and capitalist George Soros buttressing the left are somehow not regarded corporate and special interests meddling in government affair that are supposed to represent the mainstream, disenfranchised and segments without a voice in society.

The micromanagement of government and political system by influential forces proved adversarial widening the gap between haves and have nots with ordinary people deprived of dependable and honest representation in all matter not limited to internet access and tax benefits.

GOP recent move in tax reform titled Tax Cuts Jobs Act (TCJA) with disproportionate concessions to wealthiest members and corporate favorites alongside FCC vote ignoring citizens request to spare public domain such as the internet from corporate control are indicative of voter betrayal that could potentially deliver electoral backlash in 2018 and 2020.

The enormous campaign investments and political tactics in maintaining power could only go so far and ultimately governance rely on people support and approval. The government that prioritize citizens basic needs, rights, privileges and majority population economic security and social wellbeing have better chances of survival moving forward.

Finally, FCC vote on net neutrality has unnecessarily created challenges undermining and underestimating citizens will in matter that affects public performance in daily and professional routine.

The restoration of net neutrality in public court or congress is fundamental to preserve democratic and market economy values benefitting all not the selective few.

Washington D.C. and nationwide change is possible only through electorate at the polls for any actions after election is subject to political parties maneuvering, internal and external forces influence as well as control over system that denies good and corrupt free governance with fair opportunity for all.

The creation of proxies and puppets is desperate position seeking desperate measures for fake representation and falsehood is unsustainable against test of time and integrity.

I would like to discuss on the contemporary events with focus on power. The verbal presentation will follow shortly.

Power is enticing prompting actions not favorable to many citizens depriving them the individual rights and freedom to live a normal life.

When power is concentrated among few members reining control over the destiny of more than seven billion lives, there are no considerations for people and issues affected by their decisions.

The policy premised on vested interests slight ordinary citizens plight even though they have power and wealth because of these citizens voting them to office, employees in work force and average consumers enabling business success and profitability. In general, the lives of the powerful and influential are dependent on the hard work of the people who are rarely acknowledged as the back bone of the industry and society at large.

Then there are those asserting as Royals whose existence and extravagant lifestyle over generations is paid for and supported by none other than ordinary people labor and service.

How does one interpret power?

In a democracy, power is expected to be in public domain i.e. government of the people, by the people and for the people. When representation in government is shifted from constituents to campaign donors, lobbyists and external demands, the system is subjugated to political ambitions and vested interests. The pledge of allegiance to campaign financiers and ideologues remaining the priority, the electorate needs often neglected or discounted to benefit the bidders in election campaign and special interests.

As for the disenfranchised, less fortunate and isolated demography there is no hope for they are expected to defend themselves in the polarized world with money purchasing power and fame.

Power is worthless and weak when used for intimidation, harassment and elimination of lives being the norm with no courage to accept responsibility. Those fearing the loss of own life and the powerful in particular traveling in bullet proof motorcade flanked with security personnel uninhibited in authorizing the killing of innocent and unarmed citizens in domestic and foreign shores is the irony.

The preference to harm anyone they do not agree with or find them inconvenient is cowardly and adapting the misuse of power reveals the state of mind and insecurity. At such time, the enemy within overwhelm them prohibiting the sense in identifying self as the primary problem.

United States House of Congress passing the legislation yesterday i.e. December 6^th, 2017 on gun laws relaxing gun regulations and granting those with permits to freely carry concealed weapons as well as legally travel with firearms to other states obliging gun lobbyist National Rifle Association again clarifies the care and concern or the lack thereof for security of the population they are supposed to protect in public office.

The bill passed with majority Republican and six democrats votes are extremely thoughtful to say the least given the statistics in gun violence and now United States gun laws promoting mass murder in main street. The voluntary legislation on gun laws is congressional authorization to carry assault weapons threatening the lives of people falling prey to shooting rampage evidenced in American gun violence up until now.

The Congressional measure loosening gun restrictions indicative of arming citizens supposedly to fend for themselves in the otherwise alarming gun ownership.

Does this mean the process is intended to displace law enforcement personnel i.e. the police meant to safeguard citizenry?

Not to mention risking the lives of not only unarmed civilians but also police in serious crime scenes. Those who voted for this bill are expecting every individual to be armed not realizing the effects translated into shooting themselves on their foot with prevalent gun incidents not sparing congress members as well.

When folly reigns human character, wisdom is unheeded much to self-detriment.

This is an example of power exercised to exacerbate issues endangering public safety and legislators seeking prospects to extend term in office.

Whenever the public office is transformed into a platform to exert authority ignoring consequences, the office bearer has no credibility and not suitable to represent the state and the nation anymore.

The latest move declaring Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is abuse of office of the Presidency with little or no regard for other citizens’ rights and blatant violation of ethics denying indigenous Palestinians due legitimacy and sovereign status they are entitled to in the relentless land grab by occupiers.

Anything obtained and achieved through aggression and underhanded tactics are bound to be subject to endless turmoil and never provide satisfaction to those involved due to illegitimate claim leaving them bereft of everything in possession. In the constant motion to gain others share of property and rights, the deterioration in human value among them inevitably defines the ill-fate.

As I have stated earlier, greed, hubris and prejudice consume human soul and anyone affected by these qualities unable to control excess desire and hatred eventually succumb to adverse outcome.

Life is an opportunity to learn and evolve into worthy beings not wither like autumn leaves covered in dust and swept away by the wind.

Finally, I reiterate the previous statement on the unilateral recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is null and void. Jerusalem is a holy city for inhabitants of other faiths as well and accordingly their consensus on the sensitive matter is relevant. The established fact on East Jerusalem al-Quds as Palestinian capital remains valid. That being said, the arbitrary declaration of entire Jerusalem as Israel’s domain is irresponsible and illegal.

Power is powerful in spreading peace not violence, saving lives not causing destruction and exemplifying fairness and equality not bias and discrimination.

The declaration and recognition of Jerusalem by embattled President Donald J Trump under investigation on Russia matter is null and void. The gesture further confirms the office of Presidency of the United States subjugated to personal volition and political prospects to appease minority groups rather than maintaining integrity and sovereignty of the nation it is expected to serve besides adherence to international law and agreement of the parties affected in the reckless decision.

The politics of arrogance and vengeance unheeding wisdom and rationality is the ominous sign of the beginning of the end of self-destructive cause and representation. None other than history is testament to the fact.

Anything carried out in deliberate motive to hurt innocent lives and strengthen oppression is an imminent collapse of syndicate desperate to dissolve.

The defiance to accept reality and reason is an invitation to disaster witnessed throughout world events and lately in the demise of Yemen’s ex-President Ali Abdullah Saleh who could have survived and experienced positive developments in his country had he not been complicit in treason, terror sponsoring and massive destruction of lives and his country’s future.

Even otherwise, in denying others rights to live in freedom the burden of guilt while living far outweighs death in the self-inflicted punishment for those presumptuously embarked on misguided mission.

The lessons in history and life are for mankind to learn and prevent catastrophe prior to occurrence and not be the source and catalysts for human suffering as there are consequences to all actions ultimately serving as reminder for those who are responsible.

U.S. Presidency Unilateral Declaration of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital is Illegitimate and provocative.

Jerusalem, the city regarded holy for three religions viz. Islam, Christianity and Judaism is sensitive to unnecessary political and arbitrary decisions that could exacerbate the decades old unresolved Middle East peace process.

The incumbent U.S. administration preparation to announce Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is irresponsible and illegitimate. The cavalier approach ignores the native population i.e. Palestinians rights and interest especially with Al-Aqsa mosque situated in the Old City of Jerusalem – i.e. East Jerusalem Al-Quds stated to be Palestinian capital.

The current administration involvement in foreign affairs in Syria, Yemen, Korean Peninsula and now in Palestine is egregious without any concern for others legitimacy notwithstanding regional and global impact. The White house actions on foreign issues appears to deflect public attention from ongoing Russia probe and sexual allegations that were previously acknowledged with an apology are at present denied raising credibility problems at the executive level.

The Palestinian statehood remaining unsolved, any steps related to common territories in Palestine are unwise and unsustainable. 

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu currently under criminal investigation on corruption charges introduced a bill aimed at protecting self against prosecution, public outcry and possible resignation from office. The move has angered citizens leading to massive protest in the latest March of Shame that had tens of thousands of citizens demanding the withdrawal of undemocratic bill with a message for the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold himself accountable on graft accusations.

Understandably, the leaderships in Israel and United States confronted with domestic pressure on personal crisis are seeking to divert focus from critical ethical matter that could potentially cost their jobs.

The watershed moments for both administrations in Israel and United States respectively prompting them to target Jerusalem in the hope to evade accountability on individual matter.

Jerusalem is the epicenter for people of different faiths with holy sites representing the specific religions.

President Donald Trump’s impending unilateral declaration of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital against domestic and international will is counterproductive.

The policy lacking in prudence would contribute to imminent violence providing opportunity for ISIS recruitment of disenchanted and frustrated segments in global society.

Instead United States leadership advising Israeli government to heed international law and respect global appeal for recognition of Palestinian statehood based on pre 1967 territorial boundaries with permanent suspension of settlement activities in West Bank and East Jerusalem would demonstrate sincere commitment to peaceful resolution of disputes in the Mideast and worldwide.

Anything to the contrary like the proposal to claim Jerusalem as Israel’s capital would have prolonged and painful ramifications best averted in the interest of all.

Furthermore, Israeli authorities’ seizure of entire Jerusalem in addition to occupied Palestine territories that are already condemned internationally would only isolate Israel and cause serious economic setbacks even without sanctions.  Alternatively, the boycott divestment sanctions (BDS) movement could gain more momentum against Israel upon defiant expansion and occupation.

Israeli leadership addressing domestic issues and accepting responsibility on ongoing events is important to allay citizens anxiety on government corruption and poor performance.

United States expending time and resources in improving American image and position shifting from interventional status to reliable intermediary dedicated to diplomacy and meaningful dialogue resulting in positive outcome for all relevant sides would earn trust and confidence among nations near and afar.

The situation is a clarion call for international approval on Palestinian state in accordance with humanitarian law on right to homeland and individual freedom – the inalienable right of all beings in the world.

The former FBI director Robert Mueller headed special investigation dominates news on the alleged Russian meddling in the United States 2016 Presidential election.

The special committee targeting then Republican Presidential candidate now elected President Donald Trump’s campaign aides and members’ presumed interaction and meetings with key Russian officials has led to recent indictments on this matter.

The U.S. actions besides the ongoing inquiry includes closing consulate general in San Francisco and annexes in Washington and New York.

Russia in turn has responded by reducing diplomatic service staff at U.S. facilities in Moscow as confirmed by Washington based Russia Today (RT) television network.

Russia Today – the state funded network founded by the state owned news agency RIA-NOVOSTI in 2005 is dedicated in promoting Russian government interests to the likes of mainstream media and others in the U.S. and elsewhere safeguarding oligarchy, political and Secret Society agenda.  

Although RT claims the network is independent, any business especially communication media receiving funding that has surged from $30 million in the beginning to current $300 million from the state obviously inclined to be subjective rather than objective.

RT projecting Russian image to counteract U.S. media versions about Russia and Russian policy is a conundrum for viewers having to deal with two extremes from both sides i.e. one for and the other against amidst missing facts from the content regardless.

On propaganda, RT efforts are on par with prevalent media trend in hyperbole and falsehood in presentation of historic events and entities pertaining to the past and present time conforming to syndicate strategy.

RT transmission in three languages viz. English, Spanish and Arabic attracting 120 million viewership in the United States and other parts of the world is a buffer to syndicate’s media presence via CNN, Fox and BBC worldwide.

The syndicate’s media control and influence on entertainment industry to deny public access to truth and factual information could be anything but freedom of press and free speech.

RT like counterparts are not without collusion on not maintaining journalistic standards and ethics that are rare and remains under attack. The journalism with accurate reporting, review and analyses on issues and topics concerning lives and world problems are replaced for political and commercial success ignoring harm to society and the world at large that eventually hurts the source.

As such, the citizens fatigue in fake news and indoctrination is evident in broadcasting networks declined rating prompting desperate attempts to avert further deterioration. The spin zone is yet another means to continue mindless discussions lacking in substance in anything goes talk shows and programs to fill in time in the 24/7 media.

United States and Russia relations might have strained due to latest developments,

However, the similarities in both nations policies on critical issues such as voting against nuclear disarmament in the UN vote past month, resistance to dissolution of UNSC granted veto power to five permanent members viz. United States, Britain, Russia, China and France and strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia clarify common goals.

In terms of disagreements, United States and Russia have difference of opinion on Ukraine, Syrian conflict, NATO buildup through Eastern bloc and incursion in Baltic Sea. The U.S. occupation in Afghanistan extended into Central Asia that was previously under former Soviet Union is causing uneasiness on regional basis.

Last but not the least, U.S. sanctions on Russia is not appreciated in the wake of 2016 electoral outcome distressing those for change in game plan.

On North Korea, United States sanctions against the south east Asian nation is welcome by Russia. The reaction confirmed in UNSC decision with Russia and China’s consensus to impose embargo on North Korea.

As stated repeatedly on this website on standoff between U.S and North Korea, the de-escalation via diplomacy and constructive dialogue should be the focus on both sides retracting from respective positions with United States and ally South Korea ceasing military exercise and provocative naval drills in Korean Peninsula.  North Korea on its part to suspend nuclear enhancement.

Furthermore, the major nuclear powers stance on North Korea’s nuclear status would be credible upon them in possession of enormous nuclear stockpiles never subject to independent international scrutiny lead other nuclear and non-nuclear states in safe disposal of nuclear weapons freeing the world from nuclear threats that are frequently exchanged in U.S. and North Korea confrontation. U.S. has also issued nuclear warnings against Iran preceding Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) treaty.

In the domestic front, Russia Today (RT) as state represented media is criticized for not providing opportunity to political opponents to Kremlin power. The same is applied towards any political dissent deprived from sharing thoughts and grievance on air to local and foreign audience. They are apparently considered detractors and accordingly excluded in participation on media channel.

The contemporary practice to debar alternative political perspectives especially with Russian elections on the horizon in March 2018 may not bode well for Russia in the post-communist era declared as democratic system premised on free and fair elections allowing contenders upon meeting eligibility criteria to run for office.

Then the incident though eleven years ago involving independent journalist, writer and human rights activist Anna Politkovskaya tragic death from gunshot wounds in Moscow in 2006 deter Russian democratic evolution.

The free society would create and nurture environment to question authorities without fear of incarceration, character defamation or danger to their life. The country as vast as Russia with enormous potential in different fields not barring politics would benefit from eclectic representation that could permeate across the spectrum. The transformation is made possible with healthy debates and public forums on all topics relevant to citizens in the province and national level.

Russia’s membership in BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in addition to G20 and WTO serve economic prospects. On security to combat terrorism and any foreign intrusion – the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) comprising Russia and former Soviet republics in Central Asia enable neutralization.

Russian economy, political stability and national security are general expectations amongst electorate. Russia’s role in international disputes are also important whether personally that entails skirmishes at Russian border with NATO or tension related to U.S. and North Korea as well as ending Syrian warfare.

The internal challenges like corruption undermining real progress, Chechnya seeking resolution, immigration and social dilemmas are prominent woes requiring effective measures.

Russia is in the threshold of economic growth and constraints on political choices limits the scope for broader vision necessary to sustain expansion.

Finally, vox populi – the voice of the people from all walks of life exercising the right to express views or concerns and journalism in particular not confined to state or external orientation would demonstrate vibrant democracy.
